4 out of 5 eggs  3 months later

Pros: Shipped really fast even thru the holiday weekend. I've played most games on high to ultra, of course with some exceptions; BF3-4, Skyrim, AC Black Flag, Sniper Ghost 2. Those played on Med/High. It's nicer using C4D, AE and PS CS6. I didn't have to overclock to play and use. I've been to the forums at Tom's Hardware.com and they said it dosnt need a lot. Later a PSU, 3d party Cooler and optionally overclock that's it...

Cons: 3 months later and it's still hard to come up with anything...

Other Thoughts: As the title suggest I've had this model now for 3months. I don't understand the other comments about the Graphics card unable to play any game on at least high/ultra. Yes, it's a little fan noisy when playing BO2 Zombies, BF3~4 ect. But there was no dramatic system failure on any parts or software. The HD 8760 GPU is a renamed HD 7770. You can Google or Youtube it to see how well it performs. That's it maybe in another 3...

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Buy

Pros: Very easy setup, Just your basic windows registrations.
Sleek looking case with plenty of USB ports 2.0 and 3.0.
Fast speeds right out of the box, yet can be upgraded as it only comes with a 300W PSu.

Cons: None that I have personally found so far.

Other Thoughts: Nice find, If I would've waited another month I could have gotten another $60 off but I've enjoyed the time I've played with it.

1 out of 5 eggsUnderpowered and video card bad

Pros: This PC has a nice case, fans run very quiet - Newegg is the tops as the source for great stuff - this is why there is the one egg as thanks.

Cons: Bought this for my son knowing from the reviews that we would have to upgrade the power supply. Asus, really ? A 300W PS with an octocore CPU ? Well, disappointment has turned to anger because this rig didn't last more than 48 hrs. I wanted my son to use this for a day or so to verify everything else worked fine before we replaced the PS. Well, the video card failed before 48 hrs were up and I had to replace not only the power supply as planned but also the video card as well. i am very angry at ASUS because I have always respected them for the great MOBO's that I have used to build PC's for myself. This is just dishonesty and purposeful malice to have a video card fail this soon. Judging from the other reviews here, I am not the only one that had this issue. The very least ASUS could do is accept the video card as a return and issue a store credit with New Egg. Either way, something is necessary to keep this customer from losing faith in Asus products altogether.

Other Thoughts: Recommend you do not buy this PC until there is some response from Asus to acknowledge this issue and announce that it has been fixed.

1 out of 5 eggsdepression

Pros: quiet, good cpu

Cons: Gfx card, power supply, warranty, no hard drive spinning light on the case. short cable length of mouse, keyboard, and monitor power supply.

Bought two computers. First one had Gfx card die the second day I got it. Second computer had the driver die later that same day. Can't install new drivers in safe mode, and resetting to factory default doesn't work, so can only assume the second computers Gfx card also died.

The warranty is ridiculous. Basically it's a do not open or the warranty is void. Try telling a car owner that they can't pop the hood of their car unless they want the warranty voided.

Other Thoughts: Wrote a review earlier for just one of the PCs before the second one also crapped out later that same day. I love ASUS motherboards, but wouldn't buy another whole PC from them. Why can't I just send a faulty part back instead of a whole PC? They were just a parts place before. They know parts and how to deal with it, why the need to hamstring loyal followers like this with they wonky warranty on full PCs.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

If your computer is brand-new, opening the case may void your manufacturer’s warranty especially if the case has a seal sticker on it. To discuss your concerns about your unit, please reach out to me at cl-celeste@asus.com and include case#3516991 in the subject line. Also, please provide me its serial number. ASUS Customer Loyalty is here to listen and respond to your concerns and to help you with a positive ASUS experience.

Sincerely,
Celeste

2 out of 5 eggsSigh...

Pros: Good CPU

Cons: Bad GFx card

Other Thoughts: Installed 2 games and firefox on day 1. A day later the computer crashed while in a game(first time I ran a game on this PC). Now I get graphical artifacts if I get anything to display at all. I sent in a trouble shooting e-mail. but that's just a formality since I'll have to send it back anyway for faulty Gfx card.

2 out of 5 eggsFar Cry Offer Not Valid

Pros: Reasonably quiet machine and good price.

Cons: The Far Cry coupon expired four days before buying the machine despite being shown on the web page to this day. Attempts to get it validated from AMD and NewEgg went no where. The service person from NewEgg did offer this advice after saying they couldn't honor a manufacturers coupon:

"You can simple add this item into your cart. If it is offered by us, it will be added into your cart with this item directly."

I have no idea what this means.

3 out of 5 eggsGood, with some issues

Pros: Best price for an Octa Core processor at the time of purchase.

Sufficient GPU for MOST games. I've played NBA 2k14, Borderlands 2, and World of warcraft with no issues on the highest settings.

Many USB ports. 10 total

Runs cool and quiet

Nice looking case

Windows 7

Cons: Bad power supply. 300w. Barely sufficient enough to power graphics card

Bad sound. I mean BAD. Volume doesn't go very high at all and there is a large amount of static when hovering over links when headphones are plugged in to the front headphone jack. This can be fixed by plugging it into the slot in the back, but is very annoying unless your headphones have a huge headphone cord. Plan on getting another sound card.

No built in wireless

Cannot open computer case without voiding the warranty

Other Thoughts: For the money it's a good buy with a few modifications. I'd recommend buying a new Power Supply and graphics card asap if you plan on playing brand new current games on higher settings. Although this isn't unheard of for a under $1k tower. Keep in mind simply opening the case of your PC WILL void the warranty.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat! when it works....

Pros: Price (got it during black Friday)
Games well with decent graphics card.
Enough ram, I usually never reach max but it has the ability to upgrade. 1 stick. 8gb.
Good start up pc to customize.

Cons: When its not freezing up and taking 10 minutes just to bring up my windows login, I love it. I have wasted entirely too much time troubleshooting faulty hardware than should be necessary for a new PC. A chkdsk /r seems to have allowed me to use the computer again but upon waking up the next morning it froze after startup again. A factory reset did nothing. It works on and off for now and I am sure will slowly degrade again. Now I find out I have to practically send my rebate back in order to get it fixed since I have to pay shipping to Asus.

4 out of 5 eggsImportant info

Pros: Overall it's good for the price.
It's pre-built and should run out of the box.
But, it has a serious flaw (see below)

Cons: After reading the reviews for this computer, and seeing a number of GPU related issues. I decided to review this product.

The included AMD Radeon HD 8760 1GB requires a minimum recommended PSU of 450w or greater. The 300w PSU that comes with this system is insufficient to meet this computers power needs.

Other Thoughts: For those who have had issues with the included GPU, it is likely not the GPU's fault, rather it is the low watt PSU.

Replacing the PSU with 450w + should correct this flaw and still provide a reasonably good computer for a reasonably good price.
