Pros: This is the second unit I purchased after liking the first one so much as a basic HTPC.

HDD Caddy came included and the website has drivers etc, so earlier complants in this regard have been addressed by Asus.

It's not a rocket ship, but with 4GB+ ram it is still a quad core. I paired it with a 256GB Samsung Evo and it works great with WIndows 8.1 and 10. Boot time is 5-8 seconds.

The dedicated graphics is just enough for HTPC 1080p use. I haven't run it with dual displays but it has VGA+HDMI and supports dual use.

I have other PC's OC'd to 4.6GHz and water cooled, this thing cost less than the cooling setup I have so for value, it is great and I haven't had any problems.

It's active cooling, but very quiet in my experience.

I wall mounted it behind the TV because it is so thin, and it comes with a VESA mount to attach to the back of a monitor which with 2 drywall quick plugs and screws worked well and you can easily pop it on and off the included mount. The desktop mount is also nice looking and clean.

Cons: I wouldn't game on it, but you can't complain since the whole unit costs less than a decent video card.

Pros: Expected performance

Cons: I did not buy this model, I bought EB1033.
The CPU fan is a Laptop CPU fan which is hard to find in market.

I purchased on Oct 2103, one and half year later, the CPU fan dead, I contacted ASUS customer server, a service clerk told me the Warranty is expired. The warranty valid for only 12 month.

I said, OK, could you please sell me the CPU fan or tell me the Fan model number so I can go buy it myself.
Look at what Asus responded:
'Should you consider alternate avenues to get the unit service, we would recommend that you visit Best Buy as they are an authorized service centre.'

Other Thoughts: Be very careful if you want to buy this eeebox because you cannot not fix it by just replace the components yourself and ASUS will not take care of you after the poor warranty period.

Pros: Looks like a small, quiet and low-power mini computer!

Cons: OPEN box that Newegg sells has scratches on top of the case. No HDD caddy, drive is holding by a rubber band, clanking inside...I politely asked to replace. The answer was NO.

Other Thoughts: The ASUS Eee Box EB1037-B0570 Desktop arrived with 4 heavy scratches and usage marks on the case (on the TOP!!!) , politely asked to replace. The answer was NO. No HDD caddy included, installed the drive and it is holding by a rubber band, clanking inside...

Pros: Everything that I wanted. Great engineering.

Cons: The lack of a HDD mount makes this useless, as the HDD will disconnected and bang around in the case if moved. Asus stated that they do not make the barebones kits, they are sold to resellers whole, and the reseller [newegg] strips them down. Newegg customer support claims ignorance, but this seem clear to me that the BB kits were a rush job, and time was saved not taking the mount off the HDD. I imagine that there is a dumpster filled with the missing parts.

Other Thoughts: Going to keep trying a few more days, then may sadly have to return this.

Pros: Excellent performance for the price. Easy install.

Cons: Like the others, my only complaint is that there was no hard drive caddy. I improvised a solution with spongy foam and relied on the case to keep the HD connected. My other EB-1036 came with a HD caddy, but not this one.

Other Thoughts: Asus should send all buyers of this item the missing HD caddy.

Pros: Typical (excellent) ASUS build quality, entry price for barebones box with kind of performance is hard to beat.

Cons: *nix support on ASUS' website is non-existent (drivers, etc). Fortunately, all of the devices in this box are fairly common (contemporary, but not cutting-edge), so BSD and linux drivers are prevalent.

Other Thoughts: To potential buyers looking for a screamer lil' HTPC or Carputer on the cheap… this is a great way to go.

Other Thoughts: I too received this barebones system without a hard drive caddy, making this net-top useless. I previously purchased the Asus eb1033 barebones and that one came with the hard drive caddy. I will be contacting Asus support since this hard drive caddy is specifically designed for these types of systems made by Asus.

Pros: - low power consumption, energy-efficient;
- small form factory, space-saving, great for office/HTPC/video streaming;
- competively priced, wifi included.

Cons: - missing the hard drive caddy, contacted newegg and was told that they did not provide that; Come on Asus you should include hard drive caddy for Barebone system, learn from Gigabyte, Zotac, or even Foxconn. I have owned all and all included the hard drive caddy;
- included 820m GPU which was slower/score less than embedded J1900 graphic, what's the point?

Other Thoughts: Why this barebone system did not include the hard drive caddy? Others such as Foxconn, Zotac, Gigabyte all provided Hard drive caddy for the barebone. Without caddy, the drive will not be moving around inside and might have loose connection. Does Asus force consumer to pay for HDD caddy intentionally or I just had a bad luck missing one from my order.
