5 out of 5 eggsGood system for price

Pros: I bought on sale for good price, I upgraded it to a pretty good gaming pc. Added a geforce 9800 GTX+, upgraded to 4gb ram, added another HD. Runs Crysis very well. Good system even as it comes.

Cons: Only 2 Sata slots. Ended up having to buy a pci sata card to add another HD. If you plan on upgrading like I did you will need a new case as with all out of box pc's its a small case.
Plus all the garbage you have to un-install and erase but any box pc has that problem

Other Thoughts: I only paid 3 big ones for it, and put another 4 into it to make a good gaming pc, even if you dont upgrade

5 out of 5 eggsBest deal in it's price range

Pros: My Situation:
Outstanding machine for the price! I've gotten a couple of these machines now. I picked my first of these computers over a sale weekend for about 3 bones.
I added a 500w PSU and an ATI 4670 video card and this rig just flies. I use it for mild gaming, media, and data storage.

This Machine functions very well as a home PC or generic office PC. It'll respond quickly and rarely achieves full load. If you have a machine that is a few years old, this will REALLY impress you.

*Great gift because of Price vs Value
*Great office machine
*Great home machine
*Great HTPC if added a decent video card
*Great Gaming rig if added a decent video card

Cons: Typical bloatware, spend a few minutes clearing it out

Other Thoughts: Conclusion:
Hardware wise, it overcomes every other system in it's price range. This is one of the best deals I've seen. I saw some black friday stuff that was comparably equipped priced between one and two bones more.

I was really impressed

5 out of 5 eggsEverything you need for the office

Pros: Has everything you need for you average office needs. I bought this for a new hire and he is very happy for the things that need to be done. I searched around and this was the most economical solution i could find if you compare performance and price. The system seems solidly build.

Cons: No DVI connector. I corrected this by adding a cheap Nvidia 7200GS card (15 bucks). Before this the VISTA experience rating was 1.0, now its 3.7 and the advanced graphics do work.

Other Thoughts: Just the right thing for the office. I use these together with OpenOffice and other Freeware software and they work just fine.

3 out of 5 eggsExcellent for the price

Pros: -Cheap price for sure
-Excellent performance after uninstall all the garbage demo softwares and boost the system by turn all the special effects down.
-Such a light tower compare with mine Pentium 4 XD
-Very quiet, but tend to have a little bit wooo sound after long hours of use!

Cons: -The tower is too light, and the bottom can not well support the tower ( I almost flip the whole tower for several times when I want to connect the usb devises)
-Yea, again only 2 USB in front, not enough ~
-Such a cheap video card!!!!!!I can not even play the CS:S!!!!!!ioi

Other Thoughts: This is pretty average computer which rated by Vista as 3.0 ( Video card rate turns the score down a lot.)
Wish my hard drive will not down after 1 month of using, and I will write more report after 1 year, see if this computer can last that long~
A new video card is definitely needed!

5 out of 5 eggsgreat computer.

Pros: This is a great computer. Perfect for the windows vista that comes installed on it. Everything i use snaps right up. Including Adobe Photoshop CS4. The windows experience rating is 5.5 for the cpu, 5.9 for the ram, and about 3.2 for everthing else. I used geekbench to get the benchmark score and it scored at 3,095. I did overclock it and got the cpu at 3 GHz safely. I could probably go higher but i really dont want to push it. After being OC'd it benchmarked at about 3,500. For the price it's a steal. Buy it.

Cons: Absolutely no cons.

Other Thoughts: Just buy it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: $349 are you kidding. I don't know why people are knocking Vista. Just make sure all your programs and hardware are Vista compatable. I've had no BSOD"s. At this price buy a new power supply (500W) and a new Video Card and maybe a new sound card and don"t forget adding 2gigs of memory (Vista 32 bit only recognizes 3 Gig) All the upgrades will total $100 bucks.

Cons: Cons none. If my Hard drive pigs out Compaq will buy me a new one.

4 out of 5 eggsNot too bad for the specs.

Pros: Big HD Drive and processor.

Cons: Cheap ECS Motherboard/2 memory slots/no usb card reader.

Other Thoughts: This is a very nice system. The price was very reasonable. Being kind of a techie I can fix anything I don't like on it. Installed a video card, a USB card reader, a couple Vista tweaks and the system is set. I would buy one again for the reasonable price.

3 out of 5 eggsFast but not upgradeable

Pros: • Fast dual core processor.
• huge hard drive (I didn't have any problems with with the HD and I reformatted twice and left the computer on for 4 days straight).
• quiet.
• inexpensive ($300).
• integrated lan card.
• integrated sound card.
• nice keyboard

Cons: • Poor PSU (250 watts)
• Only two sata ports which are both used by the dvd writer and hard drive, other two were removed.
• Only two ram slots, other two were removed.
• Tons of crapware (Symantec virus, useless HP crapware).
• Does not come with Vista disk.
• New psu needed for graphics card upgrade.
• Cheap roller ball mouse.

Other Thoughts: I mentioned a lot of cons, but overall this is a great buy. You can get around the lack of sata ports by using ide optical drives (ide cable not included). The integrated graphics play older games like The Sims 2 just fine. The computer is pretty slow with Vista, but it screams when you install XP SP3 x86. Don't buy this computer to upgrade, there are not enough sata ports or ram slots.

4 out of 5 eggsLooks good

Pros: Everything looks good. Pretty powerfull for a prestario. Cheap also.

Cons: I have a integrated nvidia geforce 6150SE. And with all the power from this rig, it looks like a waste.

Other Thoughts: I recommend purchasing a graphics card for this. It seems like a waste with the 6150SE.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Buy

Pros: Fast processor and overall an excellent desktop, especially at Newegg's price. With onboard video, it's fine for most business applications. Installed WinXP Pro on the hard drive, and now the system is very fast. Great buy for the money.

Cons: Undersized power supply, not atypical in many commercially-manufactured desktops. Easily updated to a larger power supply.

Other Thoughts: Some previous posts have related problems with failed hard drives or hard drive errors after a short period of time. It's a very good possibility this is due to G-load and shock during shipment from Newegg, primarily by UPS Ground.
