5 out of 5 eggsGreat 8.1 WMC box

Pros: Small, quiet, faster than expected

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: Purchased this to replace my gaming rig as a standalone Windows media center 8.1 prp device and we are not disappointed. We are using this with a 3 tuner Hd Homerun Prim with a Verizon Fios flawlessly. Installed a 120 GB patriot Pyro SSD, 4gb Mushkin 1333 ram (2x2 GB), and replaced the onboard PCIE WiFi (Centrino 125) with a 6350 (voids warranty though so be warned).

1 out of 5 eggsAVOID AT ALL COSTS

Pros: Small, affordable, HDMI, WiFi, Wall Mount included

Cons: My company bought 3 of these in October. Thus far, 2 of the three units have failed, completely. Just died, less than a month apart. Further, the Zotac RMA process is SO difficult, that I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER buy another Zotac product. This device and frankly in my opinion, Zotac products in general, should be avoided. Their customer service support people are disorganized and can't seem to communicate with each other so you end up having to provide the same information over and over. And their return process takes forever, it's been a MONTH since I started the RMA process on the first unit and I still haven't received the replacement.

Other Thoughts: These products are really cool, but not worth the headache. If you're luck enough to get a good, reliable unit, then all power to you. Just pray you never have to deal with their return/warranty system.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: The packaging was surprisingly nice. It feels like you are unboxing a much pricier piece of gear. Its incredibly small. It is nearly silent and runs cool. It is incredibly fast. Its Linux friendly - at least Linux Mint 15 went on smooth. Also running Windows 7 (for Netflix).

Cons: The remote was garbage. The case feels a little flimsier than I expected, but I don't expect it to be a problem. There is no analog audio out on the back. I'm using optical, so its not a big deal to me, but if you plan on using analog you might want to take this into consideration.

Other Thoughts: Keep in mind that thing only has room for a single 2.5" drive and takes laptop memory. I chose an ADATA 64GB SSD and a pair of Mushkin 4GB 204pin sticks. It boots in under 7 seconds to Cinnamon desktop. I also got an external Samsung DVD drive.

I replaced an existing HTPC that I have had for a few years. Using the ZBOX was a major win in upgrading it. This time around the hardware took about 30 seconds to put together, cost 1/2 as much, is 1/10th the size, much quieter, cooler, cheaper to run, and mind blowingly fast.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat little performer

Pros: This unit is a real player in the Mini PC segment, as it punches well above it's weight. It's able to push a 1080p signal to a 50" HD TV all day long without breaking a sweat, and do regular everyday computing "stuff" as well. The AMD Radeon 7350 is the secret sauce that gives it that zip, but It's no gamer that's for sure ( leave that for the big boy's ).

Cons: Only one issue to make note of and that is the fancy remote that it came bundled with, pretty much a waist of good plastic.I would tell you to leave it in the box, but I know you'll check it out anyway .

Other Thoughts: Know one will be disappointed with their purchase, handles dual boot very well with Win7 and Ubuntu 3.04 in tow.
