5 out of 5 eggsVery impressed with the quality

Pros: Some of the nicest refurbished PCs I've ever purchased. Clean inside and out, nicely equipped, no missing parts.

Cons: Cheap keyboard and mouse, but the system unit is top-notch.

Other Thoughts: I've purchased several different refurbished systems that were done by JOY systems. I haven't been disappointed yet, unlike my experience with a couple of the other refurbishers that sell through Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsBang for the buck

Pros: Cost
Cleanliness
Fast
Genuine Windows 7 Pro Key
Solid System

We are using these as stations for sales agents and have no issues with them. Added them to our domain and Active Directory with no issues. Windows key is legit and all is sound. Came with a keyboard and mouse, which is nice.

Cons: Had to install the video card driver as it only had a Windows-based driver for the integrated video. I noticed that if you do not install the one from Dell, the system is a bit unstable (graphics display crash), which is normal. Just takes a couple minutes to install, so no big deal.

Other Thoughts: Wish it came with 64 bit. Can't complain though.

5 out of 5 eggsJust as stated

Pros: Great price point for this PC. DVD drive. Easily connected to the domain without any issues. The computer was wiped well and booted quickly. The overall cleanliness of this computer was great. I have not had any issues at all since installing this unit. Ordered Microsoft Office for this unit and it runs everything associated with it well.

Cons: The only negative I can come up with at this point would be the cheapness of the keyboard and mouse, but that is easily looked past due to the price point of this computer. We just used the mouse and keyboard off of the Dell we replaced.

Other Thoughts: This is a great unit for the price. I would definitely purchase this computer again. It's hard to be critical of this computer when it comes with Windows 7 Pro already installed (which on it own cost around $140)

5 out of 5 eggsRefurb Dell OptiPlex 755

Pros: Great price and performance with an optimal configuration for a normal computer user.

Cons: Not adequate for a power user requiring more memory, SSD hard drive, and/or Windows 8.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Great price, needed an affordable solution to replacing a much older PC for a location that is usually right at break even, so they can't afford much. PC has been running fine.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGood Business Machines

Pros: The machines are simple, clean, and durable.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It is unfortunate that people give things a bad review based on their own lack of knowledge. Such as another poster complaining because it did not come with Word. Really? MS Word has NEVER been built into Windows, it is a part of the Office Suite. Also, do not buy this if you expect a machine with lots of extra ports, expansion options, etc. It was built to be a low cost long lasting workstation.

4 out of 5 eggsSFF (Small Form Factor)

Pros: For not much more than the price of a Windows 7 Pro 32-bit (<UGH>, but it'll do) license, you get a decent computer.

These are likely previously leased corporate computers. It was clean, and the fan blades were relatively dust-free.
It is as claimed and came with a slightly customized (Joy Systems name is found on System|Properties) install of Windows 7 Pro.

The supplied license key (sticker on the computer) successfully activated the install.

Take note that Dell does not have any Windows 7 drivers for this machine. However, the pre-installed Windows 7 OS was not missing any drivers in Device Manager.

I also purchased an SSD to use as the boot drive, with the 250GB HDD to be used for backups of the SSD.

The eSATA port on the motherboard is an actual SATA port, not just an IDC connector. That's a big plus.

Cons: There are a few cons.

The system has only 2 SATA ports (both internal) and 1 eSATA port (also internal), but with so little room in the case, that's not really a big drawback.

Joy Systems does NOT update the BIOS. It had an o-l-d revision from long ago. As part of refurbishing, they really ought to flash the BIOS.

The eSATA port is disabled, and located under the HDD. Enable that (but you have to enable AHCI first). See the next paragraph.

AHCI is disabled. Before enabling AHCI in the BIOS, you must go to this registry key:
hklm\system\CurrentControlSet\services\MSAHCI
and change the value "start" to be 0 (zero).
Windows should boot, find the AHCI driver, and request a reboot. If booting fails, change the BIOS setting from AHCI back to what it was.

PXE is enabled. Disable that.

The system comes with a 3.5" floppy drive. Really? Yep.

There is room enough under the floppy drive to nicely fit an SSD, however, the power supply (the box holding the power supply) prevents this. It won't fit. You have to remove the floppy drive to put an SSD in the machine (which leaves a gaping hole where the floppy bezel was).

There is a slot plate missing on the back of the computer, so there's a gaping hole there, too.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this for my wife's father. He's been using a P4 2.8 for the last 10 years.

In the end, I removed the floppy drive and put the SSD in its place. I put a piece of packaging tape over the hole. I ended up buying a regular-old SATA cable with a 90-degree end to ensure there was clearance for the cable under the HDD.

Overall, I'm okay with the purchase, but would have liked Joy Systems to have paid more attention to the important details of the BIOS and settings in the BIOS.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Pleased!

Pros: Great Price and great customer service!
I have purchased several of these from Joy systems, through Newegg. All have been in good condition and work great with one exception (see other thoughts)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Getting a bad part is and unavoidable hazard of buying anything these days but how a company handles this is very important.

Out of the 4 of these systems i have purchased, one had a bad DVD drive. I contacted Joy's customer service via email and received a replay back and a phone call that same day. They shipped a replacement drive out right away and i could not be happier. I have spend weeks resolving similar issues with big name brand companies so i was very please with how this worked out. I will definitely buy from them again.
