5 out of 5 eggsGreat PC out of the box, easy for upgrades

Pros: Best processor/HD combo that I know of in this price range. 4 Ram slots, (upgradeable to 16gb) Easy to upgrade.

Cons: Integrated graphics. Lightweight PSU. (300W) Each slot can only read 4gb. (So the max you can upgrade is 16gb, not 32gb.)

Other Thoughts: Easy to upgrade, which I had in mind as I was buying. I maxed out the RAM slots, copied the OS over to a Sandisk 240GB SSD, and the 2tb HD in the expansion bay simply for storage, put in a Corsair 850W Power supply, and Nvidia 650 graphics card. Doode.... this thing freaking flies. Altogether I spent about $1,200... and this thing way outperforms "gaming" PC's in that price range. Use it mainly for photography, graphic design, etc, so the GPU, CPU and RAM were necessary for me. The SSD was just for giggles. I love it. If you aren't doing anything particularly graphics intensive, then you really wouldn't need to do anything. Overall great deal, solid PC.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I shopped around for a computer to meet my daughter's computer graphics classes' needs but I did not want to put a lot into a new computer. I have been very satisfied. It is fast enough for her needs and has possessed a sufficient HD.. She has wanted to upgrade the video card but may get another computer. But I plan to keep this one for my youngest. My daughter checked into a Gateway with Windows 8 but they are not as good as this Windows 7. Too bad.

Cons: I have not found any yet.

Other Thoughts: I had read on here that several used this one for gaming. Well, it works sufficiently for creating graphics without spending the high end prices.

2 out of 5 eggsHorrible support

Pros: Box appears to function as expected.

Cons: Gateway (now Acer) support is horrible. When trying to seek help in adding drive to secondary bay I was told inaccurate/conflicting information. When I asked for hardware manual I was told the no such doc exists. Only service manual but it was for internal use only. I remarked that they should forego putting screws on the case and weld it shut. They didn't budge. I will avoid purchasing Acer or Gateway products from now on.

5 out of 5 eggsJust works

Pros: No fruits or aliens were used to make this product.

Cons: USB3 ports are in rear instead of front.
Windows pre-installed and probably makes it pricier than it could be.

Other Thoughts: Removed Windows. Installed linux Mint Mate.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Bought it to gut it for parts. Everything was a breeze. Popped out the i7 3770 for use a new build.

-Setup was a breeze. I used the gateway restore application to make backup CDs to restore to factory settings. This let me set up a second Harddrive very easily.

-I ended up saving money by buying this and using the memory, HD, processor etc in a custom build. Ended up using the PSU on an old PC.

Cons: None. Sad that Gateway isn't what it used to be though. I called tech support to inquire about a chirping sound the included Seagate barracuda was making, and they wanted me to send the whole thing in.

Ended up using the 2TB HDD as a backup drive.

Other Thoughts: Definately recomend this system to anyone. If you're a gamer however, you will need a beefier power supply and dedicated video card.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Computer

Pros: Fast, quiet, boots quickly. I finally bought a new computer after 10 years and I have to say I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. Windows 7 takes just a bit of getting used to after using XP for so long but not much of a problem. I have always bought Gateway computers and have never had issues with them. This is my 3rd computer in probably 15 years. I've always had to buy mid grade computers because i couldn't afford higher end computers but the sale price on this one put it in my budget. Everything about this computer has been great. Plus, it is very upgradable and easily so.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Have upgraded power supply and maxed out the memory. Next on the list is a graphics card and this set up should hold me over for a pretty long while. I don't do a lot of gaming on the computer but this set up will provide me with the ability to play some games I wasn't able to in the past and play some of the current games I am looking to buy.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I purchased this computer to serve as the 'mother ship' for my other devices, and also as a multimedia PC. I have it connected
to a 42" HDTV via HDMI.

Glad to have gotten a Windows 7 machine while they are still available to ride out the Win 8 "storm".
