5 out of 5 eggsimpressive for pricepoint

Pros: Price, Powerful CPU, Large RAM/Storage Capacity, Case Design, Quiet, Green, Ergonomic, No bloatware.

Cons: Features, Scaleability, No GPU, No eSATA ports.

Other Thoughts: I am very happy with this machine for it's intended purpose. My consumer LG NAS enclosure failed last week costing me access to the RAID2 drives with my data. I decided to buy a PC and use Linux software raid to manage storage and backups myself, since the consumer NAS let me down. So during the EOY sale I bought this PC with a 27" HD flatscreen and an extra 2 TB Sata3 drive for < $900.
I shrunk the Windows 7 OEM partition to 20 GB and made a VDI image out of it and stored it on an external drive. Then installed Ubuntu 12.4.1(64) as a host OS for several virtual machines of various types. I restrict each virtual to 2 GB of RAM and 50% of 2 CPU's. I can run a Myth backend with newsgrabbers on a virtual and limit the impact to the host running the Myth/xbmc front end. I also use xfce4 desktop instead of the standard Ubuntu desktop. Performance on this platform is amazing and I am very happy with my homemade NAS & Virtual host.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT SYSTEM for the $$

Pros: Fast, robust out of the box system. Stacked with great specs for the money. The Intel Core i5 3450 quad-core @ 3.10GHz is fast (with room for over-clocking) especially with the 8GB of DDR3. The 2TB hard drive is plenty spacious for mygrating all of my data over to the new system with years of space to spare. Very adequate on-board video is able to run a few of my son's video intensive games with no problems at all piped to a 1920x1080 res monitor. Built-in wireless n, built-in card reader, nice case, easy access USB ports and some big cool looking button that I still haven't figured out what its for. The mouse and keyboard are really nice too with a better feel than my current $70 logitech set that I'm using on another computer. Quiet.

Cons: Power supply a little under powered in my opinion @ 280w. *** Order this lenovo K410 just a few weeks ago. Came back today to order two more of these systems for employees in the office and Newegg is showing this computer as ... "DISCONTINUED, This item is currently out of stock and it may or may not be restocked." So Disappointed. You find a great system and learn that you can't get it any more. I know there may have been a surge on ordering this system due to Christmas but I need to order these systems today so I'm not going to be able to wait and see if they ever become available again.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent 'prosumer' rig

Pros: Price-to-performance (bout it on sale at $499)
Components (cannot price out components and build a DIY rig)
Case design
No bloatware
Plenty of expansion slots.

Cons: Low-end PSU (280W) - not enough power to upgrade to a higher tier video card.

Other Thoughts: Fan noise is excellent - very quiet.
LED under case is kind of cool. Not too bright so that it becomes a distraction.
Definitely a great 'home PC' with some upgradeability. Remember that the onboard video is 'prosumer', don't expect high-end gaming performance.
Would definitely recommend this box

5 out of 5 eggsFan

Pros: Cant help but think this would make a great HTPC out of the box. How is the fan noise?

Cons: None I can see.

4 out of 5 eggsGood performance for the money.

Pros: Good fast processer.
Large hard drive.
Enough memory to run about any application.
Nice looking box.

Cons: Be nice if the power supply was larger but if you're not going to put a dedicated GPU in it that should not be a problem.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to do mostly photo editing and it performs very well at this task, very pleased.

I also purchased the HP 2511X monitor and the two make a nice combination.

5 out of 5 eggsCan't Build it this CHEAP!

Pros: As I said in the title, I priced out the hardware and can't even get close to this price. No Windows 8

Cons: Power supply a little weak

Other Thoughts: Bought this for my son-in-law should be great for a few years.

5 out of 5 eggsAll depends on what you expect from what you buy...

Pros: Beautiful design, even when design isn't an issue for me.

At the price I purchased it here, I can't get components to built a similar desktop at this time at lower prices, even without considering I got this one without paying taxes and S&H fees.

No issues with the audio (another customer had an issue about this, and that's the reason I write this note). The difference between this PC and others I have used and/or built is that this one detects when you connect a headset or a speaker to configure it. Just following the procedure, it worked right for me.

Cons: As I wrote in the title of this review "All depends on what you expect from what you buy..." If you don't expect to upgrade this system in the future, it seems everything is ok, but if you expect to upgrade it in the future:

- you won't be able to upgrade the memory without upgrading the MOBO.

- According to the position hard drives are installed, to install another one you will need SATA conectors in the form of a letter "L" so you can close the desktop after;

- you won't need tools to install/uninstall hard drives, but the plastic frame to hold the hard drive with the hard drive temperature with the time will become harder, will lose flexibility and when trying to replace it you could break it.

- A 280W PSU for this unit seems poor... I already replace it with a 750W PSU to avoid problems in the future.

- One of the USB of the front doesn't work. I can't waste time in customer services calls or returns for this issue. I'll try to fix it by myself if possible.

Other Thoughts: As most of users that buy desktops like this one with an operating system preinstalled don't use to upgrade them even when the cons I've written here, I give to this system 5 starts. LENOVO SELLS GREAT PCs AND LAPTOPS. It's a manufacturer you can trust.

3 out of 5 eggsIntegrated audio device does not work

Pros: Fast processor speed.
Large memory.
Large disk space.

Cons: The integrated audio device does not work out of box. I never have a computer/laptop with this kind of issue. Although some trouble-shooting might solve the problem eventually, but this should not happen. The audio device is not listed in the specification, but a realTec device did show in the device list.

Other Thoughts: If someone has a solution or I missed something, please share.
