5 out of 5 eggsA perfect mid-range gaming machine.

Pros: This is a great machine! Provides lots of room for upgrades! Add a decent video card and it's ready for mid range gaming. This best system for the money in regards to what it offers. 3 Gigs of ram, upgradeable to 4 Gigs, 2.1GHz tri-core processor, large hd, it's a good deal. This computer performs very well under load. Boots up quick, shuts down quick, not one crash yet. Everything with this computer is click and go, click and go, no waiting for things to load. It's nice to know I'm not wasting my life away waiting for things to load. All those seconds add up you know! :) Thank you Newegg!

Cons: You may want to upgrade the PS if you plan on using a decent video card because the one supplied is only 300 watts. The mouse and keyboard feel flimsy. Other than those two things the system is mint.

Other Thoughts: Installed an XFX GeForce 8600 GT XXX and it runs most modern games on Mid to High settings, depending on the game. Plays Bioshock perfectly on everything set to high, assuming you add the same video card I did. The integrated video is ok, but it only lets this computer perform to 20% of what it's capable of, as far as gaming is concerned. This is a great little computer that wont disappoint you.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Bang:Buck Ratio

Pros: Lots of power for little buck! 2.1 3x is definitely better than average. and the fast FSB and HT helps a lot. Vista Home premium is working really well. no errors thus far. Turned off UAC right away to get rid of the security pop ups.

Cons: stock gpu wasn't bad, ran HL2 and FEAR well enough. and the PSU lacked at only 300W. $100 nvidia 8600gt and $40 450W PSU from the egg and it was ready to game! Just to be safe I also modified the case to fit a 120mm fan instead of the stock 80mm just for some peice of mind.

Other Thoughts: After the GPU & PSU upgrade runs HL2 series on High settings, FEAR on med/high, Ghost Recon AW med.
AND with 3 gigs of RAM you can comfortably get rid of your page file instead of using ready boost and waiting for an error when your jumpdrive goes bad. Played HL2 & FEAR & Internet Radio & watched a movie at same time w/ a gig of RAM still to spare.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Quiet and Fast

Pros: Like everyone says, its quiet and fast. Has a great RAM/HD/CPU for the price.

Cons: Onboard video is only VGA, you really do need to buy a PCI x 16 video card. And careful messing around with those metal things covering the card slots, they'll fall out of there like a house of cards once you let them loose. Ditch the speakers, mouse and keyboard.

Other Thoughts: Great product for the price. I don't mind uninstalling all junk software, I figure it helps them keep the price down.

4 out of 5 eggsA lot of speed for little money

Pros: Great processor for the money, good amount of RAM. Nice motherboard with lots of expansion room. Good value. Front media card reader.

Cons: Motherboard failure after two months but good support from Gateway fixed this issue. 320 GB HD space is enough for me but I would've liked 500. Weak GPU. Lots of preinstalled bloatware.

Other Thoughts: Nice buy for the money. Would recommend upgrading the graphics card and PSU for gamers. Gateway support was good on my mobo failure and I wouldn't mind buying another PC from them.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent buy - Super fast and very quiet

Pros: This computer is extremely fast and amazingly quiet. The included software I did not need was easy to remove.
I like the enhanced search functions on both Vista and Office 2007 which I also installed

Cons: Vista does not support my Canon MP 530 printer. It works but does not communicate back on status ( ink levels etc) and the error messages were annoying.

Other Thoughts: Very pleased with this machine for the price. Gateway support is unobtrusive but looks to be helpful.

5 out of 5 eggsQuite quick for the price...

Pros: I bought and installed this for a relative, and to be honest. I am very pleased. For the price, and the setup, it really can't be beat for a barebones system. All it really needs is a decent video card, and you're golden. Once I cleaned out the crap software, it ran quite good. And the look of all black, and black accessories is nice as well. definite plus.

Cons: Speakers are USB Powered, while innovative, they have no bass, strictly a basic speaker setup.
Would have been nice with a actual written manual. Found one in the computer, but what good does that do me, I either have to print it, or turn on the system to look at it. Mouse is also wierd feeling....
lastly, onboard video is ehh, definitly needs a decent video card if you want to play any games. otherwise its fine.

Other Thoughts: None.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply Marvelous, Warp Speed

Pros: This PC is absoulutely super. I cannot say enough good things about it. It is fast as blazes, due to the tri-core AMD Phenom, and 3gb of ram. Has 320gb of hard drive, about 10gb is taken up by "Recovery" in a D: partition. It boots up and is ready in a wink of an eye, is completely quiet, and I mean completely! You ocannot hear a peep coming from it, unless you listne real closely you will hear a fan insdie. It has never felt even the slightest bit warm on the outside, and I have it on about 12 to 14 hurs a day, everyday.

Vista fearers: I was scared to death of having to finally convert to Vista, but withthis PC, I love it. There are a few quirks you need to learn about, just use google and search on Vista- and whatever is puzzling youo and you will find lots of resources to help you. Basically I now think Vista is far superior to XP, and I NEVER dreamed I would ever think that.

The price is incredible, Newegg is super. Don't hesitate a second if you want superfast everyday

Cons: It has a fair amount of junk software installed taht I had to get rid of, MS Office, MS Works. Has an annoying AOL Icon that shows in the start button area. I finally had to right click on it and change teh path to it in properties to keep it from showing. You delete it, and it comes right back, so just right click and give it a bogus path and it will disappaera. Same with the Netzero icon. Neither of these apps is installed which is good. i deleted the entire folders for them. I wouldn't use AOL if it was the last ISP on the planet, but thats just me (and a zillion other savvy people), but thats another issue. Get rid of all the junk on it, and customize it with your own applicatins.

Other Thoughts: The price is superb, the performance is out of this world. YOu could not get a better buy. Its only counter point for some might be that it has no firewire port. I don't care about that as I have a dual pentium 4 PC which I use for video editing, I edit video for a living, so this PC will not be needed for capturing video. It does have the typical card readers and plenty of usb ports however.

5 out of 5 eggsThis machine rocks

Pros: a 5 rating on the Vista Performance rating. Never check this with the installed card but installed a GeForce 8600 GT card with 512 right away. Good combination. Normally wouldn't go with a Gateway but recommendations were good and rightfully so. Warcraft runs great of course.

Cons: Haven't found any yet.

5 out of 5 eggsThis machine rocks!

Pros: This Computer is Awesome, Windows Vista runs perfectly on this machine for me, Absolutely no problems at all for me. This computer has the Vista Home premium SP1 already installed, I am very happy with Vista on this machine. Don't be afraid to order this computer because of Vista. The way the computer is setup and Sp1 make all the difference. Like others have said this machine is a beast. I have also had no problems with third party drivers or programs on this machine that are Vista compatible. Gateway did there homework and a great job with this one.

Cons: None for me!

Other Thoughts: Buy this Machine.
