5 out of 5 eggsHP COMPUTER

Pros: This is a great computer for upgrading and has enough power to do any job like photos, video editing and many other tasks. I bought it for those reasons and is first time using Windows 8 after doing all the updates which is normal for any new computer I upgraded to Windows 8.1 which I found pretty easy to get comfortable using I was use to using Windows 7 on my desktop and was going to get a computer with 7 on it until I saw this one with all the features on it plus being able to upgrade the memory to 32gb and video if I like but found that the video is great quality. I would just say this is a great computer at a great price !!!!!!!

Cons: NONE !!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PC

Pros: It's a well built machine. It has lots of memory and great performance. I use it for photo editing using Photoshop and Lightroom and it handles the work like a champ.

Cons: Windows 8. Yep I said it! It is sadly the primary negative of the machine. It's an awkward piece of software that makes many tasks harder. If you have a touch screen interface, many of these problems go away, however. But, if you can work around that little problem, it's really a great machine. And as another reviewer said, it comes with Windows 8.0, which needs a set of updates before you can even upgrade to Windows 8.1, which then will need further updates before you could upgrade to Windows 8.1 Update 1. So, set aside some time for updating the first couple of days you have it.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: You get what you pay for.

Cons: Mouse failed out of box. Memory failed at address failure, opened to find mix manufactured memory sticks. DIDN'T EXPECT THAT... don't have time to play games...
What are you going to do. Too much time invested in it already.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PC

Pros: Fast, runs at 4.14ghz! Lots of room to upgrade, quiet, looks nice.

Cons: Windows 8. I use the desktop mode, but its just different enough from 7 to be annoying. I'm sure it will pass as I get more familiar.

Other Thoughts: It shows a speed of 4.14ghz and thats how I got it out of the box. I don't know if thats normal, but it was supposed to be 3.7ghz. I'm just using it for work, media and music. I don't really play games on PC.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good box

Pros: A great box for just about anything. As long as you understand your limits. I'm using this for a custom app that runs on EL6.
Adding drives and memory was painless. Box is totally silent. I like the big red light bar, reminds me of a cylon.

Cons: The only problem I had was getting Win8 and Secure Boot to go away. That and the onboard NIC is not detected or driven by stock CentOS 6.4
The free keyboard has really bad no-tactile keys and is a ergo nightmare.

Other Thoughts: I would buy it again. Great value.

4 out of 5 eggsAdditional thoughts-updates needed

Pros: Impressed by the speed and price.

Cons: Automatic updates were not turned on - Windows 8 needed 70 updates - which took multiple reboots and several batch downloads - 2 hours maybe? Not sure why the included version of Windows 8 on this PC was so outdated. Needed to make the updates before the PC would even "see" the Windows 8.1 update in the Microsoft store (which installed fine after the updates).

Also, Norton Antivirus installed on startup, even when I told the setup to not activate. Downloaded CCleaner and it did a great job of removing Norton. Then had to manually go in and activate Windows Defender for antivirus - pick and choose what you want for antivirus. The Norton software was just good for just 3 months-required purchase of extended license.

4 out of 5 eggsA great budget gaming desktop

Pros: Although this computer is NOT for extreme gamers, I've found this computer can handle valve games at above 60 fps constantly at highest settings, it can handle most modern games fairly well (20-60 fps), and its cpu is marvelous. The cpu is the most outstanding thing out of the box, and the turbo boost really does work. The fact that this computer is so inexpensive is fantastic, considering how incredibly fast it is (cpu-wise). ALSO, because it has integrated graphics, one could simply go on or some other tech website and purchase an hd radeon crossfire-compatible graphics card. The best graphics crossfire card compatible with crossfire is the hd 6670. Once you add this card, it becomes a near gaming computer in my opinion. Know that if you want to overclock with ease and in depth, this isn't the computer for you. the 10-6800k is for that, but honestly the difference isn't large. Perfect for web browsing and playing videos, listening to music, and even editing videos.

Cons: Couldn't really find any... Would be nice to see a better gpu but, again, for the price, it's a great bargain.

4 out of 5 eggsFirst impressions

Pros: Refurbished - but everything is brand new - everything covered in plastic peel-off - including the mouse and keyboard. Got it at a great low price - to use for pictures and everyday computer - NOT for gaming for me at least. Price is unbelievable for 12 GB of RAM and a 2 TB hard drive. The HP Envy case is a big upgrade also - see all of the extras over a base PC below (USB3 top and back, Bluetooth 4.0, beats audio)

Cons: After watching lots of youtube benchmarks, this AMD A10 was not the fastest out there, even in its price range. But, they are clearing out inventory - now with this low price (due to lack of gamer's wanting it?) it seems like a real bargain. Gamer's might put a discreet video card in this and play some pretty demanding games on high settings.

Other Thoughts: 4 USB 2 under front sliding panel, with slots for Card readers. Top shelf of computer has headphonem microphone, and 2 USB 3. Back has 2 more USB 3 and 2 more USB 2. Video is onboard, DVI output or VGA, no HDMI. It has the Beats Audio, bluethooth 4.0, ethernet AND wireless.
WEI overall rating is 5.9
Processor 7.3
Memory 7.3
Desktop Graphics 5.9
Gaming Graphics 6.7
Primary HD 5.9
