wonderful media consumption system
This review is from: Lenovo Intel Core i7 3610QM (2.30GHz) 8GB DDR3 750GB HDD 27" Touchscreen All-in-One PC Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit A720 (25642FU)
Pros: 1. GORGEOUS all around construction and design, fit and finish are impressive, it really is quite a show piece.
Cons: 1. Price - all in one systems with similar specs can he had for several hundred less, you're definitely paying for cutting edge design here (I think it's worth it!).
Other Thoughts: NOTE: These are my initial thoughts after 48 hours of ownership. I purchased this system from the Newegg eee-B@y store primarily as a media consumption device for photos, videos, DVD/Blu-ray and HDTV. After confirming the system was 100% functional I did upgrade the HDD to SSD within hours of turning it on for the first time (I knew the factory HDD was slow before purchasing) and I performed a Windows Anytime upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium to Professional for full compatibility with my server. One of the "cons" I read in reviews about this system is the "low" 1080p resolution on the 27" screen - overall everything looks great resolution wise (out of the box it's set at 125% and I suspect this is merely to make objects in Windows 7 "touch" friendly), it does look better at 100% but screen elements become more difficult to touch in Windows 7 (thus this system is Windows 8 Ready - I don't plan on upgrading). I'm not listing the resolution as a con because it's perfect for my purposes - if you're going to spend 8+ hours a day creating media choose the Dell XPS 27" or an iMac, however, if you're looking for a friend & family friendly system to showcase your digital life, this system can't be beat!
