5 out of 5 eggsLike brand new

Pros: Win 7 with restore disc, Inexpensive, Very clean.

Cons: Pentium 4 runs warm so the fan is noticeable.

Other Thoughts: I added a cheap video card XFX ON-XFX1-STDR Radeon HD 5450, and 1 TB hard drive. Connected to 42inch TV via HDMI. Skyping, Netflix, Youtube, and browsing work great with a wireless keyboard.

1 out of 5 eggsNot what we ordered

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Was not not we order, wanted a tower, ordered it when it's picture showed it was a tower, received these ugly things.

Computers are loud, they take a very long time to boot up.
Battery on the MOBO may be dead, not sure, but you have to press "F1" wait a minute, then hit it again before you can even boot into windows.

takes a total of ten minutes to boot, then assuming it doesn't lock up on you, you can get a little work done.

Also, it likes to somehow un verify windows so I get locked out until I re-active it...again.

Other Thoughts: We wasn't expecting much due to the price, but we was hoping it was going to be at least usable. Very disappointed. I must have over looked the fact the ram isn't upgradable, I don't remember seeing that information or I would not have purchased it at all. 2GB isn't enough.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Machine

Pros: Great machine for the money. Bought for older friend of mine whose pentium 1 died. All he does is email and surf. This is great upgrade for him and he loved the price.
Booted right up, runs great. And came with 75 gig hard drive. I may buy one for myself just for Win 7 upgrade. And fast shipping! Ordered on Monday, received on Wednesday.

Cons: None really for this price. Cover did not want to come off but didn't try that hard.

5 out of 5 eggsHardy systems

Pros: I know these systems well. quite the lab mule, small server, workstation [add GPU of choice], etc. Really well made, nice size. I prefer now the later models for the chipset/processor etc but frankly the later mechanical design is not quite as bombproof as these older ones. in my experience quality control at HP was tight at this point in their life

Cons: old tech at this point.

Other Thoughts: only costs a few more bucks to get the Core 2's or later

5 out of 5 eggsExeptional Value!

Pros: These were recently offered at $88.99 each and I jumped on that! Although originally built with Windows XP, they were refurbished with Windows 7 home premium. I bought the "per-customer" limit of five units as an affordable way to finally retire Windows XP from my household. I am very glad I caught this sale price! The computers are better than expected. I opened three of the five boxes and had them running and updated that same day. No defects beyond a few scuffmarks and small scratches! They are office workhorses of course, but able to handle streaming video and radio as well and even have a decent sounding built in speaker as well as all the jacks and ports you would expect on a mid range PC. An advanced gamer or video producer or CAD CAM person would want more, but an average joe or jane will find these useful. My sincere thanks to the reburbishing organization for a job well done, and to NewEgg for bringing the boxes to market. Also came with new keyboard and mouse.

Cons: No restore disks, but there is a restore partition. I will be putting in larger hard drives and will need to figure out how to reload Windows on the new drives. Pretty sure it can be done, I'll google it...

Other Thoughts: Very good overall value at the price I caught them at!

4 out of 5 eggsBusiness Line Good

Pros: Price
Win 7
Build quality
Small Form Factor
USB ports
Recovery disk included!

Cons: Non-standard power supply
Cramped Case
Small hard drive

Other Thoughts: Case has at least 4 USB ports on back and 2 more on front. Floppy drive, serial, and parallel port for legacy! Not sure what the complaints over "Win 7 drivers" are; all hardware works flawlessly and got peripheral drivers as soon as they connected. The small form factor means there are compromises to off shelf desktop power supply, but the HP business line makes quality machines.

If you have an old SATA drive larger than 40GB, install it, then load Windows (disk included!)

No junkware. Good refurb with a clean interior. One I got was only powered on for 26 days total. Speed is fine for most uses.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent, irritating but decent

Pros: Pros. Comes with Windows 7. Doesn't smoke when running. Fully adequate as at this price point (<100$) the hardware is very nearly a free perk for buying a Win7 license.

Cons: Eh. Small things but irritating things. Comes with a 'free mouse', which was literally smashed. Not intentional meanness just very ill packed. Also supposed to come with 2gb of system memory. It came with 1.5gb, which is just sloppy.

Other Thoughts: Even if you'd told me they were going to screw up the ram amount and intentionally smash the free mouse, I'd have bought it anyway. As I said, at <100$ it's worth it just for the Win7 software.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Fast P4 CPU. Works without any problem. Very clean. Win 7 CD. Price of $89. 2 Gb Ram.

Cons: Window 7 was not activated. Win7 video driver is without acceleration.

Other Thoughts: HP DC7100 has no win 7 drivers. The computer is better with WinXP.

5 out of 5 eggsVery solid computer

Pros: Solid construction, price, CLEAN WINDOWS INSTALL! Not a speck of junkware to be found. Bonus 3.5" drive. Lots of USB ports.

Cons: Case is very heavy. Nonstandard 240W power supply. Cramped case.

Other Thoughts: Computer came as advertised, with a copy of Win 7 (for refurbs) on a disk, and a power cord. Packed well. The case is solid, and the top comes off with little trouble. Takes some fitting to get it back, though. DVD drive is IDE. HDD is buried underneath the power supply. Power supply and drives are packed in like sardines on one side. Fan in front right, upright CPU fan and PS fan in the back right make for good airflow. Quiet.

Windows experience numbers: CPU 3.9, mem 4.7, HD 5.1, aero graphics 1.9, gaming graphics 1.0. 24GB free on the HD with Windows installed.
