1 out of 5 eggsBlue screens

Pros: Got this for a great price considering the equipment and Windows 7.

Cons: Been fighting blue screens since the first week and it seems to have gotten worse as of yesterday. It wouldn't even finish booting this morning before throwing a "STOP" blue screen. I'm going to have to see what the return policy is now.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor quality refurb

Pros: Cheap price in a small package with decent performance.

Cons: Bought two units. One is missing screws in different spots, the side door wouldn't come off (wrong door used for the model) and had to be forced off, then forced back on. Same unit with bad side panel operation is 20% slower than the other, despite duplicate OS installation and same listed specs. Broadcom network chips are different between units for some reason.

Other Thoughts: I've purchased hundreds of refurb Dell systems over the last decade, and reburishes can be hit or miss depending on who is doing the work. Call me jaded, but I have yet to reach out to Newegg or the refurbisher (Joy Systems) to complain due to past experiences with low-quality refurb work. If I had my way, I'd return one of these units for a full refund, but honestly not sure it's worth the hassle for the cost of the system. I'd personally recommend avoiding this purchase in particular and look elsewhere unless you're savvy enough with Dell equipment to fix everything they missed.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Basic PC

Pros: - Core 2 Duo Processor
- 4 GB Ram
- 1 TB HD
- Windows 7 Professional
- Whisper quiet
- Solid build quality, but still small/light enough to move around should you need to
- Worked instantly out of the box
- Included power cable, keyboard, and mouse
- Cheaper than the sum of its components (OS included)

Cons: - No Graphics Card (but at this price, not really worth griping about). PC requires a VGA cable and VGA-compatible monitor as a result.

- PC slugs a little bit while under load or multi-tasking (again, at this price, can't complain too much)

Other Thoughts: I was going to build a budget desktop from scratch, but then realized that this PC was a much better build for a much cheaper price (after factoring OS).

PC worked straight out of the box, just plug in the power, monitor, keyboard, and mouse and you are ready to go.

As long as the components hold up and the PC lasts me a while, I would highly recommend this as a great entry level PC for younger children, grandparents, or anyone that just needs a simple pc for simple needs. Obviously this computer would not be good for hardcore gaming.
