5 out of 5 eggsDeployed 50 of these

Pros: Work well, good price point, digital and analog graphics

Cons: no hard drive expansion room

Other Thoughts: Not sure what the other guys issue is, I havn't purchased these from newegg but I don't like seeing them put down unnecessarily. I've deployed about 70 of these

5 out of 5 eggsSo far, no problems

Pros: Recieved this computer earlier today, hooked it right up, and began transferring information over our SMB network with no problem. Downloaded Dell and Windows updates from the Internet, loaded programs from other computers, completed the Windows Easy transfer between it and an Optiplex 320 running XP Pro SP3. The hard drive is fast, plus the hyper-threading enables this dual-core to handle more at a time than the old 320. The dual-channel RAM is great, too, a nice improvement from the single-sided RAM in the 320.

Cons: None at this point.

Other Thoughts: I started as a computer support specialist for this company about 3 months ago. In the process of upgrading equipment and software, we've had a mix of XP and Win 7, plus a Qnap NAS, and our firewall is not happy. I've had to set up a simple DNS server inside to help properly route the different protocols. With all of that, this computer has not given me any problems when using the network. I use the taks manager and sidebar gadgets to watch the network activity, as well as the CPU and RAM when I'm working, and, so far, this computer has been steady on!

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy. Network connectivity issues

Pros: Boots

Cons: I've purchased two of these. I'm using them, as well as 10 other devices on, on a Linksys EZXS16W.

From the moment we recieved these two PCs they were the only devices in this office with network connectivity problems. After hours of trying driver and BIOS updates, rollbacks, Windows Updates etc, the intermittent connectivity issues remain unresolved.

Dell advised they would send two new motherboards and a tech to replace. I advised that unless MB was a newer revision they would have the same problem.

They only sent one. When I called it took over an hour for them to match the Service Tag to the seller, which was "Ingram Micro" not "Newegg".

The supervisior finally figured that out after I asked twice to speak with him

Maenwhile the new MB was the same revision, so unsurprisingly we had the same problem.

They advised to now reinstall the OS to factory default. I advised that I already know factory default is broken.

They said if that doesn't work they send n

Other Thoughts: Category 5 Diaster is an understatement here. It took 45 minutes just to get them to speak to us, because we didnt know that the secret password was "ingram Micro".

I kept asking the if there wasn't a more reasonable solution. We already know that MB didn't fix PC1, why should they have to waste everyone's time, money, and patience with that fiasco.

I asked if they could send a rep to reinstall the OS and restore all the files and few programs we need to run our business. They advised that they couldn't.

I asked if they could send us some NICs, as I am pretty sure that would solve the problem and be cheapeast for everyone. They advised they couldn't.

Finally, I asked to be transfered to customer care. I asked the customer care rep for a Dell credit, so I could buy some NICs from Dell. No dice there either.

The lesson to be learned here is not only never to buy this Optiplex System, but also to never buy anything from Dell.

Asus may be smaller, but it's also Nigh
