2 out of 5 eggsOn the Fence

Pros: The good about this computer is it is loaded with a bunch a preloaded apps as most..boots rigt up..expandable

Cons: Weak psu expected from a pre-built system I'am on second computer as the first one the gpu went out and who knows what other damage that caused this was after having it for three days..sent back for replacement since asus wants you to pay for shipping on warranty work which on a brand new computer they should stand behind their product...and pay to have it shipped back ..

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsDo NOT BUY a desktop from ASUS

Pros: if the unit actually had what it says inside the price is AWESOME. However, much to my surprise the description was too good to be true. Upon receiving the unit and updating the drivers I discovered that the graphics card and power supply were not what was listed in the description and ASUS is aware. If you don't know much about computers don't buy from Asus because who knows what will be inside your computer!

Cons: video card and power supply in the unit are not as advertised! when i got the unit it would not play basic video and could not load wow for more than three seconds without the video card overheating. I called ASUS and got the run around and they finally admitted that the card that was in the unit was a 7770m not and 8760 hd, and that the power supply was 287, not 300 . They said they would fix the issues no problem BUT we had to pay shipping. SO FYI if you buy a desktop from ASUS under warranty it does not cover shipping, even if it doesn't work out of the box. You will pay $100+ every time.

Other Thoughts: don't buy from ASUS they are scam artists! they sell you non working desktops with the wrong parts inside and then want to charge you shipping for them to fix a BRAND NEW computer.

AMD Radeon HD 8760 1GB (NOT more like 7770m)

Power Supply (LIES 287 is not 300W)
300W

2 out of 5 eggsVery Frustrating

Pros: Quiet and fast. Nice graphics. 24 hour ASUS tech service. A nice upgrade from my last computer... if it would work properly.

Cons: Windows wouldn't start properly on day one after doing some updates. A call to ASUS customer service and a system recovery reset took care of that (luckily I hadn't migrated anything over). On day three the graphics card kept quitting when playing games online. After ASUS walked me through reinstalling the drivers, and the problem got worse, a return to them for repair was suggested. I had spent day two loading programs and files. Now I have to decide whether to pay shipping costs to return it to ASUS (but have my programs in tact) or return it for free to Newegg for a total replacement.

Other Thoughts: Not sure an upgrade has been worth the frustration.

4 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly good.

Pros: This computer is FAAAAST. I bought it with the main intent of gaming and after a day or two of downloading Windows Updates and Updating Drivers it was good to go. From my experience the computer managed to run Bioshock Infinite and Modded Skyrim on High with a solid 60fps and hardly any game lag.

Cons: The build in PSU is a bit low and that is somewhat concerning. If you are going to get this PC I'd suggest installing a 600-700w PSU (ESPECIALLY if you're going to do what I did and have this as a base for gaming.

Other Thoughts: Overall this computer blew my expectations out of the water. If you want to get into PC gaming this would be a good starting PC. (Note, I had to pay about 40 extra dollars of tax so don't be surprised when it costs about 620 dollars.)

5 out of 5 eggsBarn Burner!

Pros: fast, Fast, FAST, FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFAST!
Did I mention it's FAST!
Now my last DIY rig was 7 when it kicked the CPU, but still, 8 cores compressing video knocks off hours in minutes.
Silent
Economical

Cons: Worried a bit by the PSU, it's not as big as I'd like, but still, all 8 cores purring away, and no problems, so maybe I just worry too much.
Keyboard was amusing, dark grey text on black, very Zen, very impossible to see, but if the price for the power is shaking the pop tart crumbs from my old keyboard, no problem.

Other Thoughts: For those of us down and below median income in the US, which means half of us, it's blessings like this that make it possible to still survive even with inflation eating away at our stagnant wages. All true, Google it.

2 out of 5 eggsRolled the Dice......

Pros: This PC shipped fast, and looked great out of the box. Even though I read all the reviews, and knew there was a chance I might have some problems, I hoped I would be one of the lucky customers with a solid machine.

Cons: No such luck. The computer gave me the blue screen the day I got it, and then crashed. I called New Egg and they directed me to ASUS. I then went through all the trouble to master reset the PC remotely. After that it didn't work again, so finally through in the towel and attempted to use the RMA. Had to go to another city to ship the thing, and had to pay more money to ship the unit back. The refund came soon, but never saw any payback for either the additional warranty I purchased, or for the money spent on the RMA. I wrote a letter asking for 100% refund and received no reply. What I waste of time and money.

Other Thoughts: A new PC shouldn't give anyone this much trouble out of the box. If I purchased a car and it was on the side of the road as soon as I left the lot, I would want 100% of my money back. I am looking for a replacement PC now, but truthfully I am not sure what kind of repeat experience I am going to have after dealing with this.

4 out of 5 eggs  3 months later

Pros: Shipped really fast even thru the holiday weekend. I've played most games on high to ultra, of course with some exceptions; BF3-4, Skyrim, AC Black Flag, Sniper Ghost 2. Those played on Med/High. It's nicer using C4D, AE and PS CS6. I didn't have to overclock to play and use. I've been to the forums at Tom's Hardware.com and they said it dosnt need a lot. Later a PSU, 3d party Cooler and optionally overclock that's it...

Cons: 3 months later and it's still hard to come up with anything...

Other Thoughts: As the title suggest I've had this model now for 3months. I don't understand the other comments about the Graphics card unable to play any game on at least high/ultra. Yes, it's a little fan noisy when playing BO2 Zombies, BF3~4 ect. But there was no dramatic system failure on any parts or software. The HD 8760 GPU is a renamed HD 7770. You can Google or Youtube it to see how well it performs. That's it maybe in another 3...

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Buy

Pros: Very easy setup, Just your basic windows registrations.
Sleek looking case with plenty of USB ports 2.0 and 3.0.
Fast speeds right out of the box, yet can be upgraded as it only comes with a 300W PSu.

Cons: None that I have personally found so far.

Other Thoughts: Nice find, If I would've waited another month I could have gotten another $60 off but I've enjoyed the time I've played with it.

1 out of 5 eggsUnderpowered and video card bad

Pros: This PC has a nice case, fans run very quiet - Newegg is the tops as the source for great stuff - this is why there is the one egg as thanks.

Cons: Bought this for my son knowing from the reviews that we would have to upgrade the power supply. Asus, really ? A 300W PS with an octocore CPU ? Well, disappointment has turned to anger because this rig didn't last more than 48 hrs. I wanted my son to use this for a day or so to verify everything else worked fine before we replaced the PS. Well, the video card failed before 48 hrs were up and I had to replace not only the power supply as planned but also the video card as well. i am very angry at ASUS because I have always respected them for the great MOBO's that I have used to build PC's for myself. This is just dishonesty and purposeful malice to have a video card fail this soon. Judging from the other reviews here, I am not the only one that had this issue. The very least ASUS could do is accept the video card as a return and issue a store credit with New Egg. Either way, something is necessary to keep this customer from losing faith in Asus products altogether.

Other Thoughts: Recommend you do not buy this PC until there is some response from Asus to acknowledge this issue and announce that it has been fixed.
