Pros: Great SECONDARY computer! I have it set up in my kitchen and love the touch screen. Sure makes cooking a lot easier to have both music playing and recipes on the screen. Not too big and uses an Atom processor...which saves energy over a standard desktop. Wall "hanger" built-in.
Cons: This is XP and that is a double-edged sword. The Atom processor does not struggle with XP, but Windows 7 has much more touch-screen capability.
Other Thoughts: As an Atom-based computer, this is a great secondary computer but doesn't have the pep to be the primary computer. However, with XP and a touch-screen, it would be ideally suited for older users.

Rating: 4/5The best touchscreen jukebox
Pros: I have 6 computers in the house, and always wanted a touchscreen. Finally I came up with a reason to get one, to hang a touchscreen computer on the wall (need a vesa adapter that cost $25 and vesa wall mount that was about $10) and hook the sound out to speakers in the ceiling. It's effectively a touchscreen jukebox that's worked out rather well. With Windows XP, I have iTunes loaded and just run through my playlists while I'm in the room with a quick touch to the screen and have cover flow albeit not as smooth as an iPod.
Cons: Windows XP is not the best operating system for touchscreens. I configured auto-login because it was almost impossible to type in my password every time I started up the machine with the touchscreen. Also had to put on a VNC server so I can do easier computer maintenance with a keyboard from another computer when Windows needs updates. Windows XP Home does not have remote desktop.
Other Thoughts: I still love this computer even with the OS it comes with. When it comes down to it, I could upgrade to a better OS, but the hardware itself with a touchscreen and a computer is amazingly priced. Touchscreens start at $300 for the same size anyway. I bought this around $425 with a deal and rebate from newegg.

Rating: 1/5ASUS ETP1602C-BK-X0163
Pros: This system is the ideal size for many kiosk and retail applications
Cons: This has been configured with XP home which is NOT a touch screen aware OS. The log-on screen will ONLY work with a keyboard and will not function as a touch screen system. If you are planning to use this system as 100% touch you are out of luck.
Other Thoughts: ASUS tech support is easy to reach but cannot provide solutions to know problems with their systems. I own 2 ASUS systems and I am done buying product from this company.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear Valued Customer,
We apologize for the issue you are experiencing regarding the neccessity of a keyboard at the log-on screen to enter the user password. This is an OS limitation of Windows XP, however we have a workaround that will show the Windows On-Screen Keyboard at the log-on / Welcome screen. Please contact us OC_Support@asus.com and reference case number NE0500 so that we may determine if this will fix the issue you're experiencing.
Best Regards,
ASUS Support Team
