4 out of 5 eggssolid as a rock

Pros: 1. look (All-in-one design).
2. Adequate display resolution.
3. 10.5 OS.
4. Included key board and mouse.
5. Upgradeable to 2 GB of ram-which I had rrom old PC running Puppy linux.
6. Ability to run Windows for Mac office suite
7. Less mal-are and virus software.
8. Bluetooth able.
9 Upradeable via FW and USB 2.0

Cons: 1. Size and weight.
2. Standard hard drive size.
2. CPU speed
3. Limited OS upgradeability.- no 106

Other Thoughts: My first 700 Mhz emac was salvage and has been rock steady for for years. So, when my buddy upgraded to an intel Imac I got a 1.25 emac . I liked the 1.25 so much I decided to buy the 1.42 from NE and besides my Pismo PB it is one of my new BF.

1 out of 5 eggsDON'T BUY

Pros: It was cheap, $170 including shipping and handling

Cons: It was defective. The screen was broken. The computer turned on once and didn't start after that. It cost me $70 for a RMA, almost half the price I paid for it. It would have been cheaper and better for me to go Office Space on it in a field. It's cheap and "recertified" for a reason. They are just trying to unload these broken and old machines. DO NOT BUY, it isn't worth the time and money.

2 out of 5 eggsmisleading

Pros: it boots and runs

Cons: no OS X 10.5 cd's. I called Apple Customer Service before I bought it, and he told me that if it was recertified by Apple, that it would have the OS X cdroms included. Well it obviously is not recertified by apple. It was packed faced down in a box with 2 layers of bubble wrap only on the bottom. the box was barely still taped up when it got here. The chassis was cracked from being dropped. A little disappointing for Newegg to sell these like this. Also the keyboard had 4 keys popped off. they were easy to fix.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money. Try craigslist where you can see what your getting.

4 out of 5 eggsThe Little Work Horse

Pros: -It got to me in like 3 days
-For the money you can't beat it
-Last True Mac
-Perfect for Downloading 24/7
-Will Run Forever!

Cons: -Keys on the Keyboard didn't work
-Mouse kept sticking
-No Upgrading Available... EVER

Other Thoughts: I Picked Up a Wireless Keyboard & Mouse for Cheap, Plug & Play and it works like a champ now. Also pick up a couple of TBs of External Storage. (80GBs isn't what it used to be) I had a G3 that would NEVER DIE! This big brick of a puter will last forever and as long as you don't expect the impossible from it... I've got newer, faster PCs (Windows & Mac) for gaming and power but if you're looking to just surf the net, check some emails, write a paper, no thrillz no dealz, always dependable little engine that could eMac is the way to go.

3 out of 5 eggsI am still using mine!

Pros: This was, as far as I am concerned, the last real Macintosh computer that Apple made. It uses the PPC G4 processor. This machine has and still does serve me well. It has never had any problems. I did eventually have to get a 1TB ext. HD to supplement the 160GB HD that it came with. I maxed out the memory when I purchased it and it has never let me down.

Cons: The only real drawback to this computer, as far as I am concerned, is the difficulty in upgrading components. There is no way to upgrade the video card or the Processor.

Other Thoughts: If it were upgradable. I would keep it and use it for several more years. I will never get rid of it. I still have my 2001 iMac with a 500MHz G3 processor. And it still runs just fine, too! I know several people who have and use Macs from the mid-eighties. These things are like the energizer bunny. We never buy a new computer because we really need one, but because we get bitten by the new computer bug and simply want one.

4 out of 5 eggsNot as described

Pros: Hard drive larger than advertised. Also more RAM than advertised. Still a pretty good computer for the money.

Cons: Loaded with OSX TIGER. Not Leopard.

Other Thoughts: I'm pretty happy with the computer. it was dirt cheap so i wasnt expecting much. Some good surprises: 160GB HD. 1GB of RAM and superdrive. only disappointment is the operating system is tiger and not leopard as advertised. overall a good buy. just make sure you dont need leopard.
