5 out of 5 eggsFar better than expected

Pros: Free upgrade to E5300 processor.
Interior very clean.
Two extra slots available for additional DDR2 memory.
Quick shipping

Cons: Mouse and keyboard are generic junk...but that was to be expected.
Some scratches on the exterior case...also to be expected.

Other Thoughts: If it were not for some minor blemishes on the exterior of the case, the inside of this PC was extremely clean and could have passed for brand new.
Mine also came with the slightly faster E5300 CPU. Nice bonus there. I ran it through the expected 150+/- Windows updates with no issues. I added 2 x 512mb of outdated Patriot DDR-800 memory that I had lying around for a total of 3GB. It runs like a champ.
This is for an older relative with an outdated Celeron E-Machine Windows XP piece of garbage. For $100, the old PC is being salvaged and trashed...I mean recycled. I added in a low-profile HD4350 GPU (also from my parts bin) which bumped the Windows Experience score for 3D Graphics/Gaming from 3.5 to 5.8!
This PC is for someone with basic internet/email needs. With that in mind, it is absolutely perfect considering it only cost me $100 plus adding in some outdated parts. Highly recommended.

1 out of 5 eggsWas shipped a broken computer

Pros: None.

Cons: The shipping box was pristine, however the computer case was bent. When I say bent...I mean it looks like Hulk Hogan body slammed it. The bezel was broken and not attached, the optical drive mount was broken so the drive was rattling around inside, and the case would not open at all. Because the shipping box was fine, that means the refurb company packed and mailed a damaged computer. Very disappointing that Newegg would choose to do business with a company who knowingly mails damaged goods.

Other Thoughts: Newegg was quick to offer an RMA and pay for return shipping. I ordered a replacement. Once it arrives, I will leave another review.

4 out of 5 eggsJust delivered - first review

Pros: Small, excellent condition - medium fast & cheap.
Needed a cheap computer for our weekend country place.
Will update review after open up & see what we have.

Cons: Only came with a 6o gig HD, not the 80 advertised. Has Win 7 Home - 64 bit, hoping for 32bit. Will have to add some ram & probably replace HD.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Win 7 64 bit
2.6 GHz processor (E5300, faster than description)
Expansion slots for memory

Cons: No installation media
Generic keyboard/mouse
Built-in graphics
Limited hard drive capacity
No wi-fi

Other Thoughts: Overall I am very happy with this purchase, especially for the price. Even my "cons" are reasonable given what I paid. Win 7 is 64 bit installed, key and registration worked fine. After plugging in a USB wifi, I updated Win 7. Installed a much better graphics card for minimal cost after rebate (Powercolor Green ATI 5450, 1 GB). Nice little office system with moderate gaming capability. Will likely clone the hard drive at some point to one with larger capacity, but if all it is used for is e-mail/surfing/office work, it is just fine. Mine even came with slightly faster processor than listed in the description. Have only had it running for one day, but so far no problems. I assume based on how much hard drive space is available in the C: drive (~62 GB total) that there is a recovery partition in lieu of the media not included, but I have not looked into that yet.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Hard Drive

Pros: Fairly clean looking case

Cons: ATTO reports max 66mbs speed. Swapping in another SATA 2 drive doubled the speed.

Other Thoughts: Machine really slow with original drive. "Refurbisher" obviously didn't care. Lid wasn't seated when it arrived. Took a little effort but I managed to get it seated correctly. SLOPPY!!!

2 out of 5 eggsWorks by Windows 7 is not genuine version

Pros: Has everything as described in the website. Once the con is fixed, I will review again.

Cons: I'm not able to activate the Windows 7 OS. Says the key is invalid. The key that I'm using is on the side of the computer and it is for Windows 7 Home Prem for Refurb PC's.

Other Thoughts: I think it will be good pc as soon as I finally get a valid Windows 7 key. My problem is, I don't know who to ask at NewEgg or if they even support this.
