3 out of 5 eggsRefurbished to Death

Pros: Good specs and price for same.

Cons: Came with a refurbished hard drive (really???) which began failing a week after the 90 day parts and labor warranty expired.

1 out of 5 eggsYet another unJOYfull unit.

Pros: Any pros are drowned out by Joy computers constant and long term issue of not installing the proper video card driver on the machines they ship. And even worse on this one!!! The PCI DVI out video card pictured in the picture is not present!! Criminal!

Cons: No video card as pictured which leaves you with VGA out only. Long term ongoing issue with Joy computers not installing proper video card drivers. Shipping a machine with a Microsoft driver is unprofessional. But worse..it results in random shut downs of the unit most noticeable when using google chrome. I have verified many times over many orders and notified all and no change.

Other Thoughts: Blatant lie on DVI video card. Ships with Microsoft video card driver which causes random shut downs. Verified over and over again with several orders. Microsoft updates does provide the proper driver via optional updates but you would need to know that to choose it. And most of us do not allow optional updates from microsoft (they crash machines!!!)....only critical.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Hard drive dead in a couple of hours. No return accepted.

Cons: Dead hard drive. Comes with a refurbished COA and no disk. So now I need to track down a refurbished Windows 7 Pro disk that one seems to have. What a waste of money. Beware!

Other Thoughts: Thanks for the brick!

3 out of 5 eggsVery old system

Pros: Windows 7 64-bit pro, Service Pack 1 with install disk
8gb memory (but, see con below)
Runs very quiet and cool
1.5TB hard drive
Will work for business related tasks

Cons: I should have downloaded the users manual from Dell before buying. This is an old machine with Socket 775 LGA and Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 2.93 GHz.
Memory is 4 x 2GB PC3-10700 (667 MHz, but actuall runs at 533 MHz)
Bus speed 266 MHz, so FSB:DRAM is 2:1
No wireless
Only USB 2.0 ports (no 3.0)
Power Supply only 220W
PCI Express 2.0
Required 127 windows updates (300 mb) - don't update the platform update since it indicates shut downs like the previous review. I did not do this update

Other Thoughts: I upgraded the primary hard drive to a SSD and use the 1.5TB as the secondary HD. It runs fast, mostly because of the large memory and SSD. This is not a gaming machine, but I purchased for business purposes only.
Win7 Performance ratings:
Processor: 6.5
Memory: 6.5
Graphics: 4.4
Gaming Graphics: 3.5 -> 4.5 after updated optional hardware in MSFT updates
Primary Hard Drive: 5.9 -> 7.4 after updating to SSD (note, similar model SSD has 7.9 rating on newer system)

4 out of 5 eggsOptiplex 780 Full Tower

Pros: - 8GBs of RAM
- 1.5TB HDD
- Windows 7 Professional
__________________________
With its $300 it's a great starting point for upgrades. This rig along with +$100. This is a great start if someone is looking to buy a tower and upgrading it over time.

Cons: The computer has arbitrarily shut-off at times. Whether it is my OptiPlex in particular/if not a stock PSU problem we are going to replace it and see if it solves a problem.

Other Thoughts: Personally I think upgrading a stock computer is a better choice then completely building one on your own. You learn just as much (if done right) and save yourself ALOT of time making it more efficient.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal

Pros: Purchased 5 of these for work. No complaints. Win7 Pro really saved me some time setting them up.

Cons: Bloat is bloat and will always be a thing. Not too bad here though

Other Thoughts: Quick shipping too
