5 out of 5 eggsGood Desktop

Pros: Very nice pc. Didn't have any complications with this machine and it upgraded to windows 7 64 bit without a hassle.

Cons: The hard drive is quite noisy sometimes sounds like something is fighting in there (lol).

Other Thoughts: shipping was fast and newegg delivers a sound internet shopping experience.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat deal

Pros: whisper quiet, sleek looking (smaller case than I expected). cheap. wireless card included. decent graphics card.

Cons: don't know when I will receive my Windows 7 upgrade.

Other Thoughts: one of the dangers of perusing newegg is that you'll see something so cheap you can't resist buying it on impulse. I'll admit that I thought this was a dual quad core machine when I bought it on a whim. still, it's a really good deal. using it to upgrade the 6-year-old homebrew windows XP machine in the family room.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal

Pros: I've priced this computer out for parts and I couldn't come out cheaper than what I bought it for. Set up was simple. All I had to do was power it. The cableing was nicely zip tied. Reviews mentioned bad, noisy Seagate hard drive but I was suprised to find a quiet Western Digital drive in mine. Whole computer is super quiet. Came with recovery discs. Decent case. Didn't need a screw driver to open the case or to secure/unsecure the PC cards. Everything works. Starts up in 1min 7sec with Vista. Super fast. On board sound card works fine tested with the optical port. Didn't come with junk pre-loaded stuff like HP and Gateway load. Trend Micro pre-loaded works good and has a 90 day trial.

Cons: I still have no idea what I'm going to do with a quad core cpu, 8GB of RAM and 1TB of space. I would've liked an extra SATA cable because I bought a Blu-ray drive separately and that didn't come with a cable. The included DVD drive came with this neat attachment that allowed it to snap on to the bay assembly without any screws but it didn't come with an extra one so I'll need screws for the second drive. The drive has a 35GB restore partition on it AND separate restore discs. Could be a pro or a con for some people. Seems redundant. I don't care because it's a 1TB drive. The restore partition to reload the OS can only be used with the stock keboard which is ugly. Stock mouse and keyboard are PS2 and not USB. I had a a wireless keyboard/mouse anyway. Has floppy, serial and parallel ports (which has no use today really), but no IDE for my old drives. One PCI slot is better than none I guess. My old sound card doesn't work in Vista anyway.

Other Thoughts: Great computer. I don't mind the small cons all that much. The pros far outweigh the cons. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I was reluctant on buying a pre-built brand name computer since I wanted to build one but this was too cheap to pass up.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Desktop

Pros: Extremely quiet PC. I could still surf the web while converting video and compiling programs, so it has plenty of power for what I will use it for. The screw-less design of the case is great; I put another hard drive in and switched the dvd drive with a blu ray with next to no effort.

Cons: The power cables were barely long enough for the second hard drive, but it fits. I had to rearrange some of the other cables as the were pressing against the memory.

Other Thoughts: I signed up for the Windows 7 upgrade with no effort. I haven't received that yet. I've put Linux on and had no issues (haven't tried wireless or virtualization yet).

4 out of 5 eggsCan't Put Windows XP on This!

Pros: Cheaper than you can build it for.

Cons: Can't put XP on this. Came with Vista 64 bit. VISTA sucks. Cheaply upgradeable to Windows 7. I don't trust Windows 7 and had a free copy of Windows XP, since this computer was replacing one that had a copy of XP on it. Hardware components such as Audio just will not work with XP. Had to put the soundcard off from my old computer in this one.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good

Pros: I bought it in Thanks giving sale. So far it is working very good. I loaded Solidworks CAD and using it fully. I did not have any problem. I happy with the wireless speed of 3 mbps.

Cons: Mouse and CD door make lot of sound. I threw of the mouse and using Dell mouse. I will have to live with CD door.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Machine for Most People

Pros: -Great bang for buck
-Very quiet
-Well designed case
-DVI + VGA for dual monitors

Cons: -Lack of expansion slots
-VGA quality was sub par when used as secondary monitor
-Comes with Vista not Windows 7

Other Thoughts: Good luck trying to beat the price. 64bit Quad core with good (not great) graphics card and 8GB of RAM and a 1TB HDD. For most people this computer will be more than enough. It ran Half-Life 2 seamlessly out of the box. I haven't tried it with more modern games yet but you may have to upgrade the video card for them. Lenovo paid good attention to detail and used rubber grommets and padding on the power supply to dampen any noise. The result is a VERY quiet machine. They were also kind enough to zip tie the power cables out of the way.

The Case is also very well designed using as few screws as possible. Most components are clipped in and changing them out is extremely simple.

On the down side there is very little room for expansion, only 2 PCI-Ex1 (one of which is taken up by the wifi) slots and 1 PCI. So if you need a lot of extra peripherals this might not be the machine for you. I don't have a lot of extra peripherals so this isn't a problem for me.

2 out of 5 eggsBad hard drive & memory

Pros: Good price, fast shipping.... But

Cons: Seagate hard drive makes noisy thumping sound. After 10 days, I got bluescreen error and attemps to recover windows failed. Reinstalling windows also failed. Lenovo said will ship out imaged Western Digital hard drive, but I received blank Seagate drive instead. Finally figured out it was bad memory which is replaced. It's working for now with same thumping noise but not as loud as before. New pc shouln't be like this, I don't recommend it.

5 out of 5 eggsUpgrade worked okay!

Pros: Can't build this machine for the price. 8GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive, WiFi, looks like a great machine!

Cons: Comes with Vista, have to upgrade it to get Windows 7.

Other Thoughts: Usually build my own machines, couldn't build this for the price they are selling it for. Had some reservations because of the stories about the Windows 7 Upgrade. They have everything fixed, upgrade went very smoothly.

3 out of 5 eggsFinally got windows 7 upgrade!

Pros: Inexpensive, comes with recovery disk.

Cons: HDD makes thumping sound audible a couple rooms away, yet tested fine with seagate's Sea Tools. No hardware virtualization.

Other Thoughts: The windoze 7 fulfillment site has been modified so that the upgrade is now available. I had trouble submitting the poorly designed .NET web form with arora and mozilla browsers; booted vista and was able to submit from IE8 64-bit. Go figure.
