3 out of 5 eggsOverpriced

Pros: Very nice cabinet
64-bit computer w/Win 7 Pro
8GB memory

Cons: Optical drive is read only (ROM)
Small Power Supply, 240W

Other Thoughts: I didn't notice that it doesn't have a read/write optical drive in it. If I had, I wouldn't have bought it. I think the price is just marginally OK with DVD/CD RW drive, but definitely over-priced without it.

Some other more minor dislikes are:

All the memory slots are filled up. So, this makes it more expensive, if you decide to add more memory later.

Because the power supply is so small, I'm not sure if I can put a video card in it. Then too, there's no cooling fan for the cabinet. So, I wonder if a video card might overheat, anyway. The power supply is undoubtedly proprietary which means it will be more expensive to replace, if it dies.

I didn't receive a Win 7 OS disc with mine, which is disappointing. The computer does have Win 7 pre-installed, though.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Box for the price

Pros: Lots of memory, hard drive plenty large, small footprint, quiet operation, lots of USB ports (important to me), very easy initial setup

Cons: Has DisplayPort second video output requiring me to purchase an adapter (we'll see how that works when it gets here) in order to run second monitor. Small size prohibits use of a second graphics card that I had in my old 'tower' machine.

Other Thoughts: For $260 or so delivered.....cannot best. It's not the most powerful in the world...but 8 GB of memory helps speed things up and so far no other hitches.

4 out of 5 eggssufficient desktop for price

Pros: price, 8 gig DDR3 memory(2 sticks of 4 Gb), slim factor, 8 USB ports, 1 year warranty, built in VGA. This unit will sit upright (no feet for that purpose inclu though) and it will lay down flat and made to support a lightweight monitor to sit on top of it easily

Cons: 1. came with very noisy hard drive which is distracting and irritating to a tech. I would assume the seller was wearing ear plugs to ignore this critical issue. But, it is a refurb, so you are taking your chances. (I cloned it and put it in the spare drive bay it as a spare but didn't put in service except to test it and clone it for use and warranty-return purposes, but also since the original software doesn't ship with this unit, nor does it ship with a OS DVD, the original drive will do for backup or reinstallation (Joy Systems prepared and shipped this unit and branded it with their name).
2. came with a DVD-CD player only. I replaced it with a new DVD burner purchased here at Newegg for $15 (SATA)

Other Thoughts: I'd give this 5 stars if it wasn't for the noisy hard drive.
low value Imicro keyboard and mouse included (not hp oem)
I installed a Low-Profile MSI Video card / MSI N210-MD1GD3H/LP GeForce 210 ... works great in combo with the AMD MOBO chipsets and gives you the flexibility for new monitor or TV hook ups to DVI-HDMI-VGA. When I was done I had a great desktop (and quiet) for Medium to High workload and tasks. (around $330-389) total invest) * if new-egg is out of stock, look at w a l m a r-t online for refurbs. They sell from the same supplier of refurbs except wally mart allows you to purchase a 3 year warranty for a refurb(that's outrageously good for about an extra $75).
