2 out of 5 eggsMystery Issue

Pros: Runs great Sometimes

Cons: Other times doesn't run at all.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for gaming, i have an older ASUS PC that runs fun with an upgraded PSU and Vid card. When I got this one I started it up and made sure it wasn't DOA, afterwards I installed the higher wattage PSU and the new Vid card. It runs fantastic for a short while then does a complete freeze-lock in game and has to be manually powered down and restarted. i am not sure what the problem is without taking it in to have a technician to diagnose it. I suppose sending it in now is out of the question since I upgraded it. I have plenty of experience building my own and doing my upgrades. but this baffles me. I guess I should have listened to all the warnings here about this machine before I bought it. =(

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing freezing issues. Have you tried updating the drivers on desktop as well as the VGA card you installed.

Here is a link below to help support your desktop.
http://www.asus.com/Desktops/CM1831/#support_Download_30

You can also try downloading the bios for the motherboard.

If you remove the video card are you still expereincing freezing issues?

1 out of 5 eggsSeriously?

Pros: Can not think of any?

Cons: I bought this computer Thursday which was the 7th and received it on the 12th which is fine, if only the stupid computer would work... First time I turned it on I had to name my computer 3 different times because it kept blue screening and crashing. Then it finally works, for about 10 minutes before it crashes again. Called Tech Support which was absolutely no help whatsoever. AND NOW I have to spend even more of my money to ship the faulty piece of equipment back to them? Also to make matters worse its out of stock.. Just great.

Other Thoughts: Save your time.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear that the unit was not working right out of the box. If you purchase this unit form newegg, I suggest you return the unit for an exchange or refund and try checking other websites to see if they have the model available.

You can always send the unit in for service.

If you have any questions or comments you can email me again at cl-jeffrey@asus.com which I reside in the U.S

4 out of 5 eggsAsus Desktop

Pros: Fast. This is my first 8 core processor. Also, all of the extra software for the Asus components is easy to understand and navigate. Lots of USB ports, the last computer I had only carried 4 USB.

Cons: Power button is spaced evenly above the two bays with the same type of button. Have to be careful not to power off as I'm trying to load a disk. Power supply is a little small, but works as a stock.

Other Thoughts: Overall a good machine.

1 out of 5 eggsr u kidding me!

Pros: Cheap! Fast

Cons: Invalid product key for windows and hard drive failed on second boot.

Other Thoughts: Open box item. The only thing you can do is send it back.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear that you are having issues with your open box item. What you can try to do is restart the computer and keep pressing F9 to get into the hidden partition to do a factory reset.

Make sure before you do this you save all your important things as everything will be erased and back to stock.

If someone has fiddles with the unit and did a clean install and wiped the HD, then you will have to send the unit in for service for us to put the preinstalled O/S.

If you have any questions or comments you can email me again at cl-jeffrey@asus.com which I reside in the U.S

4 out of 5 eggsGreat starter desktop!

Pros: Awesome processor, outstanding storage, it's an Asus, great expansion.

Cons: Not top of the line.

Other Thoughts: It's a great starting computer for any gamer, and it has a PCIe slot for graphics card expansion. Awesome deal for the price! Like I said, a great starting gaming PC. If you want awesome graphics, get ready to fork out a couple 100 for a new video card, the inboard graphics are terrible. Great overall desktop though.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: Great processor.
Plenty of ram.

Cons: Replace PSU and add an independent video card ASAP.

Other Thoughts: All-in-all, I am very satisfied with this unit. FX-8120 out performs the Intel Core i5 3400 series and is about $50-$90 cheaper (for those AMD fans).

5 out of 5 eggsI think I know why u all have problems

Pros: This PC comes with 300w power supply this isn't much for a 8 core. Go buy a 550-650 watt power supply and be much happier.

Cons: Should come with a real power supply.

1 out of 5 eggsDON'T JUST DON'T

Pros: specs

Cons: poor quality, bad customer service, won't work right,

Other Thoughts: I actually bought this machine at my local store. But I'm here to help shedthe light! Right out of the box the DVI input doesn't work correctly. I called the cust service number for Asus. I had to call them 3 times, each person had a different answer for what the issue was. ALL 3 of them were rude!! And condescending!!! When I read these reviews I was happy to see that it wasn't just me. Returning this piece of junk tomorrow and I or anyone I know will never ever buy from ASUS again! Oh and no one was able to fix the issue. Sad.... Thanks for wasting my day Asus where do I send my hourly invoice. WE DONT HAVE TIME FOR THIS GARBAGE!!!!!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear that the unit was not working properly right out of the box.

Regarding about the DVI input, did you check if the card was seated correctly. May have came out during transit.

Have you tried updating to the latest drivers and bios. That usually fixes some unstable issues with the desktop.

You said you purchase this from your local store. What is the name of the store and when did you purchase the desktop.

What is the serial number?

Please email me with reference# C1042-2088. You can email me at cl-jeffrey@asus.com. ASUS strives to meet and exceeds our customer expectations within our warranty policy.
