5 out of 5 eggscheep

Pros: small quiet will play dvd movies with no problem and can play streaming movies over the network with no problem and plays netflix with ease
quite surprised this computer will do any thing you need it to do for a general use pc
the core 2 duo is still a nice strong cpu and the intell graphics are surprising fast for every day use
NO it not a gaming rig and NO it will not do video editing at any blazing speed but if some one needs a computer and they are on a very tight budget this computer will do quite well even with 1 gig ram
i am going to buy a $24 stick 2 gig ddr 2 667 to add to mine because i can and it will help allot but to have a pc that just works for cheep this is a grate buy
and win 7 and parts will cost you more then this you can not build a budget pc cheaper then buying this box

Cons: for this price there not any really.

Other Thoughts: if you need a really cheep pc that just works it works
netflix works grate
dvd movies (not blue ray) works grate on my 42" lcd 1080 p tv
using the vga
some light video editing will do the trick
watching movies over the network works fine
(if you want a HDMI box you can buy a ati 5450 PCI card from newegg or the nvidia 610 in a pci but the nvidia card recommends 300w psu this box only has a 240w psu so i would go with the ati
5450 it is a very low power card and will do blue ray if you install a blue ray drive in this box

5 out of 5 eggslittle workhorse

Pros: compact and simple. for everyday use and general computing this Lenovo is a nice little PC. nothing fancy or revolutionary, but the Core 2 is still a very capable CPU. IGP graphics are adequate, and can display Aero themes. depending on what size LCD it easily suitable for school, home general use. it works well.

Cons: a bit heavy. i found this an excellent point as my kids wont be able to move or push the case around. however some may take issue with the weight. the hard drive is small, but 80gb is adequate for school and general computer use. the size is given on specs, so not a fault just pointing it out. 1gb of RAM is a little lean and runs much better when upgraded to 2-3gb of RAM.

Other Thoughts: bought this for a childs computer, i also purchased a 2gb DDR2 stick with this system which works great with the existing 1gb (total 3gb DDR2 667). not the spec says Windows 7 Home premium. it is 32-Bit OS that comes installed and on the DVD. this worked out for me as i only planned on 2-3gb RAM for this system. if you want 4+gb of RAM you will need a 64 bit OS, other wise anything above 3-3.5gb will not be used (sit unaddressed by the OS). it would be helpful if spec stated Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit, but i suspect this may very well differ PC to PC. some indication of 32 vs 64 bit should be noted regardless.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal

Pros: I lead a customer to this deal to replace an aging Dell with a Celeron and XP. All that it is used for is basic web browsing and Word/Excel. The system came exactly as specified, and had Windows 7 Home Premium already installed. There is no vendorware installed, which is a HUGE bonus in my opinion. The system runs just fine, and has very few physical nicks, and scratches. I'm totally satisfied with this purchase, and my customer will be able to enjoy an improved computing experience at a very affordable price.

Cons: None at this time

Other Thoughts: If you're going to be doing more than basic work, you may want to stick an extra gig of memory into this. Mine came as pictured here, with one 1GB stick, and one open slot.

A Windows 7 Home Premium OEM license is $99... So you're essentially getting the hardware for about $50. This is a steal.

5 out of 5 eggsXP Time Machine ( PCs Name )

Pros: Flat, But Small On Desk. Im Happy I Got This Same One (8808) With XP PRO, 1 month ago, $119. Has 10 2.0 USB, my 2002 had four 1.1 USBs. This has a DVD player too bad the connection is SATA ? The little box coupler wired to the back, I had just bought a super "Older Style" connected High End DVD... XP was Loaded, back-up disk is a "PRO" to me. Its fast, but NOT that fast, LOL Ive been using a new PC with Win 7 for 6 months. But I Love that Old Slower XP Style again, well for most of the stuff I do on the web, I can Still load All my favorite Software I saved all those years, and They Still Work, a "PRO" to me ! With All the USBs I can easily connect a FLOPPY exterior Add On in. Some of these have it built in. I saw when starting her up she can handle 2 monitors, another"PRO". As we can see in the pics its Really easy to open this one like a tackle box and get to everything easy. Its Very Quiet,I think its Sharp looking I see Im running out of letters I could go on and on, LOL

Cons: I had to Validate 3 times, much clutter and confusion for me, but I have alot of patience,,(obviously) It worked out, and I instantly got "Surveyed" I think they "Know" about the Glitch. I said all was OK. The DVD eject button is Covered by a second outer button making it too hard to push, I figured Id use the software eject, but found you can push the outer button flap, Down out of the way.which blocks the 2 USB and 2 On Lights AND ON Button but I can tear the small Flap off if need be. Good thing I took JOYS advice :( Joy Systems is name of Refurb Company) and backed everything up right away on exterior HDD. I had 1 black out after a couple hours, Right when I went to ENLARGE a Video. Figures, I dont know how they can run Win 7 on this thing,, Well It Restarted Itself , I was Amazed , never saw anything like that before (On XP, but this is XP Pro, or Win 7 for you) The Mouse was real cheap, I had to toss it, I had an old corded laser mouse I got at the reseller for 50cents BYE

Other Thoughts: I replaced my "Old PC "2002" w/ intel 4 last Jan, after trying to upgrade the ram chips, video went dead it was hard getting into the old PC, This one is Easy ! Says Intel D on sticker, Intel 4 on startup, Doesnt matter to me , it runs about the same as my old pc, just 6 months ago. Which ISNT a bad thing. I kept it up and Im glad these rebuilds showed up I just hope Micro keeps extenting support, heck, Im on extended support after 3 heart attacks, LOL, they are worth it Micro ! I already ordered a nice "Advanced" DVD to replace the one in here for $17 here on EGG, they used to cost $300 because Micro isnt going to have DVD on Win 8s, a real shame. Im staying Stuck on Win XP and Win 7 forever. This Truely is a "Time Machine" thats what I named her. Forward and Back, I Love It. Get one of these before they raise the prices up, they might when nobody buys into Win 8. Most likely I can upgrade to USB 3.0 some day, but I dont need it. Have Fun With These ! BYE

1 out of 5 eggsGot A Bad One

Pros: None

Cons: Bought this for my wife's birthday. Plugged it in with her looking over my shoulder in anticipation for her first windows seven experience. I started to show her the desktop layout and the thing beeped and shut down??? Kept running 1 minute then shutting down. Dirty inside and out and no thermal paste on the processor,Just a thumbprint burned in??? Still doesn't work.

Other Thoughts: This is the third faulty product from Newegg this year. Me thinks its time to give up on these guys????

5 out of 5 eggsNice Unit

Pros: These units are solid and quiet - very dependable. Very little configuring needed to use (I use AVAST antivirus and MalwareBytes). It's quick and effective for it's use. The case is clean, not dented up, and easy to open and add components. It takes full-sized PCI add-ons for WiFi, etc.

Cons: None. This system can't have a con with a dual core and Windows 7 for this price. Windows 7 alone is almost as much.

Other Thoughts: We use these as kiosks for guests to check email / print stuff / etc. And, we sell these used for grandmas that need to check email, pictures, or skype to family out of state. I am completely satisfied with this purchase and plan to purchase many more.

4 out of 5 eggsOkay unit, but not expandable

Pros: Very functional unit for the price. Quiet fans, nice compact footprint. Plenty fast for routine use. Windows7 found drivers for everything on board without any issues.

Cons: Not expandable. There's a funky daughter card thing, that offers a single "PCI Riser", that'll let you plug in a single PCI (not PCI/e) card. But it's very cramped in there, so you have to be careful what you try to plug in, let you block air flow.
You really can't put it vertically, so depending on desk space you'll likely have to part your monitor on top. I'm a bit nervous about the weight.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a cheap plug'n'play Win7 box for "routine" use, this may be a good choice. As long as you're prepared to just use it as-is, you'll find it more than adequate to your task.
