4 out of 5 eggsAn Adventure - LOL

Pros: Great value for what you get - 70 clams after rebate (plus 10 bucks for a CPU cooling fan - see "other thoughts" below)

Cons: I had to do some repairs. I didn't bother contacting the seller, so you can't really blame them although they did send me a really great machine. LOL

Other Thoughts: Bought this for me mum as her old PC was very outdated.

When I first turned on this PC, the power supply fan was squealing very loudly. It kept on squealing so I removed the power supply from the machine, dismantled it and replaced the bad fan with a used one from an old power supply.

I then cranked up the PC and was delighted that the power supply fan was now working quietly. Things were going great until the CPU got some load on it and kicked the RPM's up on the variable speed CPU cooling fan. The chassis of the machine was actually vibrating and pulsating. When I looked at the CPU cooling fan, I saw the reason: 2 of the blades were missing from the fan. I ordered a new fan off of e~Bay for $10 and it worked fine after I installed it.

Then I went to use the optical drive and found that it was completely dead. I took a donor out of a scrapped PC I had and I was in business.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price.

Pros: I bought this computer when it was on sale for 100 dollars, it was a gift for my step mom who's computer was dying. This computer meets all of her needs, and more. She is very happy with it.

Cons: The fan in it is very loud, but my parents have gotten used to it. I believe it's the processor fan, But for those who know how to do the work, that is not a problem at all.

Other Thoughts: I'm really happy I made this purchase, I wouldn't have paid full price for it, but that is why I watch for sales.

2 out of 5 eggsworth buying with rebate(under $150)0

Pros: Came with Win7 installed,so the updates will last for the likely life of machine.

Cons: Runs HOT! Fans are LOUD and I had to change placement of machine to lesson the chance of fan failure(laying flat instead of on side)the spped control for the fans doesn't seem to play well with Win7,sytem acts sluggish @ times, and malwarebytes found numerous items that took me hours to get cleaned.

Other Thoughts: My cost on this machine was under $100 with the rebate, and that's why I went with it.It's fine for basic net use and net games. Also able for youtube. Don't expect to be able to compete with newer machines, this was designed for XP and it shows.

2 out of 5 eggsit works but not great

Pros: It works including the Win 7. Everything looks fine. I purchase it at $75 after rebate. You can't expect more at this price.

Cons: It should be called pre-owned rather than refurbished. I had expected it would look new at least from appearance. I am totally wrong. From every aspect, I can tell it has been used for quite a while (scratches, dirty, etc.). So my guess is that the refurbisher just purchased it from a big organization and reset everything and throw in a Win 7 copy.

Other Thoughts: It is OK as it is for my backup pc to download something. I have a gaming PC with i7 4700MQ cpu. But if you just need an affordable pc for infrequent use and its price indeed reflect that fact, it is OK for me.

4 out of 5 eggsGood value

Pros: very pleased for the price

Cons: As with other buyer, DVD didn't work, but going into the Setup, found that it was found to be 'OFF', switched to "ON' and was good to go.

Other Thoughts: Hard drive is small by today's standards, but this is a 7-8 yr. old computer. Will upgrade drive and memory and this will be a great back up computer.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: NONE

Cons: Ordered this and the DVD door opened but would not close. Sent it back for a replacement and the replacement was also defective. This time the DVD door would not even open. Returned it again, this time asking for a refund. I was given the runaround, first told that the item did not match the serial number on the box then told that the item worked fine when they tested it. I asked for a refund and was told I could not get one. Again with the runaround, first they told me that since it was in working order they could not refund it. Then they told me that the terms of the purchase did not warrant a refund. The best they could do was offer store credit MINUS the restocking fee. EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED.

3 out of 5 eggsGood PC, bad accessories and OS

Pros: The PC itself was in good shape - clean and well packed and as described.

Cons: The preinstalled version of Windows showed a "not genuine" warning. The included keyboard had a crack in the plastic although it worked. Both the keyboard and mouse although new, are no-name, not-so-great quality (for instance, there are no non-slip feet under the keyboard).

Other Thoughts: Not a problem for me that the OS was bad since I planned to reinstall a different version anyway. Similarly, I already had several spare keyboards and mice. But a different customer might see things differently!
