5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Everything works, very quiet (the HD is the only thing you can really hear, and while not "loud" by any means it's just a basic drive), comes with a VESA bracket that works well enough (the single-bolt connection between the eeebox and the bracket is kinda unnecessarily dainty, but whatever), installed Linux Mint easily using a USB stick set up with unetbootin without problems other than having to do a few small non-technical things before HDMI audio would work. Using it as a basic workstation/desktop and media player, works great in Mint and stuff is reasonably fast.

Cons: The included mouse is super tiny, which I realize isn't necessarily a problem if you've got small hands, and the keyboard, while usable, is squeaky and cheap and feels like it would't be a keeper even if it was capable of holding up to regular use, which it probably isn't. Personally I'd prefer it if eeeboxes didn't come with either of them and were however much cheaper instead (might be more savings than one would expect, since the keyboard makes the shipping box a lot bigger than it would otherwise have to be). The LEDs are too bright/obnoxious, but that's easy to fix with tape. How ASUS can do so many things right but still junk up their stock Windows installs so badly is pretty annoying, especially on a low-power machine, but it's easy enough to fix.

Other Thoughts: The quality of the apparent refurb job overall is good, no nasty surprises or cut corners.
