3 out of 5 eggsOver all condition look terrible, broken accessories...

Pros: Shipped quick, Window 7 pro and have all ports for connection I need.

Cons: I bought 2 of these unit, the overall condition look terrible for one of them. It looked like it came out of the dumpster, the case was all bang up and have black scrape marks all over. Inside both PC was all dusty and clogged with dust bunnies. It does came with keyboard and mouse, but don't expect much from them. Beside the fact the these got to be one of the cheaply made accessories I ever seen. One mouse was dead and DOA and one keyboard have a broken leg stand. I contact New Egg for a replacement but was denied and directed me to contact HP themselves?

Other Thoughts: If you buy these to use at a location cannot be seen by other like me then it's fine, but you have to put them on top of the desk then think twice.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Newegg Service

Pros: This is an update to my previous review in which I mentioned that I only received 1 GB of RAM. After a few emails over about 1 1/2 weeks, Newegg took care of me. I asked for a small store credit to make up for the RAM, and they came through with a credit that I'm very satisfied with.

Good job Newegg!

Cons: One minor new con. There is something about the way the OS is installed on this system that won't allow me to image the hard drive with the drive installed in the machine (and the destination drive connected either to the SATA bus on the machine, or through a USB dock - tried both). My backup software can normally do this with an automatic reboot to DOS to handle the copy process. On this system, I have to remove the drive and attach it to another system to do a drive image. This may be a limitation of my "somewhat high" Tech Knowledge or my backup software (easeus).

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Workhorse

Pros: Value

Cons: Cleanliness of case interior

Other Thoughts: For what you get, you are paying very little. Great way to pick up a Windows 7 Pro machine. For about the cost of a 7 Pro license, you get a whole PC. These were a great purchase for our organization as we look to move from XP to a Windows 7 environment without paying a small fortune. The only knock I have against these is the amount of dust that was present inside the case. Nothing you can't fix with a few sprays of air, but still... if these were refurbished, they should be blown out during inspection.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Value

Pros: >No dents, minor scratches, looks like a grade A refurb to me.
>Runs quiet - good for HTPC.
>Nice, solid case.
>Good packaging - heavy box with foam inserts specific to this model PC.
>Started right up, no issues.

Cons: >Only came with 1 GB RAM. Newegg says description is right, problem isolated to my unit.
>Still working out the missing RAM. Newegg wants me to RMA the whole PC, but that's not worth the shipping.
>Displayport does not appear to support audio out (using an audio-capable HDMI adapter from Newegg). I'll have to run a separate audio cable.
>Windows install and supplied disk are 32 bit which matches description. I was hoping to get 64 bit like the other reviewer, but no big deal for my purpose.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to use as an HTPC with Windows Media Center (part of Windows 7). It works great for that purpose. The compact case doesn't look bad as a home theater appliance. The onboard video meets WMC requirements. I did upgrade the hard drive and add 2 GB RAM. If Newegg comes through with the missing 1 GB RAM, I'll be maxed out for 32 bit Windows.

I'd give this 5 eggs if not for the hassle with the RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Workhorse for a Cheap Price

Pros: Intel E8400 Core 2 Duo processor @3ghz with 6M Cache and supports VT as well.
Small form factor. 2 PCi x16 slots, 1 PCI, 1 Express, 4 SIMM memory slots, Windows 7 64bit Professional. Integrated Video and Audio, Dual PS2, Dual RS232 Serial and Parallel port, Front and rear USB connections, 1GB Lan connection and DVD Player. It's all there and super quiet too! Simply add a VGA monitor and your on your way!

Cons: Not really but if I had to mention something, it has only 2 GB's of ram and 160gb small disk drive. I would have deducted 1 egg for this but when you consider the price you really can't especially when you consider its completely refurbished.

Other Thoughts: For the price you can't beat it. The E8400 CPU runs Windows 7 very well though the PC would benefit from additional memory. (Super cheap to do though). This platform is perfect for a student or someone with limited desk space. Not a gaming machine but a workhorse for someone needing a good quality PC with some limited expandability.
