No it is not wifi ready. Honestly, its not worth getting wifi for a gaming desktop if your looking for good connection speeds. get yourself a long cable and your good to go.

The installed video card has two plug ins. one blue-vga and one white- which is the hdmi one i believe.

Depends on what you mean by "hook up". If you mean "Is this computer able to share files and communicate with another computer?" the answer is yes, but if you mean "Can this computer combine with my other computer to form a super computer?" then probably not.

I'd like to upgrade the video card but not sure which one to purchase that would be compatible with this system.  I can put together hardware but I've never been good at mixing and matching.  Any recommendations?

Careful with the overdrive though, the stock fans aren't enough to keep it cool. Either get extra cooling, put your cpu by an open window or just stay out of the red.

Oh yeah, you will have to twist tie some of the wires by the right side of the motherboard. This beefy graphics card barely fits in this tower. It's about $175 on Amazon.

The specs are actually really good, besides the gpu. I was wondering if id be able to replace the Gt 610 with a Gtx 650 ti boost. would it work with the stock power supply?

Yes, it comes with a 450watt stock. I put in a Radeon 7850 with wattage to spare.

Does this computer have a VGA port?

Yes, this has a VGA port.  It also has an HDMI and a DVI port.  These are part of the included video card (Nvidia GForce 610).  I am using two monitors; one for the HDMI and one with the VGA.  It looks like the motherboard also has a VGA port but I do not use this.

if i hooked this up to my laptop( a samsung windows 8) could it improve my computer speeds and storage? or would i have to plug it into a desktop.

No. You would need to upgrade your laptop. Attaching it to a computer wont do anything but allow transferring of files. TO make your laptop faster I suggest getting that upgraded or just get a new one.
