4 out of 5 eggsGood overall Desktop

Pros: It runs quickly. I have an exactly 1 minute start up time, which is a huge improvement over my gateway. I have no problems so far.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Got mine from a friend who had extra unused from his workplace. I put in a quick graphics card so I can hook it up to a projector via HDMI.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Budget PC

Pros: Functional workstations, we bought one as a cheap replacement and liked it enough to purchase another. Speed is good, parts are all in working condition, no real performance issues

Cons: RAM is a little low for the level of the other hardware, and there's no real assurance on what brand/speed you'll get from PC to PC

Other Thoughts: Sometimes I think about getting a puppy but dogs are a big responsibility compared to cats

2 out of 5 eggsDid not contain everything as advertised!

Pros: Arrived quickly in working condition.

Cons: Scratches on case - expected for an off-lease unit.

Other Thoughts: The PC did not have the DVI connector on a discrete graphics card as shown in the photo. Instead, the unit came with a VGA connector on the motherboard. I made the purchase based on the DVI connector being provided so I would not have to purchase a graphics card separately to save on cost.

3 out of 5 eggsNice PC, But Shabby Refurbish

Pros: Bought while on special for $199.00 plus $49 for a 1 year extended warranty. For that price, very nice solid PC. This is for an elderly retired preacher at our church. New copy of Windows 7 Premium. And came with 160 gig hard drive even though advertised as 80 gig. Everything seems to work. The PC seems fast. I added 2 additional gigs of memory just to make sure.

Cons: These are supposedly factory refurbished. In truth they are Dell off-lease units refurbished by Micro Technology Concepts. (MTC). The first one I was sent had severe scratches on both sides and on top. And on the top panel, appears MTC took a buffer and tried to buff the scratches out of the plastic. It looked terrible. So I called NewEgg and they sent me a second one. The second looks much better but still has light scratches on the sides. I decided to keep it anyway because I’m tire of the RMA game and the retired preacher needs his PC.

Other Thoughts: MTC should do a better job of refurbishing these and NewEgg should likely state that these unit may have cosmetic flaws.

Also, according to the tags on the case, theses unit came new with Windows Vista. It appears that MTC’s refurb included replacing the hard drive (original 250 gig probably removed for security), adding an additional 1 gig of memory (for total of 2) and installing Windows 7 Premium.

Again, I think these are still good PC’s for the price and they seem to perform well. But buyers just need to know what they are getting.
