5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Quiet, Fast, Eligible for Win7 upgrade, Not too many preinstalled software, Fast Shipping, All reaches 5.9 points(highest) except video part.

Cons: Video Card enough for daily use. Any 30$ video card on this website would be better than this one.

Other Thoughts: Quality machine at this price.

5 out of 5 eggsNice machine

Pros: Fast...but nothing is loaded.

Quiet...but not under a lot of strange.

Price...good bang for the buck.

Design...good design...well engineered and efficient.

Lenovo/IBM good brand with good support and docs

Cons: None yet...

Other Thoughts: I looked and looked for a system that would be our server for our sb...this one is a quad 4 which is good cause the m/b will handle future upgrades. also there is a lot of ram so that will be helpful too.

newegg had the best price...i shopped all the other sites liked the cat direct and the big forest in south america etc

even with tax this came out to be the best deal...

i've owned other lenovo's and they are a descent brand with good support.

3 out of 5 eggsAlmost RMA

Pros: Can't build this much computer for anywhere near the sale price - retail price about right, though. System is very capable - once I got it running. Can even run two high definition videos simultaneously without any hint of stuttering.

Cons: Vista Home Premium installed. Upgrade to Windows 7 was honored by Lenovo, but charged $17 for S & H.
O/S on one huge partition, so a bit of a hassle to create separate partitions for other O/S's (like Windows 7 when it comes).

Other Thoughts: PC didn't start when I first took it out of the box and hooked it up. It beeped repeatedly indicating a system board problem. Build tag was dated July 9, 2009 and apparently system wasn't checked before shipping. Newegg was quick to issue an RMA when they learned that the PC didn't start up. Since I suspected unseated RAM chips, I called Lenovo technical support, who said it could void warranty if I re-seated them myself. After 5-10 minutes, they gave me authorization to do it, and the computer runs fine since then.

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than expected

Pros: Basically it's the car scenario. The whole is cheaper than the sum of the parts. Nice HD, 6G Ram..( odd but sufficient), Surprisingly quiet running. Did I mention 64bit?The case is built surprisingly well, looks smart, clean. It runs fairly quick. Oh!...It has a quad core...8200 older but still sweet.
1 egg deducted for VIsta....(sorry had to...lol)

Cons: VISTA ( ugh), but it's 64 bit @ least. The TV tuner will only work while plugged into a cable box. Cheesy keyboard/ mouse combo. Onboard video insufficient for anything but normal end user day to day use. Then there's the PS. Seriously? 280W? Don't add anything without swapping the PS out for something larger.

Other Thoughts: You can't buy the parts and build this yourself cheaper then NewEgg is selling it for. BUY IT! If this had Win 7 installed? Add $150-200. You really can't go wrong for the price. The core components are all good. Just change the PS add a decent video card. BTW?? This model is listed and elligable for upgrade on Lenovo's site. Mines on the way. ( $17 ugh)

5 out of 5 eggsGood quality and powerful.

Pros: Everything works a little better than expected. It's nicely made and quite fast. Virtually no bloatware to remove. Shipping was remarkably fast- only 1 day to my house. The TV card was a nice bonus that I use more than I thought I would- the TV recorder works well and allows you to skip the commercials.

Cons: Just the Vista upgrade thing. It's powerful enough that it runs OK on Vista but for the first couple days you have to endure a steady stream of updates till it gets current.

Other Thoughts: I upgraded the video card to get an HDMI output, but the original card was adequate for most things. I also upgraded the RAM to 8 GB, but it ran OK on the standard 6 GB also.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent basic machine

Pros: Fast quad core, runs very quiet, didn't come with too much bloat-ware installed, comes with 6gb of RAM among other goodies. Pretty solid machine.

Cons: Intel 3100 gfx is horribly underpowered, especially for a quad core. I found that the machine was not eligible for the Win7 upgrade (and even then, Lenovo charges 18 bucks for S&H) no matter how hard I tried on their website. [-1 Egg] Sticker says "Windows Vista Basic" even though home premium is installed.

The machine uses older DDR2 memory, and older chipsets (hence why it is cheap) but for a basic machine, its perfect!

Other Thoughts: Comes with the goodies (TV tuner, Wifi card, Memory Reader, Quad Core, Lots of RAM) which is a big plus! It has one PCI card slot and a PCIx16 slot. I added in a Firewire Card along with a GeForce 9800 GT to make this a cheaper gaming rig. Also upgraded to Win7 so I don't have to deal with Vista. Did I mention this machine is quiet? Barely a sound!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Plugged it right into my setup for a previous much older computer and it fired right up. Not much proprietary software to remove. Extremely quiet. Haven't opened it up yet but is very sturdy. Defragmenting the disk sped it up incredibly. Worth the time which was about an hour. I'm really impressed at this point.

Cons: Don't like the power button on the top front. Will gather dust no matter how much I try to prevent it.

Other Thoughts: Look at all the features this computer comes with. Purchased separately they would cost much more than neweggs price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Fast, quiet, everything works well. It is also eligible for the windows 7 upgrade. No problems with windows 7 running.

Cons: None at the moment.

4 out of 5 eggsGood machine; some minor issues

Pros: Good, powerful machine for the price. Well-built; nice casing. It's got wireless to save cable clutter. A true multimedia center. Seems fast.

Cons: Power supply is 280W, which is very low for this configuration. Had to remove the TV tuner in order to install a video card; its congested and the card fan takes space. Says it's eligible for Windows 7 upgrade but Lenovo website gives you a run around. Lenovo website not user-friendly in general.

Other Thoughts: All in all, it's a very good machine for the price. As with most things, it has some downsides, but right now you won't find a better deal.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Bang for your buck!

Pros: 1. GREAT PRICE for higher end (not top, of course)
2. 1333MHz FSB, Intel Core 2 Quad Processor
3. 6 Gig of Ram - Expandable to 8 with open slot to do so (DDR2 RAM; but chip wouldn't utilize DDR3 for more than a VERY slight benefit anyway)
4. Built in Wireless - immediate internet access to wireless router without any config aside from providing my WAP key since I have security turned on my router
5. FAST, CLEAN, AND CHEAP - I am one who runs a LOT of things at the same time and leave a LOT of windows open for reference. This has thus far been a non-issue in terms of bogging this machine down
6. Digital out on sound card
7. Slot available for additional hard drive

Cons: 1. No frills case; but more solid front openings for DVD drive than new Dell recently purchased and for the price what do you expect
2. Vista; but due to the low price of this PC, I just purchased the OEM of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit right along with this (did NOT run as upgrade - just let the install wipe the box/removing Vista partition) and still got this for right at $600
3. Not a high-end graphics card - no digital outputs; but I'm using this for development and not gaming anyway so I don't care. Those who do could upgrade that themselves fairly easily

Other Thoughts: Arrived without any problems 5 days after purchase using free shipping UPS. I have heard that UPS says all shipped packages may be expected to take at least a 4' drop in shipping and question if the previous reviewer might have hit something related to that or perhaps really did just get a lemon. They don't hide the fact that this machine cannot be returned only exchanged and, based on my own machine, I think they'll be happy with the exchange.
