3 out of 5 eggs1/2 So far...

Pros: First machine ran well for a basic computer. One machine came with a wireless mouse / keyboard.

Cons: Second machine has a defective hard drive, freezes up after 10 seconds of loading Windows. Currently trying to RMA with the "Manufacturer" Ecom Direct Inc.

Other Thoughts: I have purchased two of these computers, and they are a good value when on sale. One machine came with a wireless mouse / keyboard. The second machine came with a wired mouse / keyboard set.

5 out of 5 eggsFollowup

Pros: Very inexpensive.
Came with a WIRELESS keyboard and mouse!

Cons: You have to have a decent idea of how to install an OS and find drivers.

Other Thoughts: This is mainly a followup to my previous review. I did a little more digging, mainly just pulling the stickers off the computer and found out this is actually a Compaq originally. Of course HP and Compaqs are now the same things. The original model for this computer is CQ-2713w. However, since this motherboard is shared between a few models on both the HP and Compaq side, the drivers form any of the models listed in the feedback here will work. I added another 2GB stick of RAM to this machine as well, and it did speed it up, not that it was slow to begin with.

5 out of 5 eggsHiden jewel

Pros: All components inside computer are brand new.

After finding and installing all necessary drivers and win windows 7 I was surprised how fast and quick in responding the computer was.

Cons: Wish it came with proprietary CD and the drivers with.
It took me a while to identify and locate all the drivers for it.
The computer is a carbon copy of a HP Pavilion P2-1033.
So that will help to dentify all the drivers.

Other Thoughts: This computer, in my opinion is great for the price
I highly recommend!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Basic Computer

Pros: Extremely cheap and works perfectly for a cheap PC. It plays 1080p video without a problem. It uses very little power, and is extremely quiet, so it makes a great HTPC. I installed Windows 7 without any problems. This makes a great work PC or just a basic PC for browsing the net.

Cons: Doesn't use a standard power supply, uses a laptop power supply instead. Kind of odd for a desktop.

Other Thoughts: First of all, the drivers are readily available on HP's site. You just have to use the original model number for the PC, which is P2-1124. It only supports Windows 7, but why would anyone buy a new PC and want to use anything else? This is no gaming PC, but it handles basic flash games and facebook games wonderfully.

1 out of 5 eggsSorry I Bought It

Pros: Low price if you can tolerate stress

Other Thoughts: Tried to contact manufacturer to no avail, phone # no good, no reply to e-mails

1 out of 5 eggsPainful

Pros: The low price

Cons: Painful to install since it doesn't come with a drivers disk. Search the internet and hp site and cannot find the ethernet driver or sound drivers so how am I suppose to get connected? Not worth the pain for the price.

Other Thoughts: The mouse doa. Had to open and fix the sticking clicking button. Returning the mouse.

4 out of 5 eggsSimilar to cooking

Pros: The price point is by far an away the high light of this particular build. There are no other Pros vs other computers

Cons: Was difficult in getting it set up first, the hardware can be difficult. If you've purchased this machine, can't get it to work, or are wondering how it will operate, see my notes in the "Other Thoughts" section.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for $200 for my grandfather to replace a computer that was purchased in 2003 (512 ram, etc...). Newegg shipped it fast and furious to my grandfather, who proudly exclaimed he had been able to unbox it. After setting it up originally, I was going to put Windows 7 on it. After the install, it wouldn't recognize any network connections, because it did not have any drivers for the network card on the motherboard.

Solution for this problem:
I plugged in a wireless network adapter, Windows 7 recognized it immediately (150M Wireless Adapter WIFI 802.11n/g/b USB SONY Toshiba)
I set Windows updating as per it's usual routine on a fresh install, and in the updates was a driver for the network card built into the motherboard. Since that happened, everything worked fine.

This is a very basic computer, good for browsing, writing documents, and putting together spreadsheets. This is not a gaming machine, but if you were looking at this computer for gaming, I assume Tie F
