3 out of 5 eggsWas asked to contact Asus. Well....

Pros: See my earlier review as far as the PC is concerned.

Cons: I contacted Asus as per the instructions given on the "sorry you're having problem's" response. I received one email back, and that was it. I believe Asus has NO intention of correcting this problem that their own update site generated. Very discouraged.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I apologize if you didn't get an email response back with your support questions. We do take customer service very seriously and if you are still having issues with the unit and need further assistance, please email me at and write down service# N150357691 on the subject line.

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

3 out of 5 eggsComputer okay, service not okay

Pros: Fairly decent computer, seems fast enough, and handles what I do fairly efficiently. I do some video editing, and that can be taxing on a PC. This one seems to handle it well.

Cons: Asus service. I had to update Realtek Audio. I downloaded it from the Asus website, and made sure it was specific to my computer. Upon completion of the update, Waves MaxxAudio (came with the computer) had lost all functionality. Both Waves and Asus refuse to stand behind it. So, I'm not getting all that I paid for, and they seem to be just fine with that.

Other Thoughts: I've always purchased Asus motherboards and have had really good luck with them. This is my first Asus PC. If the PC performs as well as their customer service, this is not going to be a good purchase.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsHigh quality for a good price

Pros: I started out looking for a high end system for gaming on ultimate settings, future proof to 1440K @120Hz (as soon as I can afford the monitor!). I thought my best bet was to build my own PC and began scouring the budget tech sites for components. After a month of researching I specced out the best high end gaming rig I could afford. I had to make compromises on processor, memory speed, and video card (read: AMD). This 'compromise' gaming rig I designed came to over $1100 without an OS and disc drive. Then while searching for better, cheaper components Newegg politely recommended this system and I realized it had almost everything I originally wanted for cheaper than I could ever find on a component level. AND it comes fully constructed made by a company I respect? I could not shove my money into the monitor fast enough (probably due to the lackluster speed of my old system, definitely time for an upgrade!).
Intel 4770 > AMD 8350 ($200)
ASUS GTX760 3GB > same card at 2GB ($250)
Comes with case ($60), 16GB@1600 memory ($200), m'board ($130), power supply ($80), 1TB@7200 drive ($80), wifi card ($30), case components, fans, etc. ($100).
At time of purchase this entire system was on $50 discout +$100 Mail in rebate and a free game (Assassin's Creed IV) with Newegg's free shipping totalling ~$1050.
No brainer.

Cons: I couldn't beat the price of this system and the only cons are other compromises I had to make for affordability and not necessarily the fault of the system itself.
I would have preferred a small solid state drive for the OS and some games. Since this system comes with the OS pre-installed and no disc I have to jump through hoops to set this up.
And speaking of OS, it comes with windows 8... a definite con.
I would have preferred faster memory but that is a small matter, 1600Mhz is plenty. I haven't looked into whether the m'board can handle faster...
The antenna for the wifi is a cool design but flimsy and I broke it just setting up the computer... no problem its a gaming desktop and will be plugged in but still.
The motherboard has no SLI support, again the graphics card is so good on it's own that SLI is ridiculous but I've heard some amazing results can be gleaned from a 760 in SLI and it would have been nice to have the option.
The processor is not the overclockable 'K' variant but that's only a con in the sense that my new rocket ship doesn't have leather seats.

Other Thoughts: The case is pretty quiet too even under heavy load. All around a very solid machine for an amazing value.
