Works great
- Pros: The case is lightweight. My smaller HP computer feels like a boulder compared to this one. Plenty of room for upgrades. I've been using it for several months now. It works great!
- Cons: It's longer and taller than my previous computer, although it still fits in my computer cubby with plenty of space to spare.
- Other Thoughts: I don't really need all the cool lights and Halo side panel, but I don't dislike them.
Good, But Held Back
- Pros: This computer, quite simply, is a steal for this price. You get a quad core processor, 4 gigs of ram, and a very-very good starter computer for your gaming enthusiast. The case, on which one side is emblazoned with a print of Halo 2 is a bit out of date, considering how old Halo 2 is. But, it gets the job done, and has some real nice blue lighting to it. It's a very large case, which I like because it allows for greater airflow inside the case. The front part of the computer is on a hing which hides the disk try and that business, it can get a bit annoying when you want it to stay open, but it is a nice touch because it makes it look a bit more sleek.
- Cons: The biggest con I've experienced with this computer is the lousy video card and the low-power PSU. One other pretty small con is that although it has 4 gigs of ram, it's already full-up. There are no more slots on the CPU so if you wanted to upgrade the ram you'll have to buy a 4 gig stick, which is quite pricey compared to 2 gig sticks these days. The PSU isn't very powerful as well, and that can lead to some problems. I don't know if this is a direct cause of it, but on my computer I find my USB ports a bit underpowered. The front ports don't carry enough power to power my WD passport, but the back ones do. I have attributed this to there being a lot of USB ports, but not enough power to power them fully.
- Other Thoughts: This is, as I said earlier, an amazing computer. I'm thinking about buying another for my girlfriend (Who, bless her, is not that up on current computer trends, but she likes to do some gaming, and have a quick machine) for under 500 dollars it is very affordable, and with another 100-200 dollars of upgrades you can have an amazing computer. I replaced the card with a HIS AMD 4670 (A budget card) and on games such as Counter-Strike: Source I get over 60 FPS with every setting maxed. So if you are looking to get a start on a budget gaming rig, or are looking to not spend an arm and a leg buying a gift for your favorite computer enthusiast then this one is for you.
- Pros: All I can say is that this computer gets the job done and is CHEAP for what you get!
- Cons: Low powered video card is the only thing holding this computer back
- Other Thoughts: I am extremely happy with this computer!
