4 out of 5 eggsI like it

Pros: Nice all in one. Good display, keyboard and mouse.
No problems after 6 months daily use. Decent price point.

Cons: Not a fan of touch screen and do not use. Just makes your screen dirty. Included software is a little weak.
Recommend downloading Open Office.

Other Thoughts: I am a fan of this type of design due to it's space saving features.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for Kids

Pros: PROs:Sleek all in one design lets it fit very nicely in their small study nook. Construction seems solid, not cheap and flimsy. The large display is crystal clear and excellent for the kids games, watching movies etc. They think the touch screen is really cool as well, although they don't use it that much. Excellent wireless speed, surfs the net great despite only getting two bars of signal from my router on the other side of the house. Wireless mouse and keyboard work great too. The only thing I had to plug in was the power chord and I had it up and running in minutes

Cons: CONs: Bloatware is common with Gateway and this one is no exception, I took a few minutes to remove some of the unwanted programs - minor nuisance. Unit came with Media Center, and a Media Center remote, and was clearly built with the secondary purpose of being a TV as well as a PC. Ironically - no TV tuner installed. Perhaps that's why my unit from another vendor was much less expensive that other 6900 series I seen on line. Wasn't looking for another TV, just thought it was weird it came with a remote, and no tuner.

Other Thoughts: Bought a ZX6971 from another vendor about 2 months ago on sale for $500 and change. Needed an extra computer for the kids (12 & 9) who were spending too much time on mom & dad's PC. My version doesn't have quite the horsepower of the other 6900's series I'm seeing going fron 600-800 $$ - I've only has a pentium processor running about 2.6 GHZ with 3GB of RAM, but it works great and seems plenty fast for what we need. We're not running Photoshop or any serious graphic intense games. Not sure how it would handle that. Was leary about Gateway given their checkered past but saw lots of postive reviews on their stuff lately (most on laptops). Now that I've got it I see more negative stuff popping up after people have had their computers 6 months - yr. Guess we'll see how it goes, but so far we like this one a lot.
