5 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: Slick design. runs pretty quiet and fast enough for win7.

Cons: Kind of hard to upgrade. Tried to open the case to install some more memory, but gave up later on.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat pc for my tv

Pros: low price point, lots of features (wireless/BT/dual cpu). low power consumption, quite, great for connecting to my TV through HDMI. Plays 1080p videos and youtube, netflix, no problem.

Cons: wish it came with wireless keyboard and mouse, the operating system didnt suite my needs so i installed fedora on it.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good nettop for the price

Pros: Great price, good CPU, includes everything (CPU, HDD, memory), compact form, HDMI/DVI, serial port, GbE, good Linux compatibility.

Cons: No VGA for legacy components. External power supply brick. Not as small as NUC. HDD removal a bit difficult.

Other Thoughts: I bought 3 of these boxes for general purpose use. Need an extra FTP server? You got it. Need an XBMC media player? You got it. Want to try out a new Linux install? Do it with this box. Need a PC to capture photos from your USB microscope camera? This is the box for you. Need a print server? Want to collect and record some data? Need an extra NAS? And so forth.
I tried Openelec-XBMC, Linux Mint, Ubuntu, it all worked flawlessly. These boxes are cheap enough and good enough that you can use them for almost any low-intensity computing purpose around the house, lab, or office space. The inclusion of a serial port makes it easy to use them for industrial applications, like replacing an 386 computer in some old industrial equipment. For every application, just use a separate dedicated box - this is what I think is called "Linux as an appliance".
The next one I am going to use will be an FTP server (Linux of course) that will try to run OCR on incoming scanned documents.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat computer for HD video

Pros: Small. Runs Windows Media Center perfectly with good response. Works great with HD Home Run Prime cable card tuner. dual-band WiFi (5 and 2.4 GHz). This helps in packed areas...until everyone else gets 5GHz, I guess.

Cons: CPU is a bit weak so sites like HBOGO and MAXGO that for some reason don't support video GPU acceleration don't work well.

No rear audio port.

Other Thoughts: Don't expect this computer to be a workhorse, but it's pretty good for making your TV "Smart" in a Windows sort of way...if you install Windows on it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: Very inexpensive. Reasonably small. Has USB 3.0 on one side and Gigabit LAN on the other, so it's great for serving up files on a network. The BIOS also has an option to restore previous power state upon power loss/restoration. Great to make sure that your file server comes back up after a power outage.

Cons: Not strictly a con, but the graphics and processor are weak, so don't expect too much. Also, the pre-installed linux is HORRIBLE. Nuke it and install your favorite distro.

Other Thoughts: I bought this with the express intent of making a small file server to share my external hard drives on my network. In a headless configuration it does exactly what I need with no fuss. Additionally, I hooked it up to my HD tv. It works, but I do perceive a tiny bit of latency or frame stutter at times.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap Office Computer

Pros: Cost, Low Profile, Window 7 64 Pro Compatible,

Cons: Low Range Performance, Needs Ram to be efficient

Other Thoughts: I bought these to replace 8 GoToMyPC computers for an office. They remote into these computers and access a server for a program. The linux was removed for Windows 7 64 Pro. Installed windows/drivers/programs on the one computer and it went slow, drivers seemed to take forever to install, windows updates were a 4-5 hour process. Needs the ram upgrade to be able to function efficiently. Acer website has 2 corrupt drivers. Their LAN and WLAN. I recommend downloading the drivers directly from Intel and Qualcom website.

I would recommend this computer only for light office use, or home internet browsing.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat set top pc

Pros: Stock Veriton. Wiped linux. Installed Win 7. I'm able to run Utorrent, Firefox, convert audio (in Audacity) and watch a1080p movie without problems. I bought this to replace my Acer Revo 1600 (too slow)

Cons: Acer Support doesn't provide a CARD READER DRIVER FOR WINDOWS 7 however it does exists. Google this search string: Realtek Card Reader Driver 6.2.8400.28124

I got mine at techspot. The ReadMe file indicates it's for Win 7/8 and both 32/64 versions. It took me hours to track this down. Also I'm 99% sure it's the driver listed under Windows 8 at Acer Support. but I didn't test it.

Other Thoughts: Realtek Card Reader Driver 6.2.8400.28124

Add memory if you can afford it but it works ok on 2Gb. Use CPU-Z to get memory info. Order the same and motherboard may allow dual memory mode.

4 out of 5 eggsnot a bad little box

Pros: I've enjoyed having this nettop. Got it at the $180 deal. It runs great and I've not had any issues with it. As stated by other reviews the CPU is adequate. I actually upgraded the memory and the hard drive in it and threw on FreeBSD 9.2. I use it as a file server and backup. I've fine tune the OS to work with the CPU the best it can. When I'm doing one process it usually slows the system down. It does its job. I would recommend this nettop for anyone wanting to do simple work or for a kid to just play games on.

Cons: Just the CPU but its not a big deal.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little PC!

Pros: Well worth the price if you want a small, affordable, and most of all COMPLETE system. Got it for under $200 and I'm more than happy with it. Runs windows 7 and 8 so far like a champ!

Didn't realize it had Bluetooth when I bought it so that was another nice surprise for the price.

Cons: Case is a little tricky to get into to add RAM/change the HDD. Not really hard, just have to be careful.

Obviously the GPU isn't going to blow you away if you're a gamer. It's a low-end Intel HD Graphics chip after all, but it's just fine for video playback and everyday use.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded the Ram to 4GB after I got it, performs even better now.

Pre-installed Linux distro was pretty useless for what I bought the system for (second desktop for day-to-day work), but I wasn't planning on using it any way as I planned on installing Windows on it.

Wish I would have bought a second one while it was on sale!
