2 out of 5 eggsgood specs, bad parts, horrible manufacturer

Pros: great specs, ran well for a while

Cons: power supply broke 3 months in, which seems to be the norm for this computer, after going through the customer service line and filling out the etailer rma request form three times I still have not heard anything back from this company. Whenever I call in they tell me that I filled out the form wrong. I just want what I paid for.

Other Thoughts: I'm really surprised newegg works with a company like this.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is the fastest machine I've ever owned. I have only installed one game so far, EQ2, and was able to run it on the highest graphics while soling, there was some hesitation, but I didn't install a frame counter. Also, like a few others have mentioned, it came with a 700w instead of the 500w Newegg listed in specifications. Everything loaded right up, and is running smoothly.

Cons: I have encountered a couple minor issues. First, it was an open box unit, and the mouse was not there. Very disappointing, and not covered by Newegg's open box policy, but to be expected I suppose. Second, the monitor would not get a video signal using the native DB9 port, it came with a DVI adapter, and works just fine using the adapter, but I'm concerned that there may be a problem with the MoBo, or maybe the native DB9 is disabled by the video card. Another odd issue is that the front audio output (for speakers/headphones) doesn't seem to work, although the rear one does. Not sure what that's about.

Other Thoughts: So I have a handful of small issues with the machine, but at $580 open box, I might just run with it anyways, seeing as how I don't really need the DB9, a mouse is cheap and I had a spare, and the rear panel audio output works. Also, I just got it last night and havn't talked to tech support about any of the issues. Tonight I'll pull the panel off and look for loose connections, I would expect the DB9 to be soldered, but the front panel audio output is probably a remote board.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Happy

Pros: Arrived quickly
worked well for 3 weeks

Cons: After only owning it for 3 weeks the CPU would not send signal to the monitor. Called the manufacturer's tech support to try and fix it, and it was a no go. Have to return it. My first purchase from NewEgg and very disappointed.

4 out of 5 eggsWell Built Computer

Pros: I received this computer a little over a week ago and I have been very pleased with it so far. The build quality was very good. Nothing was broken or misplaced and everything was put together in a professional manner. It also came with a 700 watt power supply instead of the advertised 500 watt. It started right up and ran like a charm. I can now play Mechwarrior Online at 1920x1080p at about 35 fps. The gtx 560 is a lot better than the ones in other builds at this price and has overclocked well so far without too much extra heat thanks to the fans and the large amount of case space (up from 820 mhz to 880 on the core clock and up from 4000 mhz to 4300 on the mem).

Cons: It doesn't run MWO quite as well as I expected. I had hoped to get about 40-45 fps on medium graphics in hi res without OC but I could only get 30. Dropping the settings down to low and overclocking has got me to about that fps range. Also for $729 i think it should at least have a fx-8120 instead of the 6100 which would help perf.

Other Thoughts: The only reason I don't give this machine a 5 is that I bought an open box version for $580 which was a real steal. I would be hard pressed to find anything better under the $600 mark. If i had bought it for the full price I would definitely wanted something with a better processor. Despite this its still a great machine and will serve you well as long as you aren't expecting 60 fps on the highest settings.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA Piece of Junk

Pros: There are no pros to owning this machine.

Cons: I have owned this computer for 6 weeks, and have yet to get it working. Got a replacement graphics card because the original was severely underperforming (could barely get 20 fps in LOL at 1024x768) and driver updates etc. did nothing. Finally install the new card, the mobo goes. Send in the whole machine, get a new mobo put in, get it back, only onboard graphics work. Am now waiting for another new motherboard to come in. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a company. Also, they would not do advanced parts returns for me, and I was stuck with ~3 week turnaround on parts because I bought from a third party retailer (Newegg). After I sent in the whole computer once, at least now they are willing to do advanced parts replacement. I have spent so long on trying to get it repaired that I am now unable to return it to Newegg due to the computer being out for repairs longer than the return period.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend buying from ibuypower ever.

5 out of 5 eggsnailed it

Pros: booted right up and installed the lasted games like GW2, CS:GO and Borderlands 2, all run at high settings no problem. Boot up time is fast 20 sec at the ,ost to do a restart.

Cons: The FX-series of CPU's has a conflicting setting for many steam powered games (such as CS:GO). But if you just go to GIGABYTE's web page and download their new BIOS updates for your motherboard it runs fine.

1 out of 5 eggsBUYER BEWARE - Decent specs - Completely rubbish components

Pros: High specs with a 2GB graphics card, nice processor, and 8GB of RAM for a pretty decent price. Quick start up and plays most games fairly well (not perfectly). The pros stop there.

Cons: I've literally only used this computer for a total of 1.5 months over the last year. I've had it in storage for most of the time. It is still in pristine condition. Within a week of using it the computer it started just shutting off due to the power supply. I heard a few people talk about this before, but thought it might be a fluke. IT ISN'T!

The parts for this computer are off brand and complete junk. The hard drive was put in crooked because it doesn't fit properly into the case. The case feels very flimsy and is definitely on the low end.

Finally, in order to get a new power supply sent out I have to send back the power supply on MY DIME, wait for them to receive it, and then wait for them to send me back another one. I looked online and these Coonix power supplies are about $40-50 new. If you don't know how to swap power supplies, you would need to send the whole unit back (the cost would be immense).

On top of this the customer service was extremely rude and defensive, saying, "we make barely anything off each system, if we gave you free shipping we would take a loss on the unit". They wouldn't listen rationally to my complaint. They are willing to lose a customer over shipping costs on a bad part they sold!

The only thing I can do is inform people of their customer support and their quality of product. I'm not sure what other custom computer companies are like, but unless you want to roll the dice with iBuyPower, go ANYWHERE else.

Other Thoughts: BUYER BEWARE. The cost *seems* good, but the parts you get WILL fail and they do NOT cover the cost to ship back. I'm just buying a new power supply instead, because at least I'll get a warranty with it. Read the other reviews, these issues are not isolated. The only people with positive feedback have not had the system long enough.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the inconvenience. Please email me your issues and RMA#/call back #. we will respond to your request within 1 business day. We are extremely sorry with the power supply issue. We are looking into every issue seriously and taking the action to avoid these problems in the future. Thanks again for choosing iBuypower and we hope we can solve these issues as soon as possible. If you have not already submitted your RMA online. You can go to www.ibuypower.com/retail.aspx and register your information to speed up the process of the RMA.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Looked nice with good specs for the price.

Cons: Arrived DOA with the power supply not working. Went through the hoops to get a replacement and saw my RMA was processed back at the return address.

After waiting for a few days, they send an email saying that it will be processed as a refund. So I contact support and they basically tell me that they switched it to a refund because it was out of stock.

They never sent an email explaining what happened and I paid off the card after i saw the RMA was processed so now I have to jump to jump through hoops with the bank to get that money back.

Other Thoughts: Horrible time with the return, but customer service told me to leave my feedback here.

4 out of 5 eggsPrice drop?...

Pros: So I just got the PC and it works perfectly save for a few case mishaps made from the safety foam inside. I am kind of angry at the fact that the price dropped right after I ordered it, around 60$ gone from that, which is more or less a scam. Well, I can't really complain, it's my first premade "gaming" laptop and I'm just happy it works, at least that's what I hope for in the coming weeks.

Cons: None yet.
