1 out of 5 eggsGave it two chances

Pros: Cheap IF everything was to work fine.

Cons: Didn't last 1 day for me.

Other Thoughts: So the day I received the product I installed everything and left it on for 1 day. The computer shut down and when i tried turning it back on, it just makes 4 blinking red lights and beeping noise. From searching online I guess it's indicating a power supply failure. So I just thought I had a bad egg and returned it for another one, which I shouldn't have. The exact same thing happened again. I wanted to refund it but it was too late. I wish I didn't procrastinate on setting up the second one.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast, for the money, I like it. I bought two in December/2010 but....

Cons: Like other reviews, one computer came with 1GB. After trading emails with them, trying to get them to send another 1GB,which they said they could not do ( I did not want another computer) I gave up. Now there is a issue with the video. No issues with the second computer.

5 out of 5 eggsResponse to N/A

Pros: The 2 machines I purchased came with a genuine Windows XP Pro OS installation disks. My machines did not have a recovery partition, and the full 80GB was available. There is a Windows XP COA sticker (2 actually) on the machine, so it's definitely rebuild-able if you even have a tiny hint of tech skills.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure what machines N/A got, but I can vouch for the 2 I purchased. I hate recovery disks. If I needed to rebuild a machine, I would much rather start from scratch and install Windows and whatever drivers / software I choose. Once that is done to a point that makes me happy, I would create my own recovery image. I mean, how long does it take to install Windows XP + drivers from scratch? 2 hours maybe?? Jeez.

5 out of 5 eggsAnother good one

Pros: The price is great for what you get. The machine was spotless inside and out (no dust). Besides a couple minor scratches on the outside (very minor), it looked brand new. Specs are good, and the machine is quite fast.

Cons: None. This came with 2GB RAM installed, not 1GB like some of the others, so that issue has most likely been resolved.

Other Thoughts: Setup was easy, and there was zero bloatware. One other machine I got had a broken keyboard (previous review), but everything worked OK on this one. Would definitely purchase more!

2 out of 5 eggsRefurbished has a price

Pros: Decent machine for the price.

Cons: Because these are reburbished you do not get to make recovery disks. If your hard drive fails, nothing you can do. If you want to remove the recovery partition, nothing you can do. Thanks to the way HP setup the drives cloning is a huge pain. If you want to remove the recovery partition you are forced to purchase disks from HP. Also HP claims these are out of warrenty to no tech support.

Other Thoughts: I purchased 20 of these to put out in the field. I regret I didn't spend a little more on something else. I really feel like newegg pulled a fast one here. Recovery disks (lack thereof) is a huge deal in my world given how restricted you are without them.

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost perfect

Pros: Booted right up out of the box with no issues, except...

Cons: The keyboard that came with the unit did not work. We had a spare keyboard that worked fine, so it was not worth contacting Newegg or the refurbishing company to replace.

Other Thoughts: Everything else was as advertised. Despite the KB issue, I think this is a great machine for the cost. Includes a legit Windows XP license. This was used for a register system, so they didn't need anything fancy. Purchased the 1-year extended warranty just in case.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Responsive

Pros: Small form factor and has a PCI-e video card slot. I purchased a PCI-e video card to replace the onboard video and it works without any issues. It's actually not bad, can handle task without any issues. I added 2 more gig of ram for a total of 3gb. I'm planing to use this as a second HTPC but I haven't really tested it for that but I'm sure it should be able to handle it.

Cons: Looks like I got the same problems as all the other reviews. The unit came with only 1gb of ram (1 stick). Newegg took care of it when I contacted them. I wonder if all of the stock they have came with only 1gb anyway kudos for Newegg for taking care of their customers but, they should correct the specs or at least check the product to ensure that there won't be any other issues with future buyers.

Other Thoughts: Got this unit during the black Friday deals with 50% discount on extended warranty so I took the 2 year with this. Good buy overall!

3 out of 5 eggsDoesn't come with 2GB, but otherwise good

Pros: Fairly fast for only running on 1GB. Runs quiet. Core2Duo machine for decent price.

Cons: Only shipped with 1GB, RMA'd the item and got another one with 1GB. I complained and they are sending me another 1GB of RAM. Kind of annoying that they don't check the product before advertising it for 2GB. Machine was a little dinged up, has lightscribe software installed but no lightscribe drive.

Other Thoughts: Hope Newegg will correct the listing for this product to say only 1GB(2x512MB) of RAM instead of fooling everyone into thinking it is 2GB and then having to correct the problem. Memory is cheap, but the item is listed as having 2GB and I want what I paid for.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good business class computers that still need xp pro

Dual core definitely fast enough to run most programs for xp

Cons: only came with 1 GB memory. It's advertised on here as 2GB but regardless even with 1 GB it's still a good deal as memory is cheap to add

Other Thoughts: great computer if you still need xp

great office computer
