2 out of 5 eggsFailed Twice in 3 Months

Pros: Small, quiet, fast.

Cons: USB 3.0 drivers are finicky. Build quality could be better.

Other Thoughts: This unit failed after 1 month of use (would not boot). I sent it back and was without a computer for a month. The second computer was brand new and failed in exactly the same way as the first, also after 1 month of use. So this failed me twice in 3 months. I spent $50+ in return shipping, which Zotac would not refund. They also categorically said they will NEVER refund me---for the computer or any shipping---even if the computer fails repeatedly, meaning I could end up paying hundreds in return shipping.

The computer is good, but I can't recommend it due to Zotac's return policy. If you have issues, you are going to lose a lot of money and be severely inconvenienced.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Louis,

We apologize for the issues you're experiencing with the unit. Our Customer Service team should be in contact with you and a replacement unit is on its way. Your unit will be analyzed for further details.

5 out of 5 eggsFast, quiet, small

Pros: I'm very happy overall with this computer. I'm using it in my living room, for gaming and video, hooked to a projector.

- Very good gaming and video performance. Runs Witcher 2 on high settings, as well as every other game I've tried. (That's the most taxing game I currently have because I'm DRM free.)
- Very quiet. At low load, including music playback and video playback, it's essentially completely silent. When gaming, it's a very quiet hum. (Reviews say 38 dB)
- Supports optical audio output for home theater. From the desktop, it's stereo S/PDIF. From applications such as Plex, it will also do passthrough of surround sound.
- Dual SSD connections, or one SSD and one hard drive. I'm currently using an Intel 335 SSD in the 2.5" slot, and planning to add a second SSD in the mSATA slot to store games.

Cons: - Not upgradable. But I knew that when I bought it. It should be good enough performance for a living room PC for a few years.
- Processor performance isn't ideal for workstation use, such as video encoding. For that use case, a quad i7 would be a better choice. For an HTPC or gaming use case it's great though. Most games are single or dual threaded anyway.

Other Thoughts: The computer in my office is a "silent" gaming PC that I spent a lot of time and expense to build. This has almost the same gaming performance, is tiny, and is quieter. It also cost less than my last upgrade.

Also, I didn't have the bios issues, driver issues, or power cord issues others have reported. The bios was up to date, the drivers worked, and the power cord was a U.S. 3 prong.

(I bought the open box version of this, but reviewed it here since it's more likely to be an active SKU.)

5 out of 5 eggsbuy it now!

Pros: - Great for gaming and HTPC
- Quite, even quieter than my laptop's idle noise when it's on full load, simply unbelievable. silent would be the better term. the Bluetooth speakers I'm using make more static RF idle noise than the ZBOX system.
- It's small and light
- Low power consumption
- Low heat
- Low cost( valve delayed the release of steam OS and they couldn't market them as Steam boxes this year, and so they are under selling them atm)
- Has excellent wireless capabilities: two dedicated antennae for Bluetooth and wireless internet.
- Ability to use both mSata and regular 2.5 sata III drives
- Really cool evenly lit orange ring "logo/insignia" doesn't look cheesy and isnt too bright, ability to turn it off
- I/O ports are fairly robust, including SPID audio, all in one card reader, IR receiver for Windows Media Center control, and a second Gigabit Ethernet for managing a network(wow)
- there is a small 1x.5 inch panel that can be removed in case you'd like to run custom cabling in/out of the case
- has a stand/mount that it can snap into place on, so the case it self its not scrwed down, you push a big button on the stand and your able to easily remove it GENIUS

Cons: - as expected with most bookshelf PC's, there is limited modification available, cant upgrade CPU or GPU for instance.
- glossy top surface is prone to get scratched and smudged(no really a big deal)

Other Thoughts: the people who gave this one egg are dingbats... I don't normally bother to write a review unless i really think its worth mentioning, and this thing has exceeded my expectations in all areas. I've owned 3 Shuttle SFF computers, and have always been a fan of them for being able to produce desktop performance in a low profile system that I could traverse to LAN parties with. Zotac has definitely served those purposes with the ZBOX EN-760. you can tell that a lot of thought went into the design of this product, its stylish, easily accessible, took a total of 3 thumbscrews to install everything. the cooling on this system is superb.
I put a 240GB sata III SSHD in there and 16 GBs(2x8GB) of top of the line G-skill dual channel ram, this thing will load up Windows in less than 10 seconds, the windows loading animation with the 4 glowing dots that assemble into the windows logo doesn't even finish. Dont underestimate the 1.6ghz #s on that i5, its turbo boosted @ 2.8GHz which is basically the speed of the top of the line i5. great system, don't hesitate to buy it.

5 out of 5 eggsMiniPC done right

Pros: Very small size/Smaller than my mousepad.
VESA mount
Light weight.
Wifi AC
Bluetooth 4.0

I was going to build a PC with the Mini-ITX form factor, but this ended up being cheaper, and easier to set up. Smaller than mini-ITX as well. Of course, going this route you lose the upgrade build path (like new GFX cards and CPUs) but you don't lose the reuse path. Eventually I plan on building a more dedicated PC tower, and can use this to pick up a video stream to stream games to my TV.

Cons: Four USB ports
Can't install OS from SD Card

Other Thoughts: If they could have fit a blu-ray player in here. that would have been awesome, but physical media is dead anyways so whatever.

4 out of 5 eggsThe little box that would

Pros: CHEAP, compact, fast GPU, easy to upgrade memory and storage, unbelievably quiet, plenty of ports.

Cons: CPU could be faster, Wireless AC pumps no more than 390mbps, Plus model includes only 5400rpm HD, no option to have a factory installed OS.

Other Thoughts: This is a surprisingly efficient and well designed little gaming PC. Kudos to Zbox for the fantastic execution on the EN760. I added a Samsung mSata SSD and finished a fresh Windows install in about 30 minutes. Updated bios and was playing games within an hour. Runs cool and most importantly for me, runs silent. Decent framerate on modern games. Could use a faster CPU, but the i5 will handle just fine for now. Really impressed with this thing, beats any console and future steam machines. Don't hesitate, go for it.

1 out of 5 eggsAdded Review

Pros: Not much.

Cons: I would like to add to my previous review. Another reviewer stated this thing was blazing fast. With a fresh install of Windows 7, using 8GB of ram, this thing for me, was a SLUG. It booted really, really fast from power on to the desktop, but thats pretty much where it ended. Drivers, took me about 1.5 hours to install.

1 out of 5 eggsWrong power cable included for U.S. consumers

Pros: Nice looking

Cons: SATA drive mounting is flimsy

Other Thoughts: Just received my EN760 today. Installed 16gb of Crucial SODIMM RAM and an Intel 530 2.5" SATA SSD. The EN760 comes with a clip on bracket for the SSD. After attaching drive to bracket, you insert the bracket/hd and thumbscrew down to the chassis. While screwing the bracket down, the receiving post that attaches to the mother board came loose and started spinning freely. Drat! Don't want to completely unscrew motherboard / violate warranty just to fix this minor annoyance. Read another review where the purchaser had similar problem. Be careful here. Got everything put back together and was ready to connect power only to discover the two adapter cables for the external power brick are not for U.S. power outlets (guessing they might be European and Asian). Double drats! My review is incomplete until I get the annoying power cable issue resolved. Also read another review where purchaser had similar issue. Come on Zotac you can do better than this!

4 out of 5 eggsNear Perfect Device

Pros: 1; High Performance
2; Low Temperatures
3; Low Noise
4; Low Price

I got this computer because I wanted something cheap but powerful and a very portable form factor as I need to travel between work, school, and my home very often. I didn't want a laptop because they tend to be overpriced considering the specifications and tend to have a low quality monitor, keyboard and touchpad. So I decided to get this as a transitional computer from a laptop to a desktop.

I must say and I nothing but pleased with this computer. Performance is top notch, while I was worried whether the cpu would bottleneck the cpu, I have had no such problems. I get a consistent 60 fps (with vsync on) at 1080p on high settings on all games so far, and ~45-50 fps on the highest settings. There are no performance issues that I can speak of. Although I would not recommend this computer on the basis for video processing or anything cpu intensive, for those looking for a well performing machine that can run all the latest games (as of the time this review is written), I can not more heavily recommend this computer.

Temperature is a non issue. The highest temperature that I am getting on load is the lowest temperature on my laptop on idle (albeit it was a terrible laptop). When opening the device, you can see an absolutely huge heatsink (relative to laptops) which will not let you down. On Idle I am getting 35-40 degrees celsius and on full load (ex; benchmarking with furmark) I will get maximum 75-80 degrees but while gaming the temperatures generally stay around 60-75 (gpu and cpu respectively). One note is that depending on whether you choose to use the included stand or to mount it on the back of the monitor, mounting it will cause temperatures to rise about 5 degrees due to the decreased airflow. I haven't encountered any throttling while doing this but that is something I wanted to note. Bravo to the engineers who designed this.

This machine is quieter than whisper quiet. This thing is ridiculous. Although I do not have a meter to measure the decibel output I literally can not hear this machine. And no, I am not using literally in a figurative manner (yes, literally can mean figuratively now). When idle the machine does not make a sound. I can not hear it at all. Even when putting my ear next to the fan, I can not hear it. No the fan does not stop at idle, I can both see it moving, feel the air being pushed, and monitor the rpm in hwmonitor. This thing isn't even ridiculously quiet. It makes no sound. Although, I can't say that if you happen to live in a sound proof box, all my time I have used it, I have never heard the fan when sitting in my chair. And yes, that includes while benchmarking or gaming. The only downside to sound is that while benchmarking, I can in fact hear the fan, when I put my ear next to the fan (that was a joke, it's not a downside). So even while gaming, this machine is below whisper quiet. Sound is not an issue.

Cons: 1; Can't seem to get the included stand to work
2; Shiny (fingerprints)
3; (Which I'd prefer you disregard until I get more definitive results) Using a hard drive internally with an msata card seems to have problems which essentially prevent the hard drive to be used.

There are two options of storage in the form of a msata ssd slot and room for a 2.5 inch hard drive or ssd. Both can be populated at the same time. I am currently utilizing a msata ssd as a boot drive and a 1 tb hard drive for media. One unfortunate thing is that when I did populate both internally, I had issues with my hard drive which tended to stutter and stop reading and writing inside the device. I did end up using an external enclosure with usb 3.0 connection which works well enough. I do not know whether it is a problem with my hard drive or if it's a problem with the computer as this hard drive has had problems. I will do further testing and update the review as necessary. I have not used a hard drive as a boot drive so I can not comment on that. I did have difficulty when trying to install my msata ssd because the standoff was not properly secured to the pcb, requiring me to secure the standoff with a pair of pliers in order to remove the preinstalled screw.

The nitpicks I have to say is that I can not seem to get the included stand to actually fit on the device. It's not impossible as I've done it once but it is more difficult than it needs to be and I ended up mounting it on the back of my monitor. There are no drawbacks to that (other than a slight rise in temperatures as mentioned earlier) but I would have preferred to use the included stand. The front of the device, when turned on, has a glowing orange circle that looks rather nice. Also, the entire face and back of the device has a glossy and reflective plastic coating. I'd prefer a matte finish because fingerprints but as I probably won't touch the device too often, it isn't a very big deal.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this product from newegg for 499.99 USD and was delivered to me on July 18, 2014. I will update this review if necessary.

NOTE: After purchasing this computer, you must update the BIOS available from the zotac website. There is incompatibility between the cpu i5-4200U and the GTX 860m which causes the video card to stop working with the newer video driver and preventing its use.

There is plenty of connectivity in 4 usb 3.0 ports, a dvi and hdmi video output, two ethernet ports, one spdif audio output, an sd card reader, ir sensor and 3.5 mm audio in and out. I do wish they included a displayport rather than hdmi but that is a small nitpick. It is interesting that they included two ethernet ports but I suppose one of them could be used in a NAS setup. I have not fully populated all the usb ports but I do have a usb 2.0 hub which I am using for my keyboard and mouse.

The final thing I have to say is the pricing, wow is this inexpensive. The device itself costs 500 dollars, if you already have a hard drive, monitor, keyboard and mouse, and a pair of headphones, which I'm pretty sure a lot of people do have, this is a steal. Even if you need to purchase said items, (50-80, 100, 20, 5-10 [educated guess of cheap prices] = 210 + 500), it is still less than purchasing a laptop of equivalent prowess (And equivalent laptop going for ~1200 or 1000 at the cheapest if you can find it). This thing is a bargain and if you need a computer

Overall, a very well made and well performing device. I can heartily recommend this even as there are almost nothing wrong with the device. I knocked one star off because I really just dislike the glossy coating but if not for that I would have given this a 5 star rating and I think others would probably do too. I'm really happy with this purchase.

This is copy pasted from a review on another website.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product

Pros: The computer is solidly build and it is very easy to add a hard drive (or msata ssd in my case) and ram. The performance is solid and while I did have worries whether the i5-4200u would under-perform, everything runs very smoothly.

Temperature is no issue, as it runs 35-40 degrees celsius at idle and 70-75 on load; depending on what you're running and whether you're using the device mounted to a vesa mount or upright on its stand. It runs amazingly cool, especially compared to a laptop.

I'm getting consistent 60 fps at 1080p on high settings for most games, and 45-50 on ultra/highest.

Another great thing is how absolutely quiet the machine is. And this is really ridiculously quiet. On idle, I could literally not hear the fan at all. I could feel air being pushed and I could see the fan turning but not a single sound. Even on load, there is barely any sound at all. In order to hear it at load, you have to put your ear next to the ventilation to hear the fan. This is just ridiculously quiet and kudos to the engineers that developed the cooling solution. Just bravo.

A relatively cheap product, especially if you have the components already, which are laptop ram, a hard drive, keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Having all of the above, other than an msata ssd, this was a better deal than buying a laptop of equivalent specifications.

Cons: THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.

You have to update the bios with the bios updater available on the zotac website. If you don't do this, there is an issue of incompatibility between the i5-4200u and the 860m. But once that is complete, there are no issues at all.

I am having issues when adding a harddrive into the computer (msata boot drive and 1 tb harddrive for media and games). When installed within the device, the hard drive will stutter and stop writing or reading. I have no clue what is causing this but I am able to use the hard drive in an external enclosure and it will work fine though. I am not sure whether it is an issue with my harddrive in particular or if there is an issue with the device itself. I will update the review when I have better information.

Lastly, I can't seem to get the device to sit correctly onto the upright stand. While the vesa mount is nice and does hide the device for a minimalistic desk, temperatures do increase by 5 degrees to 70-75 degrees celsius. This temperature is perfectly fine but I prefer keeping the device cool. When on the upright stand (the one time i got it to work) temperatures were consistently below 70 degrees. That is just a nitpick but it's something that i wish were easier.

Other Thoughts: Just an amazing device and I can highly recommend it to those who are looking for a cheaper alternative to a fully featured laptop and those who are transitioning into a desktop but require both power and portability without the overpriced nature of laptops. Even if I did purchase everything required to operate the device, (100 for a monitor, 20 for keyboard and mouse, 50-80 for harddrive, 80 for ram) it would still be significantly cheaper than purchasing a laptop of equivalent specifications. This product is just extremely well designed and I hope to see more like this in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing little gaming box!

Pros: Cheap for the specs
Low power
Low heat
Low noise
Just add RAM and HDD and you're good to go

Cons: Didn't include an american power cable
No rear sound jack
CPU could be a little better

Other Thoughts: I got this as soon as I saw it for sale. Amazing little box, it has completely replaced my Asus G750JM that I've been using as a 'portable gaming desktop'

A few problems:
The one I received came with two European power cables, no american one. I had one left over from a laptop so that wasnt a huge issue. Also, the mSATA screw post was loose on mine. Being impatient, I peeled off the warranty void sticker to pull the mainboard out and resecure it so I could install an mSATA card. Probably should have been patient and filed a claim, but I was too giddy to check out this awesome piece of hardware to wait.

I did file a ticket with NewEgg about the wrong power cable, and they contacted the vendor who is apparently now going to send me a replacement power cable, so that's awesome customer service there.

I've got mine setup with 8GB of RAM from Crucial, a 180GB Intel mSATA boot drive, and a Samsung 1TB EVO SSD.
The only game I have any real issues with is Space Engineers, which has a few frame rate issues due to the weaker CPU. I was able to resolve a bunch of this, though, by updating drivers and BIOS. There is a noticeable bump in performance with the latest BIOS and latest drivers from nVidia(these will not install until you've updated the BIOS, however).

Overall, I would STRONGLY suggest this as an excellent low power gaming desktop. It plays all of my games on medium or high settings at 1080p. My only wish, is that my Asus monitor had the rear mounting holes so I could bolt it to the back of my monitor.
