4 out of 5 eggsAwewome! And worth every penny, but...

Pros: Price, Brand, Processor, RAM, Windows 7

Cons: Power Supply & Video Card

Other Thoughts: My old PC died an unexpected and horrible death. I surfed the New Egg site, found this PC, and it looked like a good deal. Was a little skeptical, based on some reviews about boot failure out of the box, but my unit fired right up - no problems.

Learned VERY quickly that the graphics card just wasn't going to cut it. (Other reviewers were right!) Upgraded the power supply to a Corsair CX600M and installed a GeForce GTX650 overclocked with 2GB GDDR5. Plenty of room in the case. Changing both was a piece of cake. Unit is cool and QUIET!!!

Now, this PC rocks! Skyrim and Borderlands 2 are at highest settings, and gameplay is seamless.

I couldn't be happier, now that the Power Supply and Graphics Card are updated. Even with the added expense, I ended up with an awesome PC for under $1K.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat upgrade for office user

Pros: got this as an upgrade for someone running CAD software and 3 monitor configuration

UEFI BIOS allows onboard DVI to be used along with the pre-installed GT520 which is sufficient for SolidWorks and Adobe Photoshop with its 12GB DDR3 RAM

the end user was quiet happy especially with the front USB 3.0 ports and handy tray on top of the case and massive 2TB hard drive

Cons: case is plastic seems pretty fragile, the hard drive is 5400 rpm which is more of a budget laptop hard disk speed but can't really complain for what you're getting at this price

Other Thoughts: for 800 bucks and a $50 gift card, you can't really complain about the value of what you're getting.

12GB DDR3 RAM and a i5 quad core processor and 1GB GT520 will keep this a relevant desktop for CAD and graphics function for quite some time

4 out of 5 eggsGood ASUS computer! Bad Newegg shipping package!

Pros: Asus CM6870-US-2AA performs well so far as ownership 1week.

Cons: Example 1, Power bottom is same as dvd-rom ejected bottom. When I try to put disc in the dvd-rom, I accidentally turn off computer many times because the location of the power bottom is same shape design as dvd-rom ejected bottom. The bottom with light on is the worst that lead you to push it.
Example 2, 16-in1 card reader is on the top of computer case and the opening face up. There is no cover for the card reader. The dust will fill in soon.
Asus desktop free window 8 upgrade program is confused! $15 rebate card from American express. That doesn’t mean to get window 8. As Asus website shows free window 8 upgrade. How? Direct it.

Other Thoughts: Big issue with Newegg:
Newegg 3-day shipping is fast, but poor packing and delivery via UPS. It arrived on schedule. It’s very good as usual, Newegg! But, I found it out there is a big hole about 10 inches long on the package and you can put your hand into the box and touch the computer ($750 value). I cannot image what kind of stuff has been smashed on my computer and how hard is that to make the big hole on the box. I am very worry the life of hard-drive because it is very fragile and sensitive shake. For the package, there is no additional packing box to protect the manufacture box (used to be Newegg box). I do not see packing list with this delivery. I don’t know what’s going on with Newegg recently. Fast means rush? No, that is not I know about Newegg since 2006. I will have another shipment from Newegg this week. I will see what’s going on my package.

1 out of 5 eggsnot impressed so far!

Pros: none

Cons: the computer never fully powered,no monitor or usb's.

Other Thoughts: looks like i'm out a main board,a CPU,or RAM

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear that you did not like your purchase. As it shows in the picture that there is no monitor. However this desktop has plenty of USB ports.

If you have any questions or comments you can email me at cl-jeffrey@asus.com which I reside in the U.S

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Experience

Pros: Everything was there; no need for any add-ons. Unit was ready out of the box and had a step by step set up. Basically it prompted me for everything. Unit is extremely fast. I have had Asus boards before and they continue to impress me

Cons: I had to think long and hard to come up with anything negative, therefore there is really nothing I can say if it took that long.

Other Thoughts: I used to shop with another well known on-line retailer, but now Newegg has overtaken, in my estimation. Flawless transaction. Newegg did what they said they would do. Very satisfied.

5 out of 5 eggsgood quality

Pros: -more storage space than I need for the forseeable future
-very fast processor with more than enough ram
-OS ran smoothly \ran smoothly out of the box
-smooth video streaming and playback for what I need
-quiet
-great price with XBox offer

Cons: ...

Other Thoughts: I bought this with the XBox promo and then turned around and sold the XBox. So in the end, I only paid 650 for this desktop and couldn't be more happy for the specs I got for this price. I use this desktop for mostly for work, and streaming online. I'm not a gamer, so it has more than enough hardware for what I need. Everything's has been running very quick and smoothly. This is a great deal! Very satisfied

5 out of 5 eggsASUS Quality Computer

Pros: I was looking for a computer in a business environment to run AutoCAD/Revit. I knew I would have to upgrade to Win7 Pro, upgrade the video card, and re-map the drives. After I got done with that the machine flies. Works the rendering in Revit well. I now have a happy operator with others wanting a similar machine.

My other option would have been to build a machine with ASUS parts. This way I got a package with a warranty.

Comes with Office pre-installed, you just need the Key Card.

The card reader on the top front is VERY good for my office. Makes it easy to work with.

Cons: None I didn't know about before I got the machine. Came in as advertised.

Other Thoughts: Would have been nice to be able to get Win7 Pro already on the machine, but not a real problem. The memory consists of three 4 gig sticks. Kind of wierd, but easier to add 4 more gig.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Asus Quality

Pros: I was looking to replace my old gaming rig that I've had for about five years now. AMD Phenom 9500/nVidia 9800GT. Pretty par for the course five years ago but slow as a dinosaur these days. This computer really hit the nail on the head in terms of processing power.

For hardcore gamers you'll want to replace the video card, as the GT 520 just can't handle 1080p 60fps gaming. I opted for the GT 560 Ti and everything is great.

Windows Experience Index after replacement is 7.9 for everything but the hard drives, but considering its a 5400RPM Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB, I won't complain.

Cons: nVidia GT 520 is a terrible card for gaming, but I knew that going into the purchase. Replaced with a 560 Ti and upgraded the power supply. Now everything is buttery smooth.

Other Thoughts: The power supply listed with the computer says 300w, but I cracked mine open to replace it and saw it was 350w. If you're replacing with another low power GPU like the ASUS GT 520 inside this one, you may not have to buy a heftier power supply.
