5 out of 5 eggsHP M7640N Awesome!!!

Pros: I've had this machine for over 2 months now, and am extremely satisfied, and if could, would buy this computer again!
1. Still runs fantastic! Thanks AMD 64x2 5000+ Processor
2. Decent hard drive: 300 gig plus
3. Is very fast.
4. No worry about compatible issues, still using XP. No Vista! adios! hasta la vista baby!
5. Needs better antenna if you want to use the TV Media.
6. Video card is OK, but I upgraded it to ATI Pro 1300, so that I could have DVI--and now I have 2 monitors running off of it.
7. With that in mind, I did have to replace and upgrade to a more powerful power supply power to my newer video card.
8. I upgraded the sound card to SoundBlaster.

These things aren't necessary, I just wanted to do some cool updates, so my new toy would be an awesome workstation for my photo/video business. My upgrades cost me about $140 or so, the memory in which I will upgrade will cost me about $140.

Cons: I found out that it was used. Thinking that it was new. Little bummer.

Other Thoughts: Well, OK, I found out someone had my computer for a week or so. But, hey, I only paid $540! So, I don't feel too bad.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Value Feb 07... Period

Pros: My 3 month search is over. I researched Dell, Gateway, Sony, Toshiba on Consumer reports, on, EVERYWHERE! I was going to build, then I saw a deal in a store, then changed my mind again. You probably know the drill I'm talking about. This is top shelf for its class category and if it doesn't have what you need- then you probably don't need it. Lightning speed, 2 gig memory makes Vista scream. Can grow with you as well. For +/- A Grand- there is nthing in the marketplace even close to power, and value.

Cons: TV Tuner card- Maybe a necessity to add. Keyboard could be more exciting but again, another easy upgrade.

Other Thoughts: You can buy bigger, and you can buy faster- but for the tiny difference in performance betterment-- it is not worth the extra $700 - $800. Just buy another one like the gentleman stated in his post. It is a real find for those of you wanting to build but accidently run across the very component bundle you would probably build anyway... And it still comes out cheaper to tweak a couple upgrades on this already magnificant system.

5 out of 5 eggsHad to buy 2

Pros: I started out going to build my own PC based around the athlon 64x2 5000 and by the time I had the specs I wanted it was cheaper to buy this PC with the 2g's of ram and 320g hard drive. This machine rocks.

Cons: None yet on either box

Other Thoughts: This was such a good buy i bought 2, one for me and one to put by the TV in the living room for my family. The TV recording quality is awesome!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal for the power.

Pros: Holds one of the fastest CPU's on the market today and has enough RAM and disk space to get you on your feet again. HP support has completely reinvented themselves and is one of the best in the industry, I have no idea what the other reviewer was talking about.

Cons: I'd be really happy if the RAM was DDR2 800, but no consumer system has such features yet. Of course this system has a heaping payload of rubbish preinstalled on it, so you'll spend a couple hours removing Wild Tangent games and 40 different AOL Trial links.

Other Thoughts: A good value, especially if you're going to use it as a media center. However it won't replace your digital cable reciever, which it kind of misleads you about on the box.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: great price for the feature set

Cons: replaced the CPU at a local store
three times. could not get recovery disks that would work. 3rd gig of ram would cause system files to corrupt.

Other Thoughts: dont walk run away from this model,
recieve NO support from HP they told me i was out of luck
