4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: ATX case, quad core, upper range video card, extra features such as built in card reader with good software to support it. I bought this with the 24" HD Gateway monitor and it looks awesome. Have had zero problems from the first boot up. The system is virtually silent with some hard drive noise and fan noise when running intense games. Purchased mine at Best Buy......could not have built this from scratch for the price!!

Cons: I have heard that the gateway support is lacking but have not had to use it.
I think the power supply will be an issue in the future if upgrading, but it is very functional now.
Keyboard and mouse are basic, speakers sub-par.

Other Thoughts: Very pleased with the computer and especially the monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsnice comp

Pros: alright first off this thing has alot of power. i got a acer 20 inch monitor with it and im in heaven. when i recieved the package it was a little dinged up and when i went to turn it on it didnt start. there were a bunch of cables unplugged most like due to ups and there horrible handling procedures(i know i used to work for them). the mother board was unplugged and a few others but a easy fix.

Cons: besides the motherboard being unplugged when i started it up i left it on and it went into sleep mode after awhile and when i tried to get it out of it the thing blue screened. it went into sleep mode again and i had to manually turn it off with a hard start. so idk what that mean, any suggestions? still seems like a good comp i guess i wont let it go into sleep mode for awhile.

Other Thoughts: the sleep mode thing is wierd but this comp kicks major hiney.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Gaming System but....

Pros: Good Gaming System for the Price, not high end build, but in top of the line, this system let you play all the lastest game in highest resolution! i play WOW and COD4, its runs both of my game in highest resulotion..so smooth
but.....

Cons: but....with 400w PSU,
it limites your upgrade range in the future..also they have a intel quad-core 6600 version just came out witch is call FX7024. Thinking of the feture i decide to return my fx7020 to the retailer and get the FX540s derictly from gateway and only cost you $200 more....just becuz i need more room to upgrade in the future....but i have to purchase another 8800GT superoverclock version to upgrade the one on fx540s witch is 8600GS

Other Thoughts: ppl masion about the HD noise its loud....but i would say its fine...

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: .

Cons: .

Other Thoughts: The Problem you're having could be more than a driver, you could've gotten a bad graphics card or likely bad Ram. nots not that rare

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Budget Minded Gaming System

Pros: Can't beat this system for the price. I bought this to replace my ageing 4 year old Gateway since it was so reliable and such a work horse. It's fast. Plenty of storage. I've run so far F.e.a.r, Bioshock, and Call of Duty 4 at evey single thing maxed and HD resolution and it ran everything smooth and looks awesome. Vista looks much better than XP and has alot better features. I was worried about making the switch and regretting it, but now I'm glad I made the change! The hard drive is not noisy like some people say, it's actually really quiet. I barely ever here it. I wasn't too crazy about the mouse buttons (the mouse is cool and comfy) but the buttons are very stiff. Your deffinitely not going to accidently click something. If your not going to spend $600 more than this is the best system in your price range! I would highly recommend it. Very satisfied.

Cons: none

2 out of 5 eggsbad driver

Pros: Has plenty of memory

Cons: We bought this system yesterday and we're already regretting it. While playing WOW it keeps freezing for a split second to a black screen and then eventually crashing with a blue screen. We've tried everything including customer support, it looks as though it has a bad driver.

Other Thoughts: Be prepared to spend a lot of time trying to fix the problems through a series of trial and error.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast CPU. Very very quiet. Great gaming specs for its price.

Cons: I'm not a huge fan of the mouse it came with. The buttons are harder to press if your hand isn't very huge.

Other Thoughts: I hopefully wont notice the Phenom 9600 bug I've read about. It apparently only occurs with very heavy multi-tasking so I've read. I've only had mine for a couple hours, but was bored and did a lot of homework on this system. I'll be buying Bioshock shortly. :)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Machine for the Money

Pros: Quad-Core, 8800GT (Evga Edition), TV Card, Nice Case Style, Excellent Support via Gateway. Im very impressed with this computer and Next Year when I upgrade it will be another FX.

Cons: None worth knocking the machine for. BTW. If you hit 'CTRL-F1' while in the BIOS 'hidden' options will appear.

Other Thoughts: Yes your friends 5600+ may out perform it on Sytectic benchmarks such as 3DMark, however when you start getting into games that support Quad Cores, you gain a big improvement. Also this machine will support Hardware RAID, and I have overclocked this to 2.5Ghz Stable with the stock cooling (I was using Nvidia's Ntune utility to do this. This machine is a great value for the money. Especially if you just dont have the time to spend building your own system.
