5 out of 5 eggsActivation Problem But Great Machine

Pros: ZERO bloatware! Lots of RAM and snappy computer.

Cheap, great deal.

Cons: I got two and both needed the Windows 7 key re-entered. Activation was successful.

Other Thoughts: I assume the two I got received new motherboards because of the activation problem i had.

Dont forget to make restoration disks.

Pros: Good price for what you get when it works

Cons: This was not referbished very well. Mine came with the wrong power cord. I have many extra so it did not matter to me. Then within two months the haard drive died. I am not happy

5 out of 5 eggsBest buy ever

Pros: This PC is great! It hase 4 ram slots, comes with 3 2gig chips in it. DDR to boot. What more could you ask for. At some point I may think about upgrading the Processor, but this 64 duel core works just fine. I added a power supply and 9600 gt graphics card, and the performance is awsome. I also had to add and extra fan to help keep the heat down. I will be overclocking this baby as soon as i hit 1000 hours, which is probably pretty close.

Cons: A few sata cables werent hooked up when it arrived, but I was changing components anyway. also the packaging could be better, but the tower looks great. The mother board could use better mounting. when I was adding components the board was tweaking a bit, but no damage done.

Other Thoughts: I was about to buy new parts to upgrade my old pc, and saw this deal. You can't beat this packeage. the HD and the chipset alone is a value of over 400 dollars. recertified is the way to go.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: 1TB hd, 6g ddr3, Asus. Was in perfect condition with all accesories (yes we bought refurbished). The keyboard and mouse were brand new (and still are because they both stayed in their plastic and went into the closet).

Cons: Older CPU Socket type restricts upgrades.

Other Thoughts: We had a total computer melt down that coincided with SC2 release so we we looking for a new computer that was decent but didn't cost a ton of money and this has fit the bill perfectly. We put a Radeon 5770 video card in and it's done super well. We had to get a new power supply because the card he chose needed two connectors but you can get the same card that only needs one. This system isn't meant to be a gaming rig or anything but it had performed well as one with the simple addition of a budget friendly video card.

5 eggs because it may not be amazing, but it actually exceeded our expectations from it. You'll be hard pressed to find another computer with this big of a hard drive and 6g ddr3 (if you don't already know on this, ddr3 in general is going to kick the b*tt [yes, it really blocks that word] of all ddr2 memory) for this price.

4 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Inexpensive, fast, copious storage, HDMI output, media readers.

Cons: Video card to LCD TV

Other Thoughts: Was a breeze to setup. First experience with Windows 7 and so far it's been a good one. Only issue so far was the integrated video card to LCD connection. Spotty at first, but after I updated the driver it became solid. The display on the TV is a little disappointing (on a smaller monitor it's rock solid) in that the refresh rates available make dialog box borders flicker slightly and the format doesn't quite fit. It's either too large or too small; it won't fill the edges of the TV without the outer edges of the desktop bleeding off and disappearing, but I don't know if it's the TV or card. I think it's something I can live with, since full screen video seems to be just fine. Haven't tested the media readers or the DVD drive yet. Plan to install a Wireless N card (and router), a TV tuner and a Blu-Ray player in the near (maybe) future.

4 out of 5 eggsHMMMMMMM!!!

Pros: Very nice looking and running!! Not having to delete unwanted software is most exciting.

Cons: Had to do a full reinstall of OS and drivers. The keyboard was missing. Not like i dont have a hundred laying around but would like to get what i pay for! Lets see if they send it to me!

Other Thoughts: I would buy another one for the price and normal quality i get from Asus. Let see how long it lasts. Think they should make it a year warranty instead of 90 days!

2 out of 5 eggsBad Refurb

Pros: Great price.

Cons: Even for a refurbished system, the computer arrived very dirty. The mouse in particular was covered in grime. The hard drive was not plugged in and I had to open the case to connect it.

After setting up Windows, I discovered that a copy of the previous owner's hard drive, in its entirety, was stored on a separate partition of the hard drive! I can't believe that the individuals in charge of refurbishing the system would be so careless as to leave the other guy's data on the disk. Needless to say, I deleted the files immediately.

Other Thoughts: If I had known that the computer would arrive in this condition, I would have spent an extra $100 or $200 and bought a new system. Very disappointing.
