Cons: Seem to be having issues where the computer will completely freeze. Can't even move the mouse. I've deducted that it is probably caused by bad memory issues. Unfortunately, I need my computer for work so I can't go without it for the few days it would take to have it exchanged, so I will just have to suck it up. Thankfully it does not happen all that often and is quick to restart when it does happen.

Pros: good graphics

Cons: had this computer for two days and ran the performance index off the control panel and it fried the gpu got it all the way up to 180f

Pros: System has an extremely fast processor (Core i7 3770), 16 GB of RAM, 2 TB HDD and a decent video card for average users in the GT 630

Cons: No SSD from factory and ASUS customer service is terrible.

Other Thoughts: This system is a very well configured mid-tower desktop that can handle pretty much anything you can throw at it. After purchasing, I immediately upgraded the factory hard drive with a Crucial M4 SSD. The SSD combined with the configuration of the system makes it scream! I am very pleased with the overall performance of the system.

Windows 8, while many do not like it, is not a bad operating system. It's new, and many people dislike change. If you take the time to learn the ins and outs of the operating system you will more than likely begin to like it.

My only complaint about this system has been with ASUS technical support. As with many manufacturer's in today's world, you now have to create your own system recovery disks. In years past, manufacturers would include these disks with your system in the event that you would have to recover the system to it's original factory setting. Not only does ASUS not provide the factory recovery disk but they do not even have any software on the system to create your own recovery media.

I contacted ASUS about this and the first representative essentially tried to tell me this was Microsoft's doing and not ASUS. He explained to me about system backup and the recovery drive that you can create within Windows 8. I am aware of both of these options, and while the recovery boot drive would work (assuming you have a recovery partition) it's not quite what you would expect.

The second phone call, the representative clearly told me that there is no software installed by ASUS to create your own recovery media. In the event that your hard drive were to fail and you needed to recover your system, you would have to send the system into ASUS and have them do it for you.

As some may know already, Windows 8 no longer has a license key sticker on the case of a pre-built system. This means that the days of using an OEM disk for a manufacturer and entering in that license key are over. The license key is now embedded into the UEFI. I have read some alternative ways to do this, and I have no worry in figuring out an alternative in the future should I ever need too, but those who aren't savy enough and just simply like to create a recovery disk and keep those disks in a safe place may want to look elsewhere.
