3 out of 5 eggsGood for what it is...

Pros: The 3.0GHz C2D processor speed vs. other Dell refurbs out there offer 1.8GHz-2.66GHz. The C2D chipset lives on!

64-bit OS

Mine came very clean on the inside with no dust at all, including in the heat sink and cooling fan.. It looks hardly used (only a minor scuff or two on the outside).

While technically a SFF case, it will fit a full sized video card (see cons).

Four USB (2.0) inputs on the front of the case, six more in the back. No USB hub for peripherals needed with this.

Quiet and efficient on power draw, considering it has a cheap 305W power supply (see cons). My Kill A Watt meter averaged about 50-55W draw at the wall during normal usage on this thing.

Good looking case with reasonable working room on the inside.

Cons: Power supply has no spare PCIe connectors for a dedicated GPU upgrade, but I expected that in an OEM.

Slack on the HDD - a Western Digital Blue 160GB. Really? In a so-called "premium business class" computer, even if this one is from Dell's model year circa 2009? Weak.

No Windows 7 disk. Other refurbs out there have a copy that comes with the system.

Other Thoughts: As a builder (who still has an old 3.0GHz C2D overclocked 4.3GHz gaming rig), this deal was hard to pass up at $180 on sale for a basic desktop.

It may be lacking in the HDD, RAM, and power supply department, but I bought this for my mother who was still using a 10-year old Dell Pentium 4 and XP that just couldn't handle today's most basic Flash and Adobe programs.

You can easily sink another $200-$300+ in upgrades into this thing to get it up to snuff to today's OEM rigs (power supply, video card, RAM, HDD), so make sure it meets your needs. Otherwise you'll be better off buying a new OEM desktop.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Received this as an "upgrade" to the refurb unit i ordered. Great unit, eveything worked as expected. Downgraded it to Windows XP since I needed it as a test rig. Dell had all the drivers on thier website, up and running in only a few hours, still have HD that came with it with Win& home for when I am done using it as a tester. Solid Dell unit.

Cons: Make sure you know it is DVD-ROM only, not a writer.

Other Thoughts: Excellent solid unit for office use

4 out of 5 eggsImpressive

Pros: Great performance at a great price for a system that is 1 generation old. If are primarily using a home PC for Office applications and internet browsing, this is the system for you.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat deal for the price.

Pros: Built and performs like a tank. No case dings or scratches. No bloatware loaded. Mine came and worked perfect. It is a tower form factor. Processor is a good Intel E8400 Core 2 Duo {3.0Ghz, 6MB L2 Cache}.

Cons: Short on hardware {as expected for the price?}. Only 2GB RAM {4GB preferred}; 160GB hard drive {not enough for me}; only a DVD-ROM drive {not even a CD Writer!}; 305 Watt Power Supply {might not be enough headroom if adding more hardware}. Too, it had some sort of "dummy" PCI-e DVI Video Card, branded by Dell, that was NOT a video card {only onboard video worked}. This card was NOT detected by BIOS nor Windows Device Manager. I trashed it.

Other Thoughts: This is a business class workhorse computer that can serve you O.K. in its current state. Add some $ 100.00 in hardware upgrades {RAM, larger hard drive, DVD-RW} and it will be superb. In its price class, this is well worth the purchase. I have previously configured 4 of these exact units and have had no call backs.

2 out of 5 eggsGood computer, less than impressive service...

Pros: The computer itself is great - case was in nearly new condition and very clean inside. RAM was two separate 1 GB sticks. Hard drive was a WD Caviar, 7200 RPM. OS was 64 bit.

Cons: First, though the specs list a DVD+/-RW, what came was simply a DVD ROM. I contacted Newegg to get this resolved and went round and round with them for quite a lot of time. Finally, they did make it right and shipped a DVD writer to me at no cost and I'm thankful for this, but still, I seem to remember Newegg having better service than this in the past.

Similarly, there is absolutely no paperwork or OS disks included with this at all. Yes, I realize that there is no disk pictured in the photos, but you would think that would be standard. When I contacted Newegg, they were very unhelpful and referred me to Dell, who was also unhelpful because the computer was out of warranty.
