1 out of 5 eggsVideo Card Issue

Pros: email machine, and a slow one too

Cons: DOES NOT have PICx16 slot. Does have a SDVO/ADD2 card slot that looks exactly like a PCIx16 slot and even accepts PCIx16 video cards. The SDVO/ADD2 slot do not accept PCIx16 cards, however.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this. It isn't compatible with much of anything anymore. I just wanted it to stream videos to my tv through hdmi. Seemed simple enough, but the price tag keeps going up and the quality keeps going down.

TL;DR This is a $150 lesson on SDVO/ADD2 video cards

1 out of 5 eggsWindows 7 is 64 not 32 bit

Pros: Previous item descriptions were ok

Cons: Sloppy item description.
They don't specify 32 or 64 bit. The product is shipping with 64 bit OS which is unexpected and not a good idea on something that installing windows 7 on is a stretch. This is my first purchase from Newegg that I haven't been satisfied with.

5 out of 5 eggs@ Deceitful Product Listing

Pros: This is listed as Pentium Dual-Core not Core2Duo.

Cons: People such as the NA (who cant even put a name) poster that don't know how to read Intel product listings. People that say they are 'tech savvy' and don't know how to spell or read thoroughly. /sigh

Other Thoughts: This is a great price for a product that is 5+ years old. Will it do email and web? Sure it will! It would even do videos from You_Tube. Will it play WoW? Most likely... will it play it well, NO.

1 out of 5 eggsNot compatible with Windows 7!!!

Pros: It would probably be OK with Windows XP or VISTA but it ships with Windows 7 Home Premium.

Cons: This computer is sold and ships with Windows 7 Computer but it is not compatible with Windows 7. HP/Compaq shows last compatible OS as Windows Vista. Even trying to play Windows 7 Solitaire crashes it. None of the Windows 7 games work. Updating graphics drivers even using latest Intel drivers is no help.

Other Thoughts: And then NewEgg won't allow a refund! No wonder. I did not even notice that they had such a policy until now. Another issue with it, the PS/2 keyboard port only works in Windows. It is no help on startup to do F10, F9, etc. or trying to get into safe mode or startup on Windows when it has an abnormal shut down. PS/2 keyboard works fine after Windows boots or, strangely, it also will work even at startup if a USB keyboard is plugged in before power on. Then both keyboards work.

1 out of 5 eggsDeceitful Product Listing

Pros: There was something in the box. So at least some of it can be used.

Cons: This computer is in no way equipped with a Pentium Dual-Core. The listing says it is, which is why I purchased it.

Instead of the slightly crippled re-branded core 2 duo, this has the older, less powerful, and hotter running Pentium D. So basically a dual Pentium 4.

This was supposed to be a replacement computer for an older family member, so she can again, look at the digital pictures that her dead husband took.

Transfer the data and it's ready to go I thought. Now I need to replace the CPU with a Core 2 Duo era processor before I dare hand this garbage over to my relative. What she has now is more powerful than this.

Newegg didn't fact check their list at best, and at worst they lied to sell an egg buster item. Either way shame on you Newegg.

Other Thoughts: I would have purchased a computer from Newegg anyway. I would have paid more money for newer parts. They just need correct info in listings, so people can make those choices.

I've purchased many thousands of dollars, worth of items from Newegg over the years. This is the first time I've felt like they let me down. I double checked the listing before buying, to prevent something like this.

I might have to reconsider where I make my next online purchases from.
