5 out of 5 eggsJust short on YouTube

Pros: Small enough to fit under the 40in TV. Real computer with a TV as monitor. Great to browse, play MKV/MOV/AVI tv series at 720p. Real keyboard and mouse (small range). Could install Peppermint as OS (++). changed the memory to 2x4GB (Yes! 8GB in that little monster).

Cons: A little bit short of playing YouTube. Problems receiving and decoding from 480p onward. Those videos saved as MOV play fine at 720p. Not a Bly-Ray disk and could not be changed later.

Other Thoughts: Keyboard was from a foreign language (US only and not specified, could have been Japanese of Korean for all I know). The same with a 2.2GHz CPU and a better video, I would buy again

5 out of 5 eggsAsus is the BEST choice for PCs

Pros: Setup was super easy, less than 50 mins for me to complete. The real pro for this Eee PC NetTop PC is a preloaded Win 7. Also, the nice thing is the built in CD/DVD option so you can quickly load any other software if needed without finding an external drive to plug in. Compared with the Zotac I previously bought (this is the replacement for the sudden death of Zotac), setup was so easy. Plus MS Win 7 license included!
The design and engineering behind is awesome, the stand which tilt the box in a 45 degree will give the machine enough airflow through different vent that avoid over heat issues generally happens with Intel Atom CPUs (Atom has no fan and as I know cannot turn on the GPU/graphic card fan). I think my Zotac was sadly fried but I am glad to have this new Asus.

Cons: Nice if it has dual boot for Android 4.x or the old Asus Express Gate (Linux OS)?

Other Thoughts: This is my 4th Asus (2 Laptops and 1 NetBook). So far I am extremely happy with this brand. Mr. Shih is one of the greatest OEM owner and hope he can continue his innovation over time!
I am glad to move from Sony to Asus (save Big $$$) and if you figure which Sony is OEM by Asus, you will agree! Glad to have a reliable brand and not have to choose Samsung for everything. If anyone complaints about Asus, they are worldwide and covers 24/7 (I called and confirmed). While Samsung wouldn't even exchange a battery for my Galaxy S2 under warranty (sorry that's another subject more likely in the class action section in the future).
Readers, Asus also OEM Google Nexus 7 and Apple iPad Mini and have decades of experience in motherboard. So they are not a fly-by-night eMachine type of shop.
Go give it a try and please put some "likes" if you agree or find my review helpful!

4 out of 5 eggsIt works, nothing special.

Pros: Works as advertised.

Cons: The wireless mouse and keyboard only have a range of one meter (a little over three feet for the mertically challenged), which was a bit of a disappointment given the intended use. I don't know many people that sit three feet away from their TV...

Other Thoughts: I picked this up on sale for about 40% off, and even then I don't think I quite got enough bang for my buck.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Home Theater PC

Pros: Compact
Easy to set up
Simple to use
Slot Load DVD drive

Cons: Asus Bloatware (but let's be honest, that's on every prebuilt computer)
No Bluetooth (easy fix with $20 adapter)

Other Thoughts: I purchased this to use as a home theater computer with the primary use of running XBMC. I haven't used XBMC very much yet, but I am very impressed with this little guy. It won't replace a modern gaming system, but it works great for music, movies, and retro gaming. One top feature in my opinion is that since it runs Windows, I can watch videos on network websites; something my Logitech Revue couldn't handle.

For those who want to know, this can handle 8GB of RAM. To be honest, I haven't ran a stress test with 8GB installed, but the BIOS and Windows both report 8GB now that I have made the upgrade.

I have connected a few devices without any issues. I use a Logitech K400 lapboard, and a Logitech DiNovo Mini. I have also connected a wired Xbox controller to it.

XBMC runs great, as does Chrome browser for Netflix viewing. I also installed ZSNES for playing old school games and that ran without a hitch. I plan to also run NES, Genisis, and maybe even N64 emulators on this system (if I can find a controller to support that many buttons).

I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to set up a home theater PC.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HTPC Client Box

Pros: A perfect little HTPC for any TV. Handles 1080p MKV with no problems at all -- no tearing, stuttering, anything. Strong wifi, great form factor (though a little pudgier than some competitors), and nice full-size keyboard and mouse included. And at this price, an incredible value.

Cons: 2GB is a little small but not a problem for XBMC. Also very easy to upgrade to 4GB. A little wider in the shortest dimension than some competitors.

Other Thoughts: I'd buy a houseful of these if I hadn't already bought more-expensive, less-capable HTPC client boxes.
