4 out of 5 eggsBest for cheap workstations

Pros: Cheap!!! Generic parts! The 2 gigs of ram are only using 1 slot! Got on sale for $360.00
Very easy to upgrade.
A "Dell" branded windows 7 install disk!!!!

Cons: No AHCI mode in the bios, unheard of for an H61 chipset!!!!
What is Dell doing!?!?! The hard drive speed is the bottleneck in this system. Will only do 7.4 on the windows hard drive peformance scale with a SSD attached. My Asus boards with the same chipset will do 7.7

Other Thoughts: I bought 5 of these. The first thing I did to them was put 8 Gigs of ram in and a Samsung SSD, which only added about $110 to $135 to the cost but greatly speeded up the machines.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: Windows 7 Pro, very solid specs for an office pc. I was looking for a replacement for one of our office pcs that burnt out, this was a perfect fit.

Cons: Only 2GB Ram, but that's enough for most office users.

Other Thoughts: Wish the usb/headphone/mic jacks were closer to the top, but that's more of a personal preference.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Basic System

Pros: Windows 7 instead of Windows 8
i3 instead of Gxxx-series unusual at this (sale) price point
Compact system with simple interface

Cons: 2 GB RAM and 250 GB hard drive

Other Thoughts: Needed a basic system to update a 2004 Dell, and didn't want to build it. This fit the bill fine.

The OS and hardware seem to be fine, and the Win7 transfer tool worked well to transfer user files and settings.

Added a 500 GB secondary drive, and 4 GB RAM.

With the 24" Zalman monitor on sale, it's a nice upgrade.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Specs

Pros: i3 processor is the only good thing about it.

Cons: Everything is bad, 2gb ram, 300W PSU, etc etc.

Other Thoughts: Rather just buy a barebone kit or even better, buy parts and build it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: Very good price, nice processor, and I like that it comes with a Windows 7 recovery disk (it seems like a lot of manufacturers leave these out now). I bought 10 of these and implemented them into an office environment. Everyone was using Pentium 4s and these are lightning fast compared to those. I have heard no complaints.

Cons: 2GB of ram is pretty weak, but is easily upgradeable. All ten that I bought are now running at least 4GB.

Other Thoughts: I would buy this product again without hesitation.

4 out of 5 eggsStudent and Gaming

Pros: I find the overall computer very nice. It is clean, quiet, efficient, easy to set up. If you know what you are doing you can upgrade the ram and other aspects if you feel it doesnt go fast enough.

Cons: Comes with 2GB of ram. Easily replaced with $35 of ram which makes this thing run like crazy.

Other Thoughts: The shipping was weird.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk Pass on this one

Pros: suppossed dell logo

Cons: This machine has been erratic out of the box. It has been very slow connecting to the internet and when it goes into sleep mode and you shake the mouse it needs rebooted for it to function properly. It could not connect to the internet after a week and i called dell tech support and they said a setting needs to enabled which would help the computer communicate better with the router but NEED TO BUY A SOFTWARE WARRANTY FOR $239/- laughed told them dont need dell so bad they are junk anyways. Will return back and STAY AWAY FROM DELL FOR GOOD.

Other Thoughts: Poor customer service unable to diagnose the problem and they want me to buy a $239 software warranty to fix the problem. STAY AWAY FROM DELL. You have to transfer the warranty on this machine and these could be a defective lot of machines

2 out of 5 eggsMissing In Action

Pros: The computer is inexpensive, but as I learned you get what you pay for in this case. The speed is average.

Cons: The single expansion card slot is apparently not standard sized. My Nvedia GeForce card does not fit (grrr). I had hoped to speed up the video using the card I have, but I guess not. As is typical, Dell computers come loaded with junk software and I spent an hour removing most of it, but there are still some programs taking up memory that I've yet to figure out how to completely remove.

Other Thoughts: At the same time I ordered the computer, I also ordered 2X4 GB memory to replace the barely adequate 2 GB that comes with the computer. It would have been nice if Newegg had a link to the correct memory cards when you order the machine, but it took me a few minutes to figure out which memory was compatible.

5 out of 5 eggsvery satisfied

Pros: Good price, quiet, relatively fast. Been running 24/7 for last 10 days without a problem. Not a gamer so can't comment on those aspects.

Cons: None as of yet.
