Excellent PC
- Pros: Perfect HTPC. BluRay, HDMI, 2 Tuners, etc. It is also very quiet even while chugging away. Very nice form factor too. Fits nicely in an AV rack and the little blue light at the top is pretty but not too distracting in the dark. Inclusion of wireless keyboard, mouse and remote put it over the top in terms of value.
- Cons: Remote doesn't seem to be working yet, but it could simply be user error. Vista is a horrible nightmare that should never have been. Luckily, my purchase of this has qualified for a free upgrade to Windows 7. So if you buy this, make sure you see if you are eligible on HP's website.
- Other Thoughts: Originally, I had planned on buying the AMD version of this directly from HP's site to save a very small amount of money. The process was a disaster. I received emails form HP saying my order was both declined and accepted. Customer service was unhelpful and they blamed both me and American Express' "system." They insisted that it was not their fault and if I culd just wait another day or two someone would call me to replace my order...yeah...right....
After my 4th to HP I got fed up and told the rep to, "just cancel it. I'm buying it from newegg."
Within 2 hours, newegg has processed my payment and was packing up the computer (HP couldn't even get that far). 3 days later, it arrived at my door in mint condition. The tiny amount of money I paid extra was worth the piece of mind and ease that is ordering from 'the egg.' I'll not be so foolish as to shop elsewhere again.
Great for my HTPC
- Pros: Everything I wanted for a HTPC in one set up. Everything is wireless to work from the living room since pc is in stereo cabinet connected to HDTV and reciever. Quick load up, and very easy set up. Was watching tv in no time and picture was far better going through the PC then the set top box.
- Cons: No cons so far for my use.
- Other Thoughts: Case can be set vertical or horizontal. Huge plus for me since wanted it mounted horizontal in the stereo cabinet. I love this as a HTPC.
