5 out of 5 eggsGreat Unit!

Pros: Bought over a dozen when we upgraded our business network - these are the computers at all the work stations and they have been superb! It's a relatively light work load, 8-10 hour days, 5/6 days a week. All our units are mounted on the back of the monitor, which is a huge space savor in our work stations!

Cons: There is no CD/DVD Drive - but for our application we don't need one.

Other Thoughts: Our users primarily use the network to view PDF (and sometimes DOC) files, so the units aren't working all that hard... but I have used this unit to run AutoCAD 2013 with no problems (even when I had multiple PDF's open and a remote Desktop Connection running!) Oh yeah - I use them to connect to other units remotely every so often, and they handle it just fine!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat little machine

Pros: Bought this as a replacement for my parents. Love the small footprint and it's great for them since they really only surf the internet. If you're not a heavy user, this should be great for you.

Cons: If you like to use your computer for CD's or DVD's, you'll have to get an external hard drive.

4 out of 5 eggsUseful for certain purposes.

Pros: VERY low wattage usage, onboard nVidia GPU useful for video decoding (viewing). Gigabit LAN and USB3.0. Did NOT come with Windows 8 (Yes, this is a PRO.)

Cons: Severe lack of documentation from ASUS. No dis-assembly or upgrade information available anywhere. (Search youtube for some great how to videos.)

Getting backup media for the OS is near impossible in the US.

Manufacturer doesn't even know their own specs. (see Other Thoughts).

All of the above costs them one Egg.

Not able to handle any significant processing workloads (as expected; this is an ATOM based machine.) so plan accordingly for your intended use.

Other Thoughts: For those who are curious, the unit I bought and received the day of this review came with a Seagate Momentus Thin 320GB drive, and 2GB of PC-12800 (DDR1600) SK Hynix DDR3 SO-DIMM HMT325S6CFR8C.

Note: All the ASUS documentation states PC-8500 (DDR1066) is the max. supported. Even the Intel Atom site states this. But sure enough, it shipped with RAM which is rated at the DDR1600 speed. I don't know if it's stepping down to DDR1066 speeds, I need to do further investigation. NewEgg properly lists the memory speed (last I checked), so kudos to them.

I personally swapped out the 2GB for 4GB as the OS and apps I use already were pushing the physical limit out of the box. I have also swapped in an OCZ Vertex3 SSD as the primary drive for power consumption, speed, and durability reasons.

The onboard nVidia GPU *DOES* decode 10-bit H.264 (very popular in the anime segment these days).

5 out of 5 eggsEasy replacement

Pros: Size, preloaded software, name brand, easy access to USB and audio

Cons: Wanted Windows 7, not Windows 8 that came on it.
