1 out of 5 eggsBad Quality

Pros: Great CPU with a fair amount of ram. It is fast when it works.

Cons: Horrible quality , after a two month it would not start up . Dell service replaced the wrong parts ( a motherboard and a power supply). They needed to replace the video card. Now customer service would not honor warranty because apparently my service tag does not exist even though they already did a warranty on it.

Other Thoughts: I chose Dell for an office computer for the warranty , now i know how mistaken i was. Stay away from Dell

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent/Fast Monster of a Computer

Pros: I have been setting up and working on my new XPS 8500 that arrived a week ago. So far, everything is running perfect and super fast/smoothly. I am not used to such a responsive system. I almost feel as if I got overkill for a desktop PC. But I figure that will help me hold on to this 'monster' of a computer for at least a few more years longer that I would have normally.

Cons: There are no real "cons" that would merit a lower rating below 5 eggs. However, the only component of this XPS 8500 that I found worth replacing was the Radeon HD 7570 video card. I currently have an HD 5770 card on my older computer and it is at least 2x as powerful when compared to what's included in this XPS desktop. So I have ordered an HD 7850 card as an upgrade (also through NewEgg) and will be placing this into my new desktop.

Other Thoughts: To my suprise, Windows 8 recognizes the 'logic processors' within Intel i7-3770 CPU architecture. So instead of just showing the 4 cores, it actually shows it as 8 cores (4 cores + 4 logic processors). It's nice to open up the "task manager" in Win8 and see the real-time readings shown on the "performance" tab. The CPU is shown as 8 cores. It let's you see how much processing power you aren't using and the vast potential the i7-3770 holds for future OS's and software.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I love this system. Two weeks before I bought this system I purchased an IBuyPower Azza Solaris w/i7 3770. What a disappointment. The Azza ran poorly, and in many instances ran inferior to my six year old HP AMD tower with a Radeon HD 5750. When the power button broke after a week of use, I returned it and bought the Dell 8500. I am soooo glad that I did. The Dell runs like a racehorse out of the box. Better memory, better motherboard, better graphics card, better everything. I am beyond glad that I traded in the first system for the Dell 8500.

Cons: As usual, Dell always seems to provide the bare minimum power supply. Easily upgrade and worth it to support the tower and future upgrades if you decide to do so...

Other Thoughts: I have always been an AMD person so this is my first foray into Intel. I thought I would try "the other side of the coin" and to date, I am more than impressed.
