1 out of 5 eggsDead on Arrival but No Returns!

Pros: Compact

Cons: Was Dead on Arrival (PS came on, CPU runs at max speed but no beeps, POST or video). Called Gateway support and they offered to "service" it (e.g. replace in 6 weeks or so) but wouldn't accept returns. Contacted NewEgg support and their policy does not allow a return either! Brand new unit, never worked and NO return?

Other Thoughts: It's hard to believe that neither the manufacturer nor the retailer will refund on a defect unit.

1 out of 5 eggsMerry Xmas?

Pros: It's small and light, I guess?

Cons: DOA
I bought it for my parents to replace their ancient (2004) Pentium 4 PC, and gave it to them for Xmas. I plugged everything in and hit the power button. No bueno. The fans spun up, the lights came on, nothing else. The mouse LED never came on, the keyboard lights never blinked or anything, there were no BIOS beeps to give me anywhere to start.

I didn't have time to dismantle it to see if it's something that came loose in shipping. When I took the side panel off it looked really cramped in there, so I expect some pain with that.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Budget PC

Pros: quiet
i'm impressed by the apu processor
does not take up much space
4gb of ram with the possibility of 16gb
500gb hard drive is sufficient for now
windows 7 and not windows 8

Cons: upgrading is limited due to the size

i had some problems with the first pc, but newegg sent me a replacements and have yet to have any trouble.

gateways tech support is awful

Other Thoughts: i bought this computer to replace my 6 year old dead pc. i use this computer for general purposes, and some gaming. for what i use it for, it does the job well.
l4d2 8x6 low setting 50-80fps
tf2 1280x720 low settings 40-60fps
WoW 1280x720 low settings 40-70fps

would have been 5 stars if not for gateways tech support. newegg is the way to go

2 out of 5 eggsSeems Ok...

Pros: Cheap PC. Seems to have been working so far.. after needing repair.

Cons: Poor quality build... Not sure how this past QC. When powering the PC it would only light up and the fans going full blast. I opened the computer to re-seat everything. When I unclipped the heatsink for the CPU, the CPU came with it. There were around 14 bent pins on the CPU. Fortunately I was able to straighten them enough to go into the socket. Normal user wouldn't have been able to figure this out and fix, costing them return shipping costs. I do realize there is always a lemon in the bunch... hopefully it was just mine that was bad.

Other Thoughts: Bought one for a friend and had my father buy one. Hopefully the one my father got is in better shape.

4 out of 5 eggsWe like it. Slim and sleek Media Center Unit

Pros: Sleek
4GB DRAM + 6410D Adapter
Not much bloatware
2*USB 3.0 ports
3 Extra Memory slots
1 * PCI-E and 1 * PCI

Need to figure out if the DVD drive can be replaced by a Blu-Ray.

If you are looking for a home theater PC, this would fit the bill, perfectly.

Cons: No built-in wireless
No documentation nor media

Other Thoughts: When I bought, the spec read Wireless b/g/n which has been removed from the spec. Newegg offered to refund. Explained that we wanted to keep it and if there is any means for compensating us and Newegg offered to give 20$ credit which we believe is fair.

1 out of 5 eggslol

Pros: Low price. So far, meets my needs for a spare pc. Adequate processor and RAM for the price.

Cons: Doesn't have WLAN as stated in specs posted on Newegg website. DVD eject button inoperable out of the box but can be manually opened, not good for a non-refurb. Gateway tech supports is terrible, don't waste your time. First bad experience with both Gateway and Newegg and leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

Other Thoughts: Hope y'all have better luck if you decide to order this one.
