1 out of 5 eggsLasted 3 weeks.

Pros: Low cost.

Cons: Lasted 3 weeks and video died. Machine does run hot. Refurbished only means they loaded a new operating system.

2 out of 5 eggsA crash a minute

Pros: Cheap, good for internet or word processing

Cons: I bought this computer for my son for Christmas. Unfortunately, I bought it in November, so my month to return passed before we even got to use it. It works fine for browsing the internet, but we had to replace the CD-ROM, and it won't play any games, even really old ones. Any time he tries, it crashes. We're going to try to find a video card that fits this one, but I wish it had a longer return window.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this unless it's for Grandma to play solitaire and check her email.

1 out of 5 eggs2 down, still waiting on one that works

Pros: Price and Windows 7.

Cons: This is the replacement for the first one that didn't work. This one was DOA with no graphics display at all. They are sending another... can't wait <sarcasm>. Do they test these refurbs before they send them out? I know it's the manufacturer, but this manufacturer needs to go.

Other Thoughts: Free shipping on original and didn't have to pay for shipping back with RMA either time. I guess as long as I finally end up with a good working unit I'll be happy.

1 out of 5 eggsBlue screen and DVD drive doesn't work

Pros: Cheap and came with Windows 7

Cons: Got the blue sceen probably three times in a week of ownership, system restarts whenever you run the Windows Experience rating, and the DVD drive didn't work.

Other Thoughts: Not sure what they did to refurbish it, but it wasn't enough. The good thing is that Newegg did and RMA and it doesn't cost me anything to ship it back.

1 out of 5 eggsWouldn't boot after a week

Pros: None

Cons: It worked for 2 days then wouldn't boot.

Other Thoughts: I'm returning it, but Newegg doesn't pay return postage. So beware.

2 out of 5 eggsHOT!

Pros: Small, Lenovo duty built case, very durable. Older but fast LGA775 3.4 Ghz Pentium 4. Came with 2x1 DDR2 RAM, which works well with the Intel cpu for a fast little work station, not to be used for much(read cons). Picked this up on sale for less than $200 with Win7(disc included), keyboard, mouse, and ready to go after about 5 minutes of final activation of OS.

Cons: Houston, we have a problem. I was fully aware that this older cpu would run a bit hot, but not as hot as it's proven. Idle temp is approximately 68c and under a small amount of load sky rockets up to 78c. After a bit of research I found that max temps should be 64c-78c. I believe these Intel Pentiums actually slow themselves down to keep from burning up, but the fact that my cpu is idling in the max temp range is not ok. CPU fan seems to be working very hard most of the time, staying on high with short lulls when I quit putting it under load, this also adds to quite a bit of noise. I'll likely RMA this and go with something else unfortunately. The idea of a water cooler in this small case seems highly unlikely and shouldn't be necessary with what I'm doing with it, I doubt it would fit anyway. *Side note, this was refurbished too*

Other Thoughts: Aside from the very high temperatures at idle and small load this would be an excellent work station. It's Lenovo built, heavy, smaller case, and would probably be a great work station if it weren't for the high cpu temps I am experiencing. I would like to have given a rating of 4 eggs because it is fairly fast for an older desktop and I really like Lenovo built products.....heavy metal \m/.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for Mom

Pros: Windows Experience of 3.4 limited by "Gaming Graphics". A perfectly base Win7,SP1 32-Bit install is on the hard-drive. Included a Windows 7 recovery disk.

Under load, the CPU fan is a bit noisy but quiets down nicely in most situations.

Perfect to upgrade my Mother's Mail and solitaire experience without hurting the budget.

Cons: It was not a surprise at the price, but the bundled mouse and keyboard are impressively cheap. (I purchased this fully expecting them to be disposable.)
