5 out of 5 eggsAwesome deal on fast enough computer.

Pros: 3 GHz duo is plenty fast for the light gaming and movie watching we will use this computer for. I did upgrade the video card with a Asus ATI Radeon HD6450 and installed a 120 GB SSD boot disk. The only thing left is to upgrade to windows 10 64 bit so I can take advantage of the 16gb of memory I have ordered. For a little over $200 this is going to be a fast little multimedia machine,

Cons: I'm not a fan of the 32 bit operating system (memory limited to 4gb total addressable memory, so if you add a 1 gb video card you really can only use 3 gb) but since there is currently a free windows 10 upgrade I could care less.

Other Thoughts: I don't know if I'd buy this to use as is but for a little extra money it makes a great workstation.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat firewall unit

Pros: What do you do with an over the hill box? at $100 you add a second NIC and make a DMZ.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: These OTH boxes are great for FreeBSD of Linux tasks that require less the Gigabit transfer speeds. This one went in to replace an aging 1U P4 gateway. I installed FreeBSD PFSENSE on it using the 64 bit option, 2GB ram is fine and drive is there just to boot from and log traffic. I use a CARP to tie the other gateways together on the low side and reverse squid proxy to route to the various web sites.

So with Open source fire wall/DMZ and $100 box + $10 network card I serve up DNS, WEB & VPN and the CPU load is in the15-20% max and runs under 120 watts. Can't beat that with any dedicated appliance at 4 times the price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal

Pros: Great price, Great value. No bloatware or other junk. Filled my father-in-laws needs perfect. (Internet, mail, youtube, banking, etc). Replaced 10 year old xp home computer that was hijacked. I couldn't even buy windows 7 for the price I paid. Delivered for about 80. Lots of USB ports. Worked straight out of the box and had no issues. Great packaging and was delivered very fast to my house. Like two days. Looks brand new.

Interesting enough that it has 2 serial ports and a parallel port. Those are probably hard to find anymore.

Cons: Kind of small hard drive if you want to install a bunch of stuff, but for our needs, it is way more than big enough.

3 out of 5 eggsGood For Everyday Computing

Pros: Good for everyday computing like surfing and email. Very minimal wear on outside case. Was clean on inside. Don't expect these to be power houses. They are just basic computers.

Cons: Tried to use for HTPC because of small size. Power supply is proprietary. The ones I received were only 230 watt. Could no find a replacement that would fit inside the case because of size and shape. Tried to use Nvidia GT630 card to get the HDMI port but it would occasionally blue screen. Most video cards require a least 300 watts minimum. Also these require a short mounting bracket. Newegg evidently get these from several different vendors as the two I bought came from different ones. Depending which vendor you get one from, they come with different size hard drives.

Other Thoughts: If you need something for just everyday computing, these should work fine.

4 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Very quiet
Clean Win7 image without bloatware
Gigabit ethernet onboard
Room for expansion for second full sized HDD

Cons: DVD ROM drive drawer sticks but I hardly ever use discs

Other Thoughts: Super quiet, which was a key goal. I use this as a server so it is always running in my home office. The Core 2 Duo is not being overtaxed in this use, so it's hard to talk about performance.

5 out of 5 eggsBest buy of the year

Pros: 99 bucks ... I cant buy a windows pro license for that the box I would swear it was brand new. no none not at all any bloatware ...bought this for my workshop to watch utube videos on how to fix stuff .. its great .. no hdmi or dvi but hey its 99 bucks set up consisted of turning it on putting in your windows numbers and BOOM !!

I still think these are new that someone ordered and returned or canceled then got lost in a warehouse somewhere for 3 years

hell it even came with a copy of Open Office

Free shipping !!!!

Cons: only a DVD reader ... I don't know why this is even worth says ..I mean its 2015 ...but it did make me frown a little .. not enough to pull an egg

ok here it is .. the day after I bought this they raised the price to around $225.. and 45 bucks shipping ... whats up with that newegg ?

Other Thoughts: hey grand ma need a computer .. read emails look at utube cat videos .. post her cat videos on facebook ... this is the ticket

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: For a little bit more than the price of a windows 7 key you get a complete system. Granted this system is old, however the core 2 duo is a great processor that's still up to web browsing and internet streaming, which is exactly what I was looking for.

Cons: Biggest issue for me was that the displayport is video only. This means that even with a displayport to HDMI adapter you will not get audio to the tv. I ended up using the VGA output to the tv (thankfully my tv has a vga input) It would have been nice to have an all digital signal to the tv. The picture, and audio still look and sound great. You could always remedy this situation with a cheap low profile HDMI video card.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace an ancient P4 2.6gzh that I was using in the bedroom to stream netflix. This system is more than up to the task of basic streaming and video playback. I reformatted and installed win 7 x64 just incase I ever wanted to add more RAM. The product key included activated windows with no issues.

4 out of 5 eggsMy third HP DC7900

Pros: These are really well built business class PCs. They have reasonable computing power and storage and, after buying three of them over the last five years, I've been quite pleased with all of them.

All three came very clean inside and out and fully functional. A excellent system for very little money.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsWished I bought more than 2

Pros: This arrived with a disk that lets you install either Windows 7 Professional 32-bit or 64-bit. I purchased 4 GB of additional (used) memory for each computer, swapped out the 160GB SATA HDD for a 500GB Black WD hard drive, swapped out the DVD-ROM drives with CD/DVD-RW drives, and lastly added low profile USB3 PCie-x1 cards. These computers made great gifts for a couple of friends.

Cons: None, I only wish I purchased more than 2. Excellent price and fast Newegg Service.

Other Thoughts: With a WDC hard drive, I was able to download the free WDC Acronis backup software which is an excellent product. As long as you have a WDC hard drive or even an external USB WDC drive, you can use the free WDC Acronis backup software. I also plugged a 6-foot USB3 cable into the USB3 port on the back up the computer and wrapped it around the computer so that it's available from the front.
